Question:	Will this be compatible with Ebay
Answer:	Hi. Yes, you can indeed use this printer with the Ebay software to print labels, just be aware the Ebay software does not directly support Thermal Printers on the Mac (it does on the PC, but not on the Mac). See my original post where I explain in step-by-step detail exactly how to use the DYMO printer with the Ebay software. It involves opening the Ebay label in Apple's Preview program, cropping the label, and then printing the label directly from the Preview program. That method works and the printed label looks great, only it would be a lot more convenient and wouldn't require as many workaround steps if Ebay directly supported Thermal Printers on the Mac. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Don't buy DYMO printer. You can get a Zebra printer and get free labels from UPS. DYMO tries to draw you in with a lower price for printer, but over the long run of paying for labels you will pay a lot more. I found that if I paid $100-$200 more for a Zebra I would save $3000-$4000 per year on labels.

Answer:	it's not wireless but when connected ours to a router with a usb port and use it that way. We print 250+ labels a day this way.

Question:	Does it waste a lot of tape when printing
Answer:	No-it does not waste tape-I have had many labelers over time and this is the easiest to use efficiently.
Question:	Does it print two or three lines
Answer:	This printer has a wonderful imaging model that scales to arbitrary sizes. I tested this and quit after printing 15 lines of text on a 6-mm tape! The lines were too tiny to read, of course, but the point is that the number of lines is limited by legibility, not by the software - which is the way it should be.
Question:	Does this labeler waste a TON of tape on the left margin like the Brother units do
Answer:	I have/had a Brother P-touch: I bought the DYMO 160 because it does not waste tape like the Brother does! For those who think the DYMO wastes tape,, you have no idea, buy a brother and you only get to print on 40% of the roll. That is a generous guess...
Question:	Does the tape need to be purchased separately - or does it come with your first roll
Answer:	It comes with a roll of 1/2" x 10' black print on white labels. The rolls purchased afterwards in the 1/2" width are 23' long and last quite a bit longer than the first roll will last, especially if you calculate in the misprints during the learning curve!

Question:	Typography is similar to that of the machine came out in the 70s, with relief and retro look? Labels stick on paper and plastic
Answer:	Yes, The tech hasn't changed since than, I had one in the 70s. Main thing is to use a gentle hand. It takes very little effort to emboss and cut and this thing is made of flimsy plastic. As to glue, labels stick well to any smooth clean surface, but any dust, oil or texture and they need help. Paper? well I just write on that. When a label won't stick to something or falls off, I use a little yellow wood glue smeared on the back of the label and that seems to work excellent to put it back up, and yellow glue can be scrubbed off of metal and plastic easily. White "Elmers" would probably work too, I just have the yellow around. Smooth plastic it sticks well, textured, it needs help. Same with metal. Should stick well to glass. My mother used the one from the 70s to label spice bottles when I was a kid. I haven't labeled anything on wood, but wouldn't even try without my handy bottle of tite bond.

Answer:	The Dymo is a thermal printer, it uses no ink, therefore it never needs replacement ink. I have been labeling for the past 18 months using paper labels and most of the time the letters have not faded. The only paper label that has faded is on a item I handle on a daily basis, I would think the normal grease of my hands may cause the fading.
Question:	Does this have one-touch date/time function
Answer:	Yes for date (in mmm dd yy format), no for time. You access it in the "Insert" menu, where "Date" is one of the choices.

Answer:	I looked on the Dymo website, they are still offering the printer for free IF you buy 20 rolls of labels. Even at the least expensive price of $10 for a roll of address labels, you are looking at a cost of $200. You would have a lot of labels, but I don't need thousands of labels. At the Amazon cost, it is still a good deal (IMHO)

Answer:	At Dymo we only have software to support PC and Mac.
Question:	Can it print oil change labels
Answer:	I'm an old certified ASE automotive technician. I cannot remember the company's name, but now there a numerous ones out there who make the labels for oil changes. Talk to your local technician and he should have catalogs of all company's that sell automotive form specialties. I had piles of them laying around the office. Hope that helps.

Answer:	I have 2 Brothers, and 2 Dymos. In both, I have a smaller, more common unit, links anyone could buy in Walmart, and in both I have an orange, industrial use model. The things that jump out to me, are that the labels for the Dymos are definitely cheaper, all around, but especially if you have to buy them at a store. I am going to speak only of the industrial models. The Dymo has rubber around about 50%of the unit, and on all corners. The Brother, on the other hand, has rubber around about 50%of the unit, but it only goes around the bottom half of the machine, and not around the top half of the machine, which has the large corners, as well as the cut off handle. It doesn't make sense, to be honest. Also, where there is rubber, on the bottom half, it doesn't cover the entire side, it only covers the inner half, and it is actually inset, so if the machine was dropped on the bottom half, it is unlikely that rubber is actually make contact, but the plastic would. Again, it doesn't make sense at all. All around the Dymo appears to have rubber, exactly where it should be, whereas the Brother has rubber in the spots that are least likely to make contact with a hard surface if dropped. As for ease of use, the brother is slightly smaller, which means that it has smaller buttons. Also all of the settings have to be set through an internal menu. There is no way of setting your favorites that I know of. When selecting items in the menu, it is not always as intuitive as it should be. The keyboard is in alphabetical order (which drives me crazy!) The screen is a regular LCD, with a grey background and black letters. The one positive over the Dymo, is that the cutter handle is large, in a good spot for applying smooth and firm pressure. The Dymo is set up to be easy in many ways. The keyboard is QWERTY, the buttons are all different sizes, with the more used ones being larger. Most of the functions are available via a button, although some buttons serve two purposes. The secondary function is accessed through use of a special shift button, that is orange to coincide with the orange color of the secondary function on the button. I find this to be one of the minor downsides of the Dymo, because this colors it's somewhat difficult to make out, especially on the darker colored keys. In fact, on the dark grey keys/buttons, they are nearly impossible to read. It surprises me because most things on this unit are well-thought-out. The screen on the Dymo is orange background with black characters, and the contrast can be easily set. In fact, it makes me think back to the brother, and I don't even know if that contrast can be adjusted, because if it a can, that feature is hidden somewhere in an internal menu. The coup de gras is that the Dymo has a large button beside the screen with a light bulb on it that can be pushed to backlight the screen, which stays on for a few moments and then turns off. Where the Dymo really sets itself apart from the Brother, is the ability to print different types of labels, all that can be accessed with a button, but who's features can be adjusted via an internal menu that often pops up automatically when a label type is selected, and is usually very intuitive easy to set. It can also print labels specifically for wires or cables, that can be wrap around the wire or cable, or to be made into a flag, with the type viewable on both sides of the flag. It has settings for Breakers boxes, modules, and even barcodes. Once you create a label a specific way that you like, and use often, you can save it as a favorite, w/a special button, and is then accessed via another specific button. The keys are made of several different colors, and the Dymo also has a special rechargeable lithium battery available, but it is $30. Therefore, the Dymo, in my opinion, is the superior unit. I am going to try to submit pics above, so look out for those. Thank you.
