The piece that is on the side extends out all the way to help measure/cut things by inches. The piece that extends would probably move if you put it on an angle. It looks in when fully extended.

Answer:	In order to store the blade or scoring tools underneath the cutter, put the blade/scorer in the holder piece and slide it from the open end to the closed end while holding it down. It will lock in at the closed end and then lift the holder up. To load the blade or scorer out, simply place the holder over the item and slide back toward the open end.

Answer:	I'm sure they could to whatever size you want to cut them to, as long as you have the correct scissors, but they won't cut on a Cricut correctly if they're not 12 inches side to side. The mat will be pulled into the machine in a crooked fashion, causing issues with cutting. If you own the original Cricut machine, made over 10 years ago, that used 6 x 12 mats, you could cut this down the middle and potentially use this as two mats for the original Cricut machine. However, the machines that are currently supported by Cricut only support 12 inch wide mats.

Answer:	Not more then one sheet of card stock. I woke at a restaurant and it’s not capable of cutting more then one piece of 65lb cardstock for our menus without causing fraying of the edge. Not very professional.
