Answer:	About a good 3/4 to an inch of paper on the rings (not sure the exact count of sheets, but it's a good many at least for me for the office) and a standard thickness note tablet in the tablet slot.

Answer:	I have not experienced a problem with the flap wrinkling or damaging the paper on the opposite side. The only thing I have noticed is that when you insert a sheet on the left side it must go all the way in so that it will not bend the document when you close the portfolio.
