Question:	Can you insert a side notebook rather than a legal/flip notebook
Answer:	No. However, I have removed the top loading notepad, and instead use a soft cover large Moleskine notebook. This way, I can keep it and my cards, pens and other materials in it, open it or just remove the Moleskine, set the padfolio next to my chair and take notes if I have limited desk or table space.

Question:	Will it zip closed with a standard letter size file folder inside
Answer:	Yes. I just tested putting a couple manila letter size file folders in it and it closed just fine when you lay the file on the writing pad. You can get one or two in the pocket on the left side.
Question:	Does it fold in half (180 degrees to the backside
Answer:	Just received my order today- it definitely does NOT fold back 180 degrees very easily, but can force it to do so. In doing so- it really stresses the spine- dont think it would hold up and think the bonded leather would wind up separating. Kind of disappointed that it doesn't- as portfolio I am replacing did fold back. I really like the look of the portfolio and for the price point am willing to take a chance on it.
Question:	Can I put a spiral notebook in this instead of that notepad
Answer:	The portfolio is designed to hold a standard 8 1/2 x 11" writing pad where the cardboard backing on the pad slides into the sleeve on the back cover. So if your spiral notebook opens from the top it should fit fine and you should have enough room to accommodate the spiral binding. If you spiral notebook opens from the side, it should still fit fine as there is ample room in the center of the portfolio to accommodate the spiral binding. However, there wouldn't be any way to hold it in place since the sleeve is designed for pads that are bound at the top. If you don't mind it being loose, it should work fine.
Question:	does this hold a regular notebook or just the top bound kind
Answer:	It does have vertical pocket so side or top bound notebooks can be used. The space is 9" x 12".

Question:	What are the dimensions
Answer:	It says that they are 13.1 (L) x 10.6 (W) x 1.5 (H) inches. From what I can see on mine, that's fairly accurate.
Question:	I would like to carry my Microsoft Surface tablet (11" x 7", very thin) in the document pocket. Does it look like it would fit
Answer:	Short answer: Yes, it will fit in the longer document pocket. However, that pocket is very loose and if you do not zip the entire portfolio closed, your tablet could easily fall out. The is a small, padded pocket inside the document pocket that has a velcro fastener. This looks more ideal for a tablet, but is too small for Surface. Looks like it would hold smaller (~7") tablet.
Question:	Can you fold the padfolio to write on it? I intend to use it on a small desk, or my lap
Answer:	Yes it works fine in your lap, I have used it several times that way with no issues. I've seen padfolios with more to offer(zippers, more pockets etc...) however it is light weight and efficient for the tasking I require. I also use it to house my kindle hdx fire when it's not in use. Great product all around
