Answer: The ones I received at the time have no seal option. At one end, one side of the bag is about 1 3/4" longer than the other so it can be folded over, but there is no seal included. You must apply your own type of seal; i.e. tape or perhaps heat if you have it.
Question: Are these acid free

User questions & answers

Question: Are these acid free
Answer: The boards in total composition are acid free at time of manufacture, but they don't remain that way over time as the core of the board is acidic. The boards have a coating on one side (the smooth side) that acts as a buffer / alkaline reserve. This side should be the only side that touches anything. The rough side is acidic. When used as a comic book backer the buffer deteriorates over time due to the acidity of the comic book as well as the board itself. This happens within 3-5 years depending on environmental conditions and necessitates replacement of the board. The vendor will even admit to this fact.
Question: Fabric stashers: Can these be cut in half with a rotary cutter to use with smaller cuts of fabric
Answer: I do not use my rotary cutter on anything but fabric. That being said, I have been able to cut the cardboard with a straight edge paper cutter that I purchased for scrapbooking.
Question: is this the cardboard you get in comic bags
Answer: Yes
Question: One side is glossy, the other is matte. Does it matter what side I put against the comic
Answer: Yes!!!Where I bought many comics at a comic book store the guy working in there told me to lay the board down where the glossy side is facing up and put the comic book on this side. The rough matte side should never touch the comic book!!!Also if I was you I would get the current comic book bags that comes in a 100 count pack. This is for the average comic collector that does not have any valuable comic books. If you have expensive ones that you really want to protect the best you have to buy the much more expensive comic book bags. You can find all these on Amazon. They are much cheaper on these than any of the comic book shops I know.I like to keep my comic books in a special comic book box that Amazon sells. It holds around 250 comic books depending on the size.I keep my comics in a dark place my closet.I used to keep some in the basement but it was humid and ruined them!!!I hope you enjoy collecting comic books.I hope this has helped you!!!!

User questions & answers

Question: How thick is the comic book backing board
Answer: A little less than the thickness of a dime. Rey good quality. Would recommend .
Question: Which comic book boards can I use for fat quarters
Answer: These are the boards I used for fat quarters.
Question: What do they mean by "silver" in the product title? is that referring to the silver age of comics, as opposed to the current size of comics
Answer: yes, silver age 7x10 1/2, gold 7 1/2 x 10 1/2 and current (or modern day comics) 6 3/4 x 10 1/2. The listing overlooks that consumers don't know what size books they are boarding, excellent question
Question: How many in a pack
Answer: 100 in a pack, but I have seen 200, too.

User questions & answers

Question: Are these anything like poster board
Answer: Just a little, they are not real thick however work real well for folding fabric
Question: Are these corrugated or solid
Answer: These are solid.
Question: When packing magazines for mailing, which side goes next to the magazine? the shiny coated side, or the plain side
Answer: The coated side is meant to go next to the Magazine. The coated side keeps the acids in the paper from bleeding onto the boards, and keeps the boards from yellowing the paper.
Question: How thick is each board
Answer: Slightly thicker and more stiff than cereal box board.

Question: Are these acid free
Answer: Certified Acid Free by a Third Party.
Question: What are the exact dimensions of this backing board? I'm looking to also use the corresponding acid free bag and want to be sure the board fits

User questions & answers

Question: Can this rigid photo holder be adheared to a wall plaque and change the photo monthly? by Craig
Answer: Possibly, though I have no experience with using it in that way. It seems that it would be difficult to remove and replace the photo if the holder is stuck in place. You need to manipulate the photo and holder somewhat to insert or remove the photo.
Question: Does it open on the long or short size
Answer: The opening is on the top, the short side.
Question: What size is each individual holder? I am looking to store photos in these, then in a box
Answer: They're just large enough to fit a 4x6 photo with no extra space in, or surrounding. They fit nicely in a traditional photo box for 4x6 prints.
Question: do you have anything that is 4-1/2-4-3/4 long and 3-3-1/4 high like a pistol permit? Same rigid plastic. Thanks
Answer: no

User questions & answers

Question: Will sewing patterns fit in these bags
Answer: Well that depends on the size of the sewing pattern, now doesn't it? To better answer your question, look at the stated size of the bag. That is a pretty accurate size of what you have to work with. If your sewing pattern is paper thin and has Length and Width dimensions that are smaller than that of the bag, then yes, they will fit.
Question: Can these be used for paperback
Answer: Not for trade paperbacks. They're too thick. These mylar bags are fine for traditional comics, up to about a thickness of a double-sized issue. Squarebound books like TPBs would likely split the seams of the bag, because the bags don't stretch like normal comic bags do.
Question: In the item pics, it shows several different products. which one would i be receiving? i want silver/modern bags. confused here
Answer: These are Silver Age bags. They will fit any book from the Silver Age up to today. "Current" bags will only fit Bronze Age books and newer.
Question: What size backing board should be used with these 7x10.5 bags? The 7x10.5 boards that i purchased seem to be too wide. Thanks
Answer: It should be silver age backing boards. However, I think they made the bags too small but labeled them silver age anyway. We lost half of the ones we bought to the bags ripping.. We went back to the bags that work which were Max Protection silver age bags. We will never buy these again. Current age backing boards might be smaller. I cannot say for sure since we do not use them

User questions & answers

Question: Will this fit Newtype magazines
Answer: It will depend on obviously what size your magazine is I can't tell from the description whether these are gusseted magazine sleeves or not if they are gusted it they will probably fit the new magazines I always try and buy gusseted sleeves because that will allow them to fit even thicker magazines that's one thing you have to keep in mind is how thick the magazine is they may be the right height and width but if the magazine is too thick they might not hold the magazine so make sure to buy gusseted sleeves I hope this answer helps you I know it's kind of vague but you can't answer a question like this with a black and white answer because not all magazines are the same sorry it's not a yes or no answer.
Question: Can I fit a newspaper in this
Answer: A folded newspaper, yes.
Question: will this fit spiral notebook
Answer: No, this will not fit into a regular size notebook.
Question: They fit playBoy and penthouse mags
Answer: They surely will fit, as long as they measure 11-1/8" x 14-1/4" in size

Question: How many come in a single pack
Answer: 100 bags per pack.
Question: What size are these bags? Dimensions
Answer: Exterior Dimensions: 6 x 7 5/8
Question: Are the bags resealable
Answer: I'm not quite sure what you mean, but you can reuse these bags for as long as they hold up, which should be a long time. They do not seal on their own. You would have to use some scotch tape or other to close it up, so yes they are resealable as long as you use something you can easily take off and out back on.
Question: How many bags are in this? It says nowhere in the description
Answer: There are 100 bags in a package. They are the ideal size for pre 2006 TV Guides.

User questions & answers

Question: Will these bags hold playboy from the 70s and 80s
Answer: Yes they hold Playboy's from the 60's, 70's and 80's. The thick special additions can be very snug though and bags can easily tear if not careful. Slide the cardboard insert in first, then the magazine will go in much easier.
Question: do these bags have flaps
Answer: They have self sealing flaps with great glue. I LOVE mine!!
Question: Are the boards white on both sides
Answer: Yes. There are two finishes to the board's surface: a 'slick' finish on one side that should be set against the the cover of the comic and a 'common' finish on the other side of the board. It's debatable if this is a hard and fast rule when bagging your comics, as the entire board is supposed to be acid-free. However, in my informal conversations with those I know to be serious collectors, this seems to be the consensus amongst those who are more detail-oriented when it comes to the protection and conservation of their collections.
Question: Can a book that's about a 1/4" thick fit in these bags
Answer: It would depend on the height and width of the book. I have some that are 10 3/4" tall and 7" wide (1/4" thick) that fit nicely. It could probably hold another inch in width but that may be stretching it.
