Answer:	This mat is made of plastic material and soft and flexible. Any plastic material will indent if a weight is put on it over a long time. Whether the dent is permanent or not would depend on how long the weight is placed on it. I believe a chair will be able to roll much easier on this mat than on a carpet. I have used these same product. It works very well.
