Answer:	take the cardboard insert out to use as refrence... sew the shape desired... go to Michael's and get fill/foam

Answer:	The one I purchased spins freely, I have never used a fidget spinner so I can't compare the two. I use mine for artwork, so I haven't put anything heavy on it. The only problem I had with it was getting the sticker residue on it. Hope this helps. -Shay
