User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work with a combination of ooma (for home use) and ringcentral/skype (for home office |
Answer: | Hello, you can set these up for Google Voice, thru a proxy service from a third party service it works great, and its one time fee of $5.99 and the have another line for a VOIP service like VOIP.ms it also a great service and one of the best price wise and service and quality..any other questions let me know.. Frank |
Question: | Can this phone handle a second line without purchasing additional hardware |
Answer: | No additional hardware is required to connect a second line via a SIP Trunk provider. You simply need to enter the credentials and connection information for your second SIP Trunk. |
Question: | I ordered 6 of these phones. None came with a power supply. Why are power supplies missing |
Answer: | Since the SPA 303 sets are not Power Over Ethernet (802.3af) compliant they should include a 5vDC power supply. I would recommend contacting the seller that you purchased these from and requesting the power supplies. |
Question: | Are these phones unlocked and will they work with Ring Central? Any thing else additional I need to buy with these phones? Thanks |
Answer: | I don't know if Ring Central will work but regarding what else is needed...power cord, enternet cord, and a headset if you wwant hands free. The least expensive headset I found that works (and I run a call center) is one we got from Staples: GE Model 98974 at a cost of around 20.00. You plug it in on the right side. Also, you should plug your ethernet to your computer into the bottom of the phone where it says PC and the SW is for your Provider's wall connection. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this phone POE or does it need a power cord |
Answer: | No, I have had 2 phones of this type and a friend has 1 also.. they are very clear. You may want to check the headset if you get static, that can connection can cause that. |
Question: | Several of the reviews indicate that they were sent the 525g instead of the 525g2 that is listed above. is this the 525g2 or the 525g |
Answer: | The desk phone would have to be analog. Some analog desk phones have a secondary jack that you could use. Otherwise a dual modular adapter is what you would need. |
Question: | Is this phone the 525G or 525G |
Answer: | I have used this phone for many years (I am on my 2nd one now.), and I have never had a problem with background noise, either from my end of the call or complaints from the people I would be talking with. So noise canceling must work well on this phone! |
Question: | Is this the 52g or the 525g2, several of the reviews indicate that they were sent the 525g instead of the 525g2 that is listed above |
Answer: | I think your service provider is where you may have voicemail capabilities. The phone itself will easily allow you to access the voicemail thru one of the buttons. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will Cisco honor warranty if purchased here |
Answer: | Yes it does - with only one huge caveat. It will only allow you to configure the EXACT same line configuration (with same extension #/password combo) for the 1-5 available lines. Adding just one different line config will result in indefinite registering loop. Other than that, works perfect. |
Question: | may I know the manufacturing year |
Answer: | Yes, the Cisco 8861 phone can connect to wireless networks, and can be configured to connect to VPN. I only have experience connecting it to an ASA next gen firewall. |
Question: | Does this work with at&t's digital phone service (voip |
Answer: | Here is a link to the administrator's guide to help you troubleshoot your issue: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/8800-series/english/adminguide/P881_BK_C136782F_00_cisco-ip-phone-8800_series.pdf |
Question: | I use this phone to connect to 1-voip service, and the phone keeps restarting every ~45 minutes (it always does this). can this be fixed |
Answer: | NO, it will not work with an online SIP provider (I use Nextiva). You do need CCM for this phone - I found out the hard way. However, you can order the correct one from a number of Cisco vendors, which I ultimately ended up doing, and I love the phone. You need one that supports 3rd Party Call Control (3PCC) and the model numbers are CP-88XX-3PCC-K9= , in this case, CP-8861-3PCC-K9=. Good luck! Other answer is not entirely correct - you can "upgrade" from the 3PCC firmware to the CCM firmware, but once you do, you are stuck with it. You cannot "downgrade" from the CCM firmware to the 3PCC version. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this refurbished? Or New |
Answer: | Unfortunately, this does not make a Drama 24 ringtone. Thank you for checking with Atlas Phones. |
Question: | can you add a side card |
Answer: | This phone can be used with Asterix if it is loaded with SIP firmware. The products we sell are loaded with Cisco specific SCCP firmware. You must have a support contract with Cisco to access the SIP firmware. |
Question: | My company is changing phone system and i would like to know if these phones are supported by at&t fiber optic. do we need any other service |
Answer: | The CP-7945G phone can be converted to SIP and used with a SIP trunk provided or as a 3rd Party SIP device on Non Cisco systems, but Dial Up is too slow to support Voice Over IP (VoIP) communications. You typically want a bare minimum of 128Kbps (upload and download) DSL to use VoIP communications. |
Question: | Can you attach a microphone? I already have a headset attached, but need a microphone input as well |
Answer: | No, this is not a mobile phone. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Se puede configurar en idioma español |
Answer: | Cisco will honor the Cisco hardware warranty only if purchased from authorized Cisco seller/partner. Please contact the seller and see what warranty terms he offer for this product. In general the Cisco IP Phone 8841 phones are covered by a Cisco standard 1-year replacement warranty. |
Question: | Can I use this with one phone line, answer a call and send the call to another one of the phones |
Answer: | That information should be written on the product cardboard package. |
Question: | Can I check my office messages remotely |
Answer: | Not likely. AT&T's service is normally locked and requires you to use their equipment. We use these and other SIP phones with our voiSip service and their cloud phone system. They are an "open" service, and let you use pretty much any SIP compatible phones and apps. |
Question: | Where is the music on hold jack on the base? I saw an opening on the front lower right corner of the base but the jack doesn't fit in |
Answer: | Weird. We've never had that happen. We're using voiSip service, and they programmed our phones for us. But I don't think that matters. Probably something in the firmware, or just a faulty phone. See if you can find a setting for it, or maybe try updating firmware. As a last resort, you might need to flash the phone back to factory default, then program again from scratch. If none of that works, I'd pursue warranty replacement, but Cisco is such a pain to deal with. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Cisco 8851-K9 V |
Answer: | Refurbished |
Question: | does it come with the original box |
Answer: | Yes, you can add a side car. We have several in our organization. It's a Cisco IP Phone Key Expansion Module, Model CP-BEKEM |
Question: | Is this brand new? can i buy cisco warranty on it |
Answer: | Hello, sorry this answer is going to be quite long. These phones typically require a Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) server (can be virtualized) or Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express installed a Cisco Router. For the actual phone lines: You will either need to have POTS lines or a PRI connected to a Cisco Router which point to the CUCM server, or you may connect the UCM server to virtual phone lines through the internet (SIP), which will run over your AT&T Fiber Optic. You may also need to purchase additional licensing. If you don't have the CUCM in place yet, we recommend doing research on Cisco's website or reaching out to vendor to help configure/install the server. Hope that helps! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this product worth with 3PCC such as ringcentral |
Answer: | Not sure what you mean by unlocked |
Question: | does this phone has power adapter |
Answer: | The power supplies with these phones were a separate order when they are purchased new. These are POE phones |
Question: | This phone is asking for an "admin" password on cisco after entering my ip address on my address bar in order to configure the phone. how do i get it |
Answer: | Yes it can. Ooma is picky, they "require" you to buy the phones through them, however, a lot of people don't realize they can buy a used/refurbished version of the exact same models Ooma sells (Cisco SPA303, SPA 504G; Yealink T27G, etc.) and claim it was reset when you call into to support. Answer "yes" if they ask if you purchased it though them, though they likely won't even ask. You will need to have the phone powered on, and identify what the IP address of the phone is, and type the IP address into a browser on a computer on the same network, you will need to do this while on the phone with Ooma support. They will guide you through the rest. Hope this helps! |
