Answer:	It takes standard 35mm slides or film strips only. Most of mine are from the 50s and 60s. What size film were you using?

Answer:	Yes it works with mounted slides. Aren't all slides mounted? However the slider mechanism jams regularly and has to be pulled out of the ION and you have to fiddle with it to get the slides to go through.

Question:	What is the tv jack for? the manual said it is a phone jack, but none of tv has a phone plug
Answer:	While it's true that camera "film" can't be exposed to light, DEVELOPED film becomes a "negative", which CAN be exposed to light. So far, I've converted about 200 35 mm slides to digital photos without any problems. I haven't tried using negatives yet, but I'm sure the result will be the same. It's a fantastic little machine.
Question:	Can this scan 120 film
Answer:	With a Mac, you have to save images to an SD card or the device's built-in memory (only 128 MB). Then you choose USB Upload and you can transfer the images to your computer.
Question:	Are the Reels for 8mm film scanning included or are they an extra cost? None are shown in the advertisement
Answer:	I'm not sure about that as I have only produced a digital image from a negative.
Question:	Does this connect to the computer to save the photos onto hard drive or do you need the SD card
Answer:	Not being an expert on the computer, I am not sure what "ntsc" means, but I do NOT use an sd card with my Kodak Scanner. I have the scanner plugged directly into my laptop, and the digital images go straight to the E drive, from where I easily put them into folders under My Pictures. So far I have done about 1,100 slides, and I am so very happy with the quality of the digital images. I also have had fun editing for brightness and color. Many of my digital images are better than the original slides! I am extremely happy with this product.

Question:	It used to be that after photos are taken and still in the camera when roll is removed it cannot be exposed to light. How does this work
Answer:	U can look up YouTube how to pull out w the screw, inside is 35mm and it does work w this scanner
Question:	Does this unit save directly to a computer or do you have to save to SD Card and then to the computer
Answer:	Yes. The scanner records the images (JPG) on removable media like a camera or directly to the computer via USB cable (included). You can transfer via USB or by removing the media and transferring it that way
Question:	Does the type of media inserted determine the number of megapixels an image is converted to
Answer:	There is no tray, you push the 1st slide in. It is not in the center for the picture to show completely so you use the 2nd slide to push the 1st slide in position and after digitizing the 1st slide you continue to push the 2nd slide all the way in. The 1st slide is not yet all the way out so you push the 3rd slide in a little way so you can get the 1st slide out. Continue with all your slides. Once you do about 10-15 slides it become very routine and works well.
Question:	The ntsc out is really useless, only way to get digital images is to write to the sd card, correct
Answer:	I don’t know about the dpi but it is 14.0 megapixels (4320 X 3252). Much better than the old slides we have scanned in!

Question:	will it do round negative discs
Answer:	John, Install the drivers first, so that when you power up the scanner it will be recognized. I think you will be happy with this scanner. It isn't the fastest around, but the results are worth the wait. I think some of my old slides (1960's and 1970's) look better than they did originally.
Question:	I have old black and white negatives that are a out 9cm long x 5cmwide is there a negative scanner on the market that can handle these larger old neg
Answer:	I also found the SilverFast software to be horrible. I HIGHLY recommend VueScan by Hamrick Software (http://www.hamrick.com). It can utilize ALL the features of the OpticFilm 82001 (including infrared) and is much more intuitive. Available for Macintosh, Windows and Linux computer at a very reasonable cost (you can either by the current edition with free upgrades for a year for $30 or the Professional version with free lifetime upgrades for $80). They have been around for a very long time and it is constantly upgraded. It supports just about every scanner imaginable!
Question:	Does it work with medium format film negatives
Answer:	Yes. You will probably need the latest software update from LaserSoft. Nice scanner.
Question:	Really? $40 for a cardboard box and a light
Answer:	This software is excellent but like any good, flexible program, one must take the time to learn it. Another issue is that Amazon keeps reviews that are old, old, and old. This is tech stuff and a 5 year old review is worthless. Heck a one year old review is worthless.

Question:	Can i purchase the slide viewer on the $45 film slide scanner eparately? i have lost mine
Answer:	Not sure. I went through the manual and found no reference to 127. I only used it for 35mm slide format which also included 126 film cut into a 35mm slide. I will try to convert some photos when I can get some. Could not have been more pleased with ease of operation or results.

Question:	How do I get an adapter for this
Answer:	The site says you can purchase a standard 6volt AC/DC adapter to use. These should be available through most hardware and department stores or directly through Amazon.
Question:	I've got my 35 mm slides mounted in 3 mm thick plastic frames. Would they fit in the viewer or would I have to take the film out of the frame
Answer:	The plastic covered slides will likely stick and not fit. The slides move through the viewer easily but sometimes stick but jiggling the viewer loosens it and comes out ok.
Question:	Is it just individual load or is there a tray so I can load & view more than one slide at a time? Exactly how does it work? What size is the screen
Answer:	Yes it is individual load. You can only load one photo at a time. There is a tray to catch the photo after you release it that will hold about dozen photos. The screen size is 3x3 inches. The photo magnifying is good and bright. There is a button you press to release each photo after you have finished viewing it but I found this button sticks often and you have to turn the viewer upside down and shake it to release the photo.
Question:	Can you only view 35mm slides? I have slides taken with 110 film
Answer:	there are two open slots on both sides of this viewer that are 45mm in length If film can slide through these openings it can be viewed

Answer:	It can if the negatives fit inside the plastic slide holders. It depends on the size and shape of them.

Question:	Will this device handle slides that 2 3/4 including the border
Answer:	The only reference to slide size that I could find was that is will scan positive slides as well as mounted 35mm slides. I would think this would include all slides

Answer:	I scan the slides to the SD card then use the card to transfer photos to my PC. I don't use Windows 8 but if your device will read and SD card it should work okay for you. The scanner comes with a micro SD card and an adaptor. I've never tried the direct connect but I would think if it works with Windows 7 it would work with 8 also.

Answer:	I have Windows XP and it works great. I don't know about Windows 8.

Answer:	The device scans directly to a SanDisk. I have an 8GB disk in mine. To move the pictures to your computer you can either move the SanDisk into a card reader slot on your computer, or you can hook up a USB cable between the scanner and the computer and access the files that way. There really is no software to run so the answer is yes, you can use it to move pictures to a Windows 7 PC. I have Windows 7 on my laptop which has a built in card reader.

Answer:	Yes it will. If your negative won't fit in the included protection envelope, you can send it through with a piece of white cardstock, and it will scan beautifully.

Answer:	Hi Ann, I believe it would as what you do is scan the pictures on to a SD card that is in the scanner then you place it into your SD slot on your pc. So as long as you have the slot for a SD card you should have no problems at all. I love my Kodak P811BK 8x10 Personal Picture Scanner. I do have to turn it off once in a while if I start scanning to many pictures. I have scanned over 500 pictures so far. Take the SD card and place it into my pc and there they are in their own file. Answer:	This product on Amazon showed it was a Kodak product, but when I went to register the product, I was given a error message that said "call this number." which I did. The customer service rep explained to me what I put in my explanation.

Answer:	You sit the negative on the frame, so I believe it will work with round negatives. It does depend on the size of the negative.

Answer:	I was wondering the same thing. It looks like only 35 mm as it reapeatedly states 35 mm. however, medium format is about the same width as slides....
