Answer:	Yes the EX8000 used as a wifi extender you have the option of having a guest network. You can use same SSID name as your main router or use a different SSID altogether. I did have issues with more than one extender on the same network using same SSID name as main router so I had to change one of the extenders to a different SSID.

Question:	Will this work with macos big sur
Answer:	As of 1/25/21 the driver does not work properly with Big Sur 11.2 running on a 2020 M1 mac mini (it scans 1 document after a computer restart, then refuses to scan again unless computer is restarted!) Spoke with Canon cs who suggested that they are continuing to work on updates, but no target availability date yet. TWAIN driver also does not work with Apple's "image capture" software included with the M1 mini, and Canon doesn't have plans to update it. Sadly, the scanner hardware seems of very good quality and is very fast when the software works. Probably great on older OS's and machines. ***Discovered a workaround--immediately after restarting, the scanner will remain connected/fully functional for a minute or two, during which you can scan like mad until it times out and you are forced to restart again!

Answer:	I wasn't able to get this model to connect to my wifi, maybe a bug with the software. Gave up after 1.5 hrs, sent it back and got the AD-1700. Connected to my wifi in 5 minutes using the LCD menus--way easier.

Answer:	Generally, you're going to want a flatbed scanner for photos. If you only have a few heirloom photos to scan, I would personally take them to a place that specializes in photo scanning, and not bother with owning my own flatbed scanner. It's kind of like photo printing; you don't need to own your own dedicated photo-quality printer when the Staples up the street would do a better job for less price.
