Question:	Will this work with macos big sur
Answer:	As of 1/25/21 the driver does not work properly with Big Sur 11.2 running on a 2020 M1 mac mini (it scans 1 document after a computer restart, then refuses to scan again unless computer is restarted!) Spoke with Canon cs who suggested that they are continuing to work on updates, but no target availability date yet. TWAIN driver also does not work with Apple's "image capture" software included with the M1 mini, and Canon doesn't have plans to update it. Sadly, the scanner hardware seems of very good quality and is very fast when the software works. Probably great on older OS's and machines. ***Discovered a workaround--immediately after restarting, the scanner will remain connected/fully functional for a minute or two, during which you can scan like mad until it times out and you are forced to restart again!

Answer:	Yes it does support up to legal size. I just got mine in yesterday and put it through the paces. I’m a mobile notary so scanning mixed paper sizes in the same scan is a must. It scanned letter and legal with no problems and quickly. It even says it can scan 11x14 in the brochure.

Answer:	Feeder works well, hasn't eaten any photos yet. The output tray is balky but adequate. Software can do color correction, either for each photo or as a preset.

Answer:	Dunno. I use it for my ix500.

Answer:	I use the model S1100 that rolls the master page through the scanner. The carrier sheet is excellent for this type of scanner, although I don't know the details of the ix500. It looks like that model feeds the master through rollers just as the S1100.
Question:	Does this carrier sheet work with the ScanSnap S1300i
Answer:	I don't see why not. I have a ScanSnap S1500m, and before that a 5111oem, and these work fine. Essentially they are two sheets of clear plastic material joined at the top and you put the paper to be scanned in between the two pieces. Then you insert with the joined end first and start scanning. Essentially they are only as thick as a piece of construction paper, and as far as I can tell, provide a more secure passage through the scanner. The carrier is transparent to the finished scan. This doesn't show up as an accessory at Fujitsu's website for your model, but since the sheets are 8.5" wide and 14" long and not too thick, I don't see why they wouldn't fit.Chuck
Question:	Which carrier sheets will work with the ScanSnap S1300i
Answer:	Helen, the Fujitsu carrier sheets do not work well with the S1300. They leave marks on your scanned sheet and don't look all that great. The marks I reference are on the carrier, so they scan through to your document. I also have the S1300 and use the SecurIt Document carrier or the AccuFAx carrier that you can purchase here on Amazon. The down side is unlike the ScanSnap carrier which allows duplex scanning (clear on both sides), these only allow one side of a document to be scanned at a time. Since you are usually using this carrier for smaller items, that are generally one-sided, it really doesn't make that much difference. Do a search for "accufax document carrier" and this will take you to several brands that work quite well with the S1300. Good luck. I hope you are enjoying your scanner. I love mine despite these piddly drawbacks.

Answer:	This scanner does a good job with photos, but maybe not as good a job as a flat-bed scanner. I usually scan photos at the highest resolution and it does take a bit of time, but that's like 30-40 seconds rather than 1 second for a B&W document.

Question:	My epson scanner did not come with a calibration sheet. From the picture it just looks like a blank sheet of paper. Do you have to use this
Answer:	The calibration sheet is white with a back stripe. The cleaning sheets are a white fibrous material that picks up dirt. I purchased my scanner used, and the calibration kit cleared up a black streak running the length of the scanned pages.
Question:	Can I just add isopropyl alcohol to the dry sheet or to the dried out wet sheet and achieve the same cleaning result
Answer:	I don't know! But it sounds like it might work! But before you do that, I'd check it out with an Epson support team member, in case it could damage the scanner somehow.

Answer:	Whether supposed to or not, I tried the dry sheet a few times with minimal effect, then went to the wet sheet. I may have used it twice, but it did work. I would try it again if I run into the same problem, in my case a dark vertical line on the scanned image.

Question:	Has anyone used this scanner for more than two years (moderate use)? I'm replacing a Neat Scanner that began to fail after about a year
Answer:	This is more of a business grade scanner than the Neat from top to bottom. I have a true paperless setup, I scan 99% of all of my documents (bills, receipts, instruction manuals, etc) the first time I handle them then shred the originals. The only thing I don't shred are legal documens but I still scan them. I have a routine that every month I make an offsite backup copy and every year I make an additional archive copy. I've scanned thousands of documents (more than moderate use) and the scanner has performed flawlessly. BTW this is my third scanner of this style, my first Epson.

Answer:	There is a front feeding slot for business and ID cards, but thicker card stock paper is not supported in the feeder. The small size of the scanner creates a curve in the feed path. For thicker card stock, consider a straight path model like the ES-400. - The Epson Team

Question:	Can these carriers be used in a gt-s55 escanner? that is what i have
Answer:	I use the carrier with GT-s50 --- as long as it fits in the slot of 8.5" is should work. The secret is in Epson scanner software. Select the scanning mode for "with carrier" You can scan single sided or double sided originals. If you do not select the "with carrier" mode, you will see the copy of the top binder section of the page-- it is annoying.

Answer:	It should work. I've used it on a Fitjitsu scanner for scanning small paper items such as receipts, business cards, certified cards and small stationary paper. It works great but the bar in the carrier sheet does appear on the scan result but it's not a problem for me.

Answer:	Clear, but with backing; see only one side, run it again to scan the second page.
