Question:	Does it have twain capability
Answer:	You can, yes. The software (Silverlight) lets you do batch scanning where you set the multiple scan areas and then hit batch and it scans them in order. You must set the scan area for the tray as well (Not automatic), but it works without the trays as well.
Question:	How do you scan long documents
Answer:	I agree with B. Menke on this. While I do not have a Plustek, I do use a primefilm xas (and before a primefilm xa) for 35mm film scanning, A dedicated 35mm film scanner of decent quality will give better scans than a flatbed can. However, the Epson V850 is more versatile and I use it for medium and large format film. The Epson is the way to go if you don't exclusively shoot 35mm film and cannot afford to get two scanners.
Question:	I have been using the ix500 for years and love it. Can you tell me the differences and between the ix500 and the ix1600, and why I should upgrade
Answer:	I would Google/YouTube "Wet Scanning" to get more details. But, to answer your question, yes the film will get wet. You put special fluid in the tray and then put your negative in it. At a basic level, wet scanning will help at filling in scratches, reduce/eliminate light scattering and refraction, hold the image flat to the glass, and a variety of other benefits that can help improve the image quality for scanning. It adds quite a few steps (and time) to your workflow process. Unless you were working on a special project (books, etc.), going to make large prints, I wouldn't wet scan.
Question:	What’s difference between iX1500 and iX
Answer:	Improved film holders. Also get a 2nd set to assist faster loading if working on larger projects. Upgraded software. Easier to use and faster scans, in my opinion, though may just be I am loading new set as soon as scan is completing. 600 is still a good machine but newer is usually improved and better. Hardware is not much different. Both out of same factory in Indonesia

Question:	Will this work with macos big sur
Answer:	As of 1/25/21 the driver does not work properly with Big Sur 11.2 running on a 2020 M1 mac mini (it scans 1 document after a computer restart, then refuses to scan again unless computer is restarted!) Spoke with Canon cs who suggested that they are continuing to work on updates, but no target availability date yet. TWAIN driver also does not work with Apple's "image capture" software included with the M1 mini, and Canon doesn't have plans to update it. Sadly, the scanner hardware seems of very good quality and is very fast when the software works. Probably great on older OS's and machines. ***Discovered a workaround--immediately after restarting, the scanner will remain connected/fully functional for a minute or two, during which you can scan like mad until it times out and you are forced to restart again!

Answer:	Yes it does support up to legal size. I just got mine in yesterday and put it through the paces. I’m a mobile notary so scanning mixed paper sizes in the same scan is a must. It scanned letter and legal with no problems and quickly. It even says it can scan 11x14 in the brochure.

Answer:	Feeder works well, hasn't eaten any photos yet. The output tray is balky but adequate. Software can do color correction, either for each photo or as a preset.

Answer:	Our ScanSnap models do not have TWAIN compatibility. However, the ScanSnap iX1600 is bundled with the ScanSnap Home software. We recommend saving the files to your local drive and uploading to the desired TWAIN application. We also have our fi-Series models which are TWAIN compatible.

Answer:	The ScanSnap iX1600 scanning speed is faster at 40 pages per minute. The ScanSnap iX1600 includes an LCD touch screen panel for better operability. Answer:	Yes. Because it is a straight-through scanner, it will scan anything, including such cards. What it does not do (and I have not tried) is convert the cards into a form that feeds directly into Outlook or a CRM. Very nice scanner.

Answer:	You can scan as many pages as you need. However you must feed the scanner manually one page at a time. If you are scanning larger document sets often it may become a bit of a bother.

Answer:	If you use the ScanSnap Manager, you can scan to file, email, pdf etc. You HAVE to use "their software" to use the scanner anyway.

Answer:	Mine is still on the shelf, waiting to use it on a trip. I did set it up and it scanned to my IPAD but I did not try to move the image anywhere and I'm not sure you can do that from Ipad but if connected as a regular scanner it should work. I have a Fujitsu ScanSnap that is fantastic. Two years old, I scan more than 100 a day and still kicking.

Answer:	A: If you need a scanner with auto doc feeder, does duplex, and that can also be 100% portable, do look to the ScanSnap S1300 or S1300i. Using it on a laptop with two USB ports the S1300 and S1300i can be run from USB power alone. That model I have purchased for me and others; holds about ten sheets. Using their software on a computer and iOS device it can scan through the computer to a iPhone and iPad. Choose the device that best fits your needs; maybe both. The S1300/S1300i and ix100 are outstanding devices; I have never regretted that purchase.
Question:	Does this scan directly to PDF from the device of does it need the software to convert it to PDF as another separate step after the initial scan
Answer:	Depends on how you set it up with the computer software. If you mostly scan to pdf then set it that way and everytime you use it will do just that, but just before you scan and you want somthing different like .JPEG then you can change the settings and then scan.

Answer:	You cannot do that from the scanner. You would have to play around with the settings through the Xerox software. There are scan settings that change the brightness and contrast.

Answer:	The major difference in the two scanners is the display, which will give you options to scan directly to different destinations without a computer.
Question:	Does this scan photo's? i have a lot of photo's to scan. if so, is it 600 dpi? does it crop? so many questions
Answer:	It has 600dpi option. However, there are scanners that have 1200dpi out there, 600dpi is pretty good but not perfect, but it could be good enough for you. There is an auto-cropping functionality, so it will crop the scan to just the size of the image. However, there could be situations that this feature doesn't work super well such as cropping too much or too less when the photo is a little bit tilted. Overall, if you have a LOT of photos, this can be used for quick backing up purpose.

Answer:	I don't believe so, you must use the interface first and then can be moved to SD card but not the other way around. thanks.
Question:	I have 100's of photos to scan. Can I feed them one after the other or do I have to click something after each one in order to scan the next one
Answer:	As James Eastridge says, they will auto-feed. But I've found that fine white lines appear on the digitized images after about 15 photos. Something from the surface of the physical photos collects on the rollers or glass and the lines get more pronounced the more photos I put through. To clean, I take 3 q-tips with a small square of t-shirt material banded around them and dip this in a bit of isopropyl alcohol. I rub this over the glass and rollers, take a soft toothbrush and rub it over the glass and rollers, then finish by buffing with a microfiber cloth. To get the most from each cleaning, I run 15 photos through the left side, then 15 through the right, then clean again. It's a hassle, but it's still faster than using a flatbed and the image quality is very good. I thought about trying another scanner, but for all I know, I'd have the same problem as they all use rollers. This appears to only happen with photos; I didn't notice these lines on any of the documents I scanned.
Question:	I assume this comes with a usb cable, but i see amazon recommending i purchase one alongside. does this come with a cable
Answer:	It actually comes with a cable with a nice velcro tie wrap since you'll be wrapping it up and taking it with you if you're a business traveler. The Fujitsu folks really put some effort into this.
Question:	I'm on the fence between this model and the brother ds-620. has anyone owned both, curious which you prefer
Answer:	I just took my Brother DS-620 back to Best Buy because the software is not user friendly. I've had a S1100 ScanSnap, and let me tell you, it runs rings around the Brother DS-620. Very easy to use, great software.
