Answer:	You can, yes. The software (Silverlight) lets you do batch scanning where you set the multiple scan areas and then hit batch and it scans them in order. You must set the scan area for the tray as well (Not automatic), but it works without the trays as well.

Answer:	I agree with B. Menke on this. While I do not have a Plustek, I do use a primefilm xas (and before a primefilm xa) for 35mm film scanning, A dedicated 35mm film scanner of decent quality will give better scans than a flatbed can. However, the Epson V850 is more versatile and I use it for medium and large format film. The Epson is the way to go if you don't exclusively shoot 35mm film and cannot afford to get two scanners.
Question:	I have been using the ix500 for years and love it. Can you tell me the differences and between the ix500 and the ix1600, and why I should upgrade
Answer:	I would Google/YouTube "Wet Scanning" to get more details. But, to answer your question, yes the film will get wet. You put special fluid in the tray and then put your negative in it. At a basic level, wet scanning will help at filling in scratches, reduce/eliminate light scattering and refraction, hold the image flat to the glass, and a variety of other benefits that can help improve the image quality for scanning. It adds quite a few steps (and time) to your workflow process. Unless you were working on a special project (books, etc.), going to make large prints, I wouldn't wet scan.
Question:	What’s difference between iX1500 and iX
Answer:	Improved film holders. Also get a 2nd set to assist faster loading if working on larger projects. Upgraded software. Easier to use and faster scans, in my opinion, though may just be I am loading new set as soon as scan is completing. 600 is still a good machine but newer is usually improved and better. Hardware is not much different. Both out of same factory in Indonesia

Question:	Is there a setting for the software to prompt asking the filename after each scan instead a default naming convention
Answer:	My software as 4 main option software command buttons: black & white, color, auto color, and something like "simple scan". My color button scans auto save in the "public documents" folder of my laptop. I put a link to that folder on my desktop for convenience, then cut and paste to the final destination, renaming from an auto-generated name to what I name it. I also delete auto-named batch files afterward from software so as to avoid confusion and to save memory space. But my rightmost button. Simple scan or something, makes you manually choose a destination location and file name with completion of each scan.
Question:	Does it come with all requisite cables and cords
Answer:	Yes. It comes with a USB 3.0 cord - which is nice because it allows this high speed scanner to push all of the data through the cord quickly. USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 if you do not have a USB 3.0 port on your computer.

Answer:	This scanner does a good job with photos, but maybe not as good a job as a flat-bed scanner. I usually scan photos at the highest resolution and it does take a bit of time, but that's like 30-40 seconds rather than 1 second for a B&W document.

Answer:	No, only 90 days from the Seller and was able to purchase additional protection from Amazon, Asurion

Answer:	You can, but flatbed scanners are best suited for photos. The main reason is because this style of scanner uses mechanical rollers to feed the document through. Every once in a while there can be a paper jam, if it is a photo, that could mean it gets damaged.

Answer:	I'm not sure; I can scan to pdf's. Something in your settings must not be set up correctly.

Answer:	Duplex scanning is automatic two-sided scanning. You can set up defaults for simplex and duplex scanning so you can use as needed. I generally use simplex scanning; if you have a page with heavy print that "bleeds" through to the reverse side of the page, it can cause duplex scanning (if that is your default setting). I don't like the extra "garbage" in my scanned documents
