Question:	Is water resistant
Answer:	I own the case, however I have no idea if it’s water proof or not. I would guess that it might protect the radio from getting wet if you were moving in and out of the rain, such as going from a building to your pickup. I wouldn’t think it would be a dry box if you are out in the rain all day.

Answer:	Case works great for the SDS100, with Nylon holster case on the SDS100, fits the 2 Ant. the data/power cord and the adapter and usb wall charger.
Question:	my antenna is 9 1/2 inch long... will it fit
Answer:	I haven't measured it but the description says the case is about 7 1/2 ". I would guess that it would not fit. Check with the company to make sure.
Question:	Not meant for cobra hhrt50 can radio.. it can fit the radio from top to bottom but antenna to long and cannot fit ext. ant. or anything else
Answer:	I use this case for a Uniden 401 HH. The antenna has a quick connect fitting and must be removed, and placed beside the radio in the case. I also have room for the power cord to fit in the top, inner compartment.

Question:	how do you keep the mic cord from getting in the way
Answer:	Most folks position the move-able mic loop up by their collarbone or shoulder, then clip their speaker mic to it. This tends to extend the mic cable and has it laying along the shoulder strap, just as you would with a leather radio strap.
Question:	Does this muffle the sound of the speaker
Answer:	It depends on the radio that you have. If you have a Harris radio, it will muffle the sound unless you have a shoulder mike. I love tis holster but you have to make accommodations for your model of radio.

Answer:	Yes, the shoulder strap is fully adustable for nearly all body sizes. For 2020, due to customer feedback, the strap was lengthened (to approx. 62") to better fit taller folks, but it can be easily be shortened to fit just about anyone.

Answer:	It shouldn’t be rebooting. Based on how many cameras you have and what resolution your recording at determines how many days your records stay on the drive. My setup consists of 16 cameras running at 1080 and recording at 1080 so I only have three days of recordings before the drive start to recycle them.

Answer:	It might if you have an electrical outlet in your vehicle and know the counties and area in the state you are traveling.
Question:	Can you receive regular AM/FM stations on this unit
Answer:	Unfortunately, you can't receive radio stations on it. However, there is a built in alarm that can be set. I hope that this answered your question.
Question:	does it have battery back up power
Answer:	Yes it does but I tested this and I unplugged it to see how long my batteries would last with new batteries and they were run down in less than a week

Answer:	Hey Drakkenfyre barring any manufacturing anomalies the UV-5R accessories, including batteries and the BL-5L, should be compatible with the 5x3. Essentially they are the same radio outside, just different electronics/firmware inside. If you are unlucky to get one of the bad batteries visit the Miklor.com web site for all information about the radio, and this http://kj4ajp.mambm.com/BL5L/ for repairing the battery to make it fit. Question:	We cannot pick anything up. All static. Occasionally fire department. What's the problem
Answer:	This radio uses all the battery options and accessories that fit the UV-5R or the BF-F8HP. So yes. You can use both the AAA and the AA battery eliminators as well as the extended batteries.Hope this helps.
Question:	Can I pick up police frequencies with this? I live in a high crime and would like to listen in to the chatter for pure entertainment purposes
Answer:	All radio transmitters and some other emitters must have FCC certification. Commercial and public service require Part 90 certification. Other services like FRS and GMRS fall under other parts of the rules. As part of the certification process the FCC issues an FCC ID number for each design of transmitter. I have used the FCC ID to determine the frequency range and modulation type of radios before by doing a Google search of the number. There is also a search page on the FCC site. The only radio service exempt from these regulations is Amateur Radio. Ham radio operators are directly responsible for their emissions and have demonstrated sufficient knowledge of the rules and electronics by passing an exam. Most of the Chinese radios are therefore marketed to Ham radio operators since most do not have any FCC certification. They are also not legal to use on commercial, FRS and GMRS frequencies unless they have the FCC certification number or a sticker with the numbers on them. The UV-5X3 is a perfect example. The sticker under the battery affixed to the radio calls it an Amateur radio and there is no reference to FCC certification or ID. There are some of the UV-5R radios that have a part 90 certification sticker on them but they are mostly the older models like the UV-5RV2+. If programmed correctly so the end user can not operate the radio on frequencies they are not authorized to use they can be used for commercial and public service. They are not certified and are not legal to use for FRS and GMRS even with the part 90 certification.
Question:	DO YOU NEED AN OUTSIDE ANTENA
Answer:	We have a 100watt repeater (before 2013) for local / regional and achieve 200 miles every day, and a few long haul repeaters that are 1.5KW to backhaul between other repeaters and their base stations. We could use VoIP between repeaters, we are just blessed to have a mountaintop that we use, and just expanded as another liscense holder gave up their space, so we have another relay tower. For security I won't say where, but you likely have used it without knowing. So listen to everyone here and join your regional and national clubs. They fund 30-40-% of our operations.
