Q:Why is my shipping label not completely printed? Toos mall or only part of it?

• A:If you were printing your labels on a regular printer previously, please change your label size from 8.5"x 11" to 4"x 6" on the website that generates your labels.
• Most platforms including eBay, Shopify, and others support both sizes but are set to 8.5"x 11" size by default.

Q:Why i am printing blank labels?

• A:1)The most common reason is that the labels were loaded upside down. Please ensure your labels are properly loaded, the tearable side up.
• 2)Ensure your labels are "Direct Thermal" labels, The paper enclosed in the package meets this condition.

Q. Can not set up with your Mac computer?

• A: If there is a error ‘pkg’can’t be opened because it is from undentified developer when installing the driver, please follow the steps below to allow the macOS to finish the installation.
• Go to the Security & privacy
• Select to allow the 'labelprinter.pkg' in the option pointed.
• Then you can install the printer driver.

Q:How to run the calibration of printer?

• A:1 ,Turn on the printer, Load at least 4 consecutive sheets of label into the printer.
• 2, When the loaded labels stop moving, press the FEED button(red/green light) and hold it until you hear one ‘beep’ sound, then release the button.
• 3, It will spit out two blank labels, and the label's gap should stop on the printer's edge. The LED will turn green after the printer confirms the laebl size.

Please be advised that it is a thermal printer so using a plastic label is not suggested. Question:	Is anyone else confused by the 'free' printer advertisement? or is it bait & switch? example: you get a free car when you buy these tires for $20k
Answer:	I looked on the Dymo website, they are still offering the printer for free IF you buy 20 rolls of labels. Even at the least expensive price of $10 for a roll of address labels, you are looking at a cost of $200. You would have a lot of labels, but I don't need thousands of labels. At the Amazon cost, it is still a good deal (IMHO)
Question:	Can this label maker connect to a laptop besides a PC or Mac
Answer:	At Dymo we only have software to support PC and Mac.
Question:	Can it print oil change labels
Answer:	I'm an old certified ASE automotive technician. I cannot remember the company's name, but now there a numerous ones out there who make the labels for oil changes. Talk to your local technician and he should have catalogs of all company's that sell automotive form specialties. I had piles of them laying around the office. Hope that helps.

Question:	Will this work with the Ptd400 model of brother label maker
Answer:	Clearly states on package that the XL is equivalent to up to 2.5 times the regular cartridge. I think it's worth the difference. I always buy XL when available. Shop often and you'll find you can catch a deal where 1 XL is cheaper than 2 regulars too! More details than that can be found on back of package. Look in Walmart or something and you can read it. Can't find image of back or side shot on here.

Answer:	I recently checked the HP site because they have a better detailed specs than Amazon. HP 61 page yield: 190 pages. HP 61 xl page yield: 480 pages. Even if you purchase 2 - HP 61, the page yield is still less than a single HP 61 xl.

Question:	Does it waste a lot of tape when printing
Answer:	No-it does not waste tape-I have had many labelers over time and this is the easiest to use efficiently.
Question:	Does it print two or three lines
Answer:	This printer has a wonderful imaging model that scales to arbitrary sizes. I tested this and quit after printing 15 lines of text on a 6-mm tape! The lines were too tiny to read, of course, but the point is that the number of lines is limited by legibility, not by the software - which is the way it should be.
Question:	Does this labeler waste a TON of tape on the left margin like the Brother units do
Answer:	I have/had a Brother P-touch: I bought the DYMO 160 because it does not waste tape like the Brother does! For those who think the DYMO wastes tape,, you have no idea, buy a brother and you only get to print on 40% of the roll. That is a generous guess...
Question:	Does the tape need to be purchased separately - or does it come with your first roll
Answer:	It comes with a roll of 1/2" x 10' black print on white labels. The rolls purchased afterwards in the 1/2" width are 23' long and last quite a bit longer than the first roll will last, especially if you calculate in the misprints during the learning curve!

Question:	Can i use with a window based computer or does it have to be a MAC
Answer:	We just got out of a Cricut class tonight, 10/14/2019) at a local Michaels. We (my wife and I) both downloaded the DesignSpace software in class from the Cricut website to our Windows 10 laptops and after downloading a small Windows add-in, were able to launch DesignSpace, create and cut projects successfully from out laptops. We also had out Apple iPads and downloaded the Apple Store DesignSpace app and had no problem using them to design and cut. Can’t speak about the Mac though...
Question:	I am looking to get my first Cricut machine. Will the faster speed matter or should I save some money and get the previous version to learn on
Answer:	The only difference between the air1 and air2 is the speed of the cut and the color options for the machines. I have the air2 and I honestly haven't even tried the faster cutting option because I've been cutting really delicate things and I was afraid that it would rip the material at a faster speed. I guess this question depends on how much you would use it and for what. I don't, by any means, think the air1 is "slow".
Question:	I want a machine to cut out my own designs from photoshop/illustrator, I'm not interested in any of the library images etc. Can this do this, well
Answer:	Through personal experience, the Cricut Design Space software let’s you upload svg files, but not ai or eps. The best advice for cutting images from Illustrator is to use a USCutter instead, it uses a software called Sure Cuts A Lot and works with alot of file types (ai, eps, svg)

Answer:	There are two different setting to take care of before you get to properly print your label. One setting is actually your printer setting when you print it needs to be set 4x6. But the other one is on whatever website you are trying to get the labels from. Before buying the labels, you need to make sure you buy 4x6 size label. Then you can get that label and print properly. But if you get a different size label and try to fit it in 4x6, obviously you get some trouble getting it right. So, first buy/get you labels in 4x6 and then print 4x6. For example on paypal there is a place to setup your labels to buy/print. Just Google it, it's pretty easy.

" However, this only works if you are using very simple labels with no frame or border. Since we purchase these modern label makers for all of their graphic options, this is only a "solution " if you do NOT use 95% of the label maker's capabilities. So, NO great way to save on excessive tape margins.

Question:	Will this be compatible with Ebay
Answer:	Hi. Yes, you can indeed use this printer with the Ebay software to print labels, just be aware the Ebay software does not directly support Thermal Printers on the Mac (it does on the PC, but not on the Mac). See my original post where I explain in step-by-step detail exactly how to use the DYMO printer with the Ebay software. It involves opening the Ebay label in Apple's Preview program, cropping the label, and then printing the label directly from the Preview program. That method works and the printed label looks great, only it would be a lot more convenient and wouldn't require as many workaround steps if Ebay directly supported Thermal Printers on the Mac. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Don't buy DYMO printer. You can get a Zebra printer and get free labels from UPS. DYMO tries to draw you in with a lower price for printer, but over the long run of paying for labels you will pay a lot more. I found that if I paid $100-$200 more for a Zebra I would save $3000-$4000 per year on labels.

Answer:	I thought I'd chime in on this because I have a very similar application. They do not sell laminated labels per se, but they do offer some non-paper labels. They call it film tape. In my case I use the 2.4" wide continuous length labels and you can buy DK-2212 (black on white, 50' length) or DK-2606 (black on yellow, 50' length). Keep in mind that these are quite expensive compared to the paper labels but given the clean room application, I'm guessing paying 6X or more per label may not be a big issue when the alternative is a particle shedding label. I don't know for sure that these film tape labels won't shed particles, but the rolls I bought felt like plastic with adhesive so I'm guessing they will at a minimum shed less than their paper counterparts. If you have different label needs (not the 2.4" wide rolls) just search on amazon for "brother film tape" and you should get a lot of results. tldr: They offer non-paper labels, search amazon for "brother film tape" to find some possibilities that may work for your clean room application.

Answer:	Yes, but it requires a library like LibUSB or WinUSB and possibly a "filter" driver. For the data formats to send it, look for the raster command reference pdf on the Brother downloads site.

Answer:	Yes it does, if you open the labels from etsy in the correct format (Etsy has this option when purchasing labels, choose 4 x 6) you can then print those labels with this label printer. Also works with amazon, and any other website with a 6 x 4 label option. However, the original labels for this printer are expensive compared to the industry standard, I recommend the Arkscan 2054A if you want inexpensive labels. (Currently, the cheapest Third-Party labels for the brother are enKo labels, but they aren't the right size and don't work correctly, so the original DK Brother labels are about 12 cents per label. The generic labels for the Arkscan are the same as for zebra and other printers, at around 2 cents per label.)
