| Answer: | HP, the manufacturer, tells the buyer on the package info approximately how many pages each ink cartridge should last. I own 2 printers that use this cartridge and I purchased the 2nd printer specifically because it is the newer model of the 1st printer and it uses the same cartridges. I have been super impressed with the life of these cartridges. My Lexmark I purchased a few years back only printer 500 black copies for the same ink cost with HP's 950XL that prints 2500 black pages. I use the XL version of the cartridge and it is supposed to get 2500 pages on the XL cartridge (and that sounds about right on actual use). So the regular cartridge (which is what comes with the printer) getting about 1800 pages does sound correct. I do recommend purchasing the 950XL cartridge if you do a lot of printing. It runs roughly $35 on Amazon. |

| Answer: | Yes it will. The doc can be scanned to pdf to your computer or directly into an email that you send from the printer without the need of a computer. The printer also has an address book function for frequent recipients of your pdf attachment emails. In the case of a multi-user environment (e.g. a small office), there is a code option for your email address so other people cannot send pdf scans directly from the printer using your email credentials. This is a very versatile printer and easy to use. I have purchased three of them! |

| Answer: | Also - never use a cartridge that isn't HP - I didn't know this, thought it was like any printer that they want you to buy theirs but another works. Wrong. Was ok for the first 6 months so I didn't think there was a problem. Entirely destroyed my printer. Can't use it because it won't recognize the HP genuine cartridge, and will not print if all 4 are not present. So I have a 200 paperweight now. I went on to Canon - Canon doesn't have this problem. |
