The tolerance of the roller positions seems rather precise (you set it to the thickness of the laminate you are using), so that a carrier sheet would add extra thickness and have to be adjusted for. They do ask you to run a cleaning sheet (provided) through after several uses to pick up any stray bits of glue that might have stuck to the rollers. It seems just like a regular piece of paper to me, but maybe there is something special about it. |

Foil stamping is affected by temperature, speeding, pressure..etc. The normal laminators are designed for the thermal laminating pouches, not for the stamping foils. Different material requires different temperature, pressure and other conditions. Besides, Minc foiler has 4 rollers inside, while Fellowes only has 2 rollers. And I also guess Minc foiler is designed specially for its own brand stamping foil. So, if you do not have a high requirement on the foil stamping effect, just want to get a cheaper model . You may try this fellowes laminator. Otherwise , i advise you to buy MInc. foil applicator |

| Answer: | I realize this question was asked quite a while ago & I’m answering it bcz the previous answer is INCORRECT. You don’t add this with anything - it’s ready to use as it is. Now, the company recommends that if you’re using this product, which is the “Virgin Snow” white toner, that you bleach your hair 1st & then blow dry it. This gets the hair very porus which, is what helps it to absorb into the hair best. Some people will need to go through the bleaching process more than once to get the hair as light as possible (between an 8 & 10 - the higher the number, the lighter the hair). Now after bleaching, the hair ends up being yellow & brassy. This is the product that will not only “correct” the yellow/brassy tones, but it will also “whiten” it. It will take on a those cooler undertones & take on a cool white shade. Now in order to maintain this shade, you will need to use a purple shampoo a couple of times per week. You can also repeat this process between root touch-ups too bcz it is only a semi permanent type of toner & has no ammonia (which means there’s no traditional 10, 20 or 30 volume developer in it). So this is a product you can use after bleaching & after root touch-ups. Purple shampoos &/or conditioners are what you use between bleach/color services & root root touch-ups. If you’re noticing your hair isn’t as vibrant as you’d like despite using the purple shampoo, you can repeat this “Virgin Snow” toning step again if you’d like, or try a more permanent type of toning process altogether. Idk what this other person was trying to communicate in her response but her answer was incorrect & it’s not even clear what she was suggesting to do. You see, bleaching, coloring & toning can be very confusing for those who have never done it before & it’s SO EASY to get confused, frustrated & make mistakes & wind up with undesired results. Going very blonde like this is easy to screw up or ruin your hair & that’s why I decided to dismiss her response & give my own feedback. I’m actually surprised nobody else has, especially with the amount of people who have been following the cool toned hair color trend over the past few yrs. Better late than never I guess. A lot of people read & depend on customer reviews & feedback & a simple oversight can turn a process into a hair bleaching nightmare, which can be devastating. So maybe this can help someone to avoid making an avoidable mistake. There are other ways of toning hair, like using purple shampoo &/or conditioning masks that have purple pigments in them & there are even purple toning drops that can be added to any shampoo, conditioner or styling products & I personally use all of these techniques in between root touch-ups & color services, but people choose this one bcz it doesn’t require any mixing or buying any other products. But the one drawback is that this type of toning only offers semi permanent results, but it is still a ready to use product & doesn’t have any ammonia in it - which is found in most traditional toners that you mix together. Now one other thing, if you’re using this over hair that’s already been tones previously or as a root touch up, I recommend applying to the roots first & leaving it on there for the amount of time it recommends (30 min) & only adding it in to the rest of the hair for the last few minutes (maybe 10-15ish). |

| Answer: | I don't know where it is made but fyi, we bought one at work & paid quite a chunk for it. It had a 2 year warranty. We used it from time to time, not real heavy, it sat for 4 months with only being used twice in that time (1sheet, each time) after the end of it's warranty had expired. We started it up to use and it wouldn't heat. We tried everything before calling in, they told us the motherboard was fried. We believe they built it to fry shortly after the warranty expired, forcing us to buy a new one. We will no longer pay a large amount for a laminator. We only do 3 mil & 5 mil so the cheaper ones will be just fine. |

| Answer: | You get some laminator sheets. But I knew I would need more, so I got a box of the 3 ml thick sheets...on amazon, and a box of the thicker 5 ml sheets....on amazon. The 3s are great for wall signage at the office. The 5s are for the standing signage I use w these cardboard adhesive wing stands I use. Also amazon. |

| Answer: | If you use a lamination carrier it will allow you to use any size lamination in the machine. It's basicly a piece of card stock that's the size of a 11x17 piece of lamination. Be advised that if you are using thicker lamination and a lamination carrier the machine may jam. I wouldn't suggest using anything bigger then 7mil with a lamination carrier. Hope this was helpful. |

| Answer: | According to the comparison chart above (scroll up), it says Amplified "Semi-Permanent - has 30% more pigments and last 30% LONGER then Classic High Voltage". So, this Amplified product has 30% more pigment and 30% more lasting power than the Classic High Voltage line. I would imagine if you really just want a temporary color that will wash out soon, use the Classic line, if you want something that could last a bit longer, try the Amplified line. |
