Answer:	I believe it will recognize all properly formatted (SATA or S-ATA) Serial Advanced Technology Attachment drives, either 2.5" or 3.5".

Answer:	The functions are almost the same. The most difference is on the material. FD2102 is made of Aluminum-alloy material with better quality.
Question:	When cloning a drive does the target drive have to be a larger capacity than the source drive or can they be the same
Answer:	When used as a stand alone cloning device it must be of equal or larger capacity. When used with software such as Macrium Reflect as a docking station to clone a HDD or SSD it can be of lesser capacity. I have used a docking station and PC running Macrium Reflect to clone an operating system with all files and setting from a 2TB HHD to a 1TB SSD several times. The target SSD can be half the capacity (or less) than the source drive but the source drive data including all partitions and must be less than the total capacity of the target drive. It does take a PC and software to accomplish this. The free copy of Macrium Reflect is all you need. There are videos on YouTube that will guide you through the process. I have never used the stand alone clone feature of any docking station to clone a hard drive. I've had 100% success cloning with a PC and software for years. I wouldn't chance any other method than I use now.
Question:	Is there a power saving mode? Is there a way to disable it so that the disks are always on

It should be unnoticeable to the user but I think I have a way of making the unit think there is disc activity (if it is essential to you to keep it awake) but I will have to test this out and add more information here in a day or so. There is no way to disable this sleep mode as it is built into the electronics of the unit.

Answer:	I did not attempt cloning. However, as part of a security wipe I did write several passes of zeros using disk management tools and it worked perfectly. Therefore, I think it should work for cloning as well but as with most things "computer", no guarantees...
Question:	can I copy just some files from a hard drive or can it only clone the full hard drive
Answer:	FYI, if you want to initiate to offline clone, then it will clone the whole content, OS and spare space included, of source drive to target drive once conducted successfully. It is not available for choosing just some files to be cloned. Actually, you may paste the part files from one drive to another via computer if needed. Hope this helps.
