Answer:	There is an interlock on the shredder that prevents it from operating unless it's sitting on the shredded paper receptacle - usually a switch in a slot on the head that is closed by a tab on the receptacle. If the bag doesn't interfere with that interlock, it should work. A very thin bag, or a bag cut out specifically to not interfere with the interlock, will likely work.
Question:	Is this a medium duty cycle for a small office
Answer:	It would be great for a small office. Just be careful not to put thicker sheets or folded sheets in too often or it will overheat the system and you have to wait 15 - 20 minutes for it to cool down. Stick to one or 2 sheets at a time. If you have a lot of paperwork, you may want to go up a size because the basket fills up pretty quickly. Overall, it is a good little machine.

Answer:	Great question... I checked the Instruction Manual to find that there is no mention of a warranty... It's a lazy Sunday afternoon (August 17th, 4:34 PM PDT) so I called Amazon Customer Service (1-800-216-1072)... The very nice lady who answered (Marya) tells me that while the warranty information does not appear anywhere on the Amazon website, there is a one-year warranty on ANY AmazonBasic product, including the 6-sheet cross-cut paper shredder (ASIN# B00HFJWKWK)... Good to know... We've had this unit a couple of months and love it... Only challenge is that we generate a whole heckuva lot more shreds than we imagined... Would be great if we could order a basket about three or four times as large...

Answer:	It does have auto, reverse, off, as well as an additional button for Jam Remover/CD Destroyer

Answer:	If pulls the paper into it in the angle that if first grabs the paper. And since it's just a small bit wider than 8-1/2", this means that you need to be careful and start the paper in straight, or it will be pulled off to the side. Then if there are too many pages, it'll jamb. I found 3,4 will still be pulled through even if crooked, but 4 or more will usually need for you to bump the Reverse button and pull it out a few inches to re-position. Then it will finish up OK.

I thought that was a little odd so I contacted Amazon and was told that the warranty is usually upheld with the manufacturer but if they are unwilling to work with you, Amazon will generally work with you to honor the warranty. I will rely on Amazon's assurance as I want to give this shredder a try.

Answer:	You can use any trash liner that will fit in the bin. I think we're using 33 gallon size. As a side note, the manual says there are hooks/tabs inside the bin that are there to hold the liner, but we found it easier to drape the liner over the bin itself. It doesn't look as pretty, but it minimizes the shredded paper that ends up on the floor.

Question:	Why the 1 to 2 month shipping time
Answer:	1-2 month shipping time? I went back and looked at the item, it says prime eligible, which is just 2 days!
Question:	What kind of lubricant/sharpening sheets are recommended for this machine? Or is an oil better
Answer:	The manufacturer says ' DO NOT USE OIL". I purchased the NUOVA Shredder Sharpening and Lubricant Sheets, they are simple to use. I use one sheet a month, just run sheet through shredder then run in reverse for ten seconds. I have been doing this since I purchased the shredder and it has reduced the paper dust that builds up on the underside of the shredder head and I don't have the problem of paper sticking to the teeth.
Question:	Can this handle shredding the new credit cards with chips in them? My last shredder is now broken because of the chip cards
Answer:	I honestly do not think chipped credit cards would be an issue at all. I doubt the shredder would ever notice it. The chip is a very thin fragile piece of copper. Try to find the manual online for the shredder you are looking at, if it can handle staples and small paperclips, then a chipped card would be nothing.
Question:	how many sheets of paper can you put in at once
Answer:	Do you want the "official" answer or a practical one? Officially I believe the previous responders are correct by saying 8 sheets. From my experience, I believe that if you were to feed in sheets eight at a time, you would find that the shredder would soon overheat and the circuit breaker would trip off. That requires a somewhat lengthy cool-down period before you can resume shredding operations. (If you only go through a limited number of cycles of 8 sheets each, that would be okay.) In my experience, it generally handles 4 sheets at a time over a prolonged period. This is the case when I am clearing out last years credit card receipts, utility bills, etc. That can add up to a fair amount of paper for shredding. Is this a scientific exact answer? No, but it is what I have done to get good results from my shredder. Have I ever tripped the circuit breaker? Yep. They say experience is the best teacher. While this is somewhat long winded, I hope it gives you a useful answer for what to expect.

Answer:	The smallest opening it will fit is 12-13". I put it over a cardboard box and then put the entire box out for recycling. Or sometimes my recycling bin.

Answer:	No, does not fit a 12" wastebasket. I tried. I use mine on a larger rectangular wastebasket. I'm very pleased with this product. Have had it a while and use it almost daily to shred mail and such. One word of advice. DO NOT try to shred anything that has that glue found on mailers. That sticky stuff you have to rub off. THAT will jam the machine. ALL shredders, not just this one!

Answer:	How do you reset the automatic overload protection once the machine stops running. Even the green light does not come on. I plugged directly into socket and have emptied the container.

Answer:	I am going to quote the advertising information + Safety Lock feature disables shredder when not in use for added safety protection. I also find the paper slot to be quite narrow. Fingers or paws are way too big to be able to enter the slot. The shredder blades are a good two inches below the top of the slot. The paper slot is 3/16" wide. A pencil will not fit into the slot. I am well pleased with the machine. I do quite a bit of shredding so I do not mind emptying the bin every now & then.

Answer:	Here's what you need to know: 1. Once a month or so, fold a piece of paper, and squeeze some shredder oil along the crease. Then shred the paper. 2. Don't try to shred 10 sheets of stiff paper at a time. 3. Don't let the bin fill to the top— It will make a mess when you try to empty it. Other than that, this is the best shredder I have ever had.

Answer:	If the envelope has a plastic window, no....otherwise, no problem..don't try to shred adhesive labels either. It will shred credit cards and CD/DVD's.

Answer:	Small cheap shredder at home = 5. This one = 2. This is located in a cube farm, and it is not offensive even though I have direct line of sight at a 15 foot distance.

Answer:	It is larger than a typical home shredder, but I love it. If you are shredding several times a week, this is a good model. Only, don't shred junk mail envelopes with the cellophane windows. They melt as the shredder gets warm during use, and it can clog the shredder. I found that out the hard way. Otherwise, really terrific machine!
