I thought that was a little odd so I contacted Amazon and was told that the warranty is usually upheld with the manufacturer but if they are unwilling to work with you, Amazon will generally work with you to honor the warranty. I will rely on Amazon's assurance as I want to give this shredder a try.

Answer:	You can use any trash liner that will fit in the bin. I think we're using 33 gallon size. As a side note, the manual says there are hooks/tabs inside the bin that are there to hold the liner, but we found it easier to drape the liner over the bin itself. It doesn't look as pretty, but it minimizes the shredded paper that ends up on the floor.

Answer:	There is an interlock on the shredder that prevents it from operating unless it's sitting on the shredded paper receptacle - usually a switch in a slot on the head that is closed by a tab on the receptacle. If the bag doesn't interfere with that interlock, it should work. A very thin bag, or a bag cut out specifically to not interfere with the interlock, will likely work.

Good to know... We've had this unit a couple of months and love it... Only challenge is that we generate a whole heckuva lot more shreds than we imagined... Answer:	The unit is made in China. I cannot tell what the gears are made of without tearing it apart. The cutting teeth are metal. You will be opening and closing the unit often because as the paper builds up in the shredder it stops working until you either push the paper down or empty the unit. It does shred very well and I have yet had to stop shredding because the unit overheated.
