Question: how do these connect to a speaker? do u need to buy separate wires and stuff
Answer: It comes with RCA cables. But a lot depends on what equipment you’d like to hook up. Do you have an interface, are you just using a laptop, and what speakers are you planning to connect to it. The subwoofer has a crossover and depending on what you like to connect to it you will need the cables to make those connections.

User questions & answers

Question: it is 220v power
Answer: No. Just regular 110
Question: Guys, are these speakers 9 lbs each or 4.5 per spaeker. Says shipping weight 10.8 lbs
Answer: 4.5 per speaker
Question: How do they handle bass
Answer: the sound frequency rang is 80hz-20,000khz. That means they are not capable of low frequency extension below 80hz. Which means you will not hear any sub-bass at all, and any bass notes will be on the high end of the bass spectrum, i.e., no mid-bass. In order to hear any real bass, you will need to add a subwoofer, which is difficult because these have no subwoofer outs, so you'd have to run them through a preamp with subwoofer outs to separate the bass channels at the source. With that being said, they are very clean studio monitors for desktops or small rooms. I have owned these as well as the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1, which do have a subwoofer. The Klipsch aren't marketed as studio monitors, but they are tuned very nicely for music listening and provide all the bass you could ever ask for. The CR3s are maybe a little bit cleaner in the mids and highs, but there is no way to make bass magically appear without a subwoofer, because the frequency response just can't go that low.
Question: is it a pair
Answer: Yes, it does come as a pair and may I tell you they are worth every penny. I use mine in a diesel shop environment that is always loud and high noise levels, especially from air operated tools. these put out great sound at 3/4 volume enough to be heard 2 work bays from mine. the main reason for my purchase was because i was so tired of my bluetooth cutting out, the endless battery replacement , and no feeling from the speaker I used to use... these are great thumpers !

User questions & answers

Question: I will want to use these wirelessly with a laptop computer and an iPad. How awkward will it be to switch the speakers from one to the other as needed
Answer: If you just pair the 2 devices to these monitors you will just have to turn Bluetooth off for the device that you don't want connected at the time.
Question: What is the most effective cable to connect these to mac pro? are these cables included? if not, what are some of the best available options
Answer: If your system has a 3.5mm audio output (most systems have such a connector for headphones), you will be able to connect it using that (these include a 3.5mm to RCA cable, and mines also included a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable to connect an input to the front AUX input). Additionally, the CR4BT also has bluetooth, so, you could use that as well (I bought the *no* bluetooth version).
Question: Does anyone know if this could be used for editing videos with my imac? im not sure if this is only for pc
Answer: I own a pair of these, they are plug and play...
Question: How much does one speaker weigh of the cr4bt
Answer: It’s going to depend which speaker. One has the amplifier in it, the other is just a passive speaker. Which would you like to know about?

User questions & answers

Question: can you leave the back on/off switch on all the time, using the volume knob to turn off and on
Answer: I have the speakers in my bedroom and measured the power consumption. The speakers consumes around 11-12 Watt while it's sitting in idle. The back side panel gets a little hot because of this power consumption. The front switch (volume knob) does not disconnect the power, judging by the back panel temperature. Only the back panel switch can truly disconnect power. A paranoia person wouldn't want to leave it on as it may take the worst possible path as components age. Now about the idling power consumption - it can be justified by a class A amplifier, which is supposedly providing better sound quality.
Question: Hello, what's in the box
Answer: two speakers, AC cable, RCA cable, 1/8"to RCA, interconnect zipline.two 1/8" input output holes on the front, with the volume control.
Question: The description says the dimensions are 8.5 x 15.3 x 11.5 inches, but for 3" speakers that would not match the image. What are the real dimesions
Answer: The actual round speaker that the sound comes from is 3 inches, but the entire cabinet (the entire black box) are the dimensions you listed
Question: I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but can these be used with a subwoofer
Answer: Absolutely. This is how connecting the Mackie's and a Polk PSW10 to a computer worked for me:1) Mini Jack into PC audio Card for surround speakers. (1 of 5 inputs) This used a mini jack to RCA cable which was included withe the speakers.2) Mini Jack into PC audio Card for Subwoofer. (1 of 5 inputs) This used a mini jack to RCA cable.* NOTE: If a person's computer only has one audio out, they simply use a splitter to make two audio outs.3) Set Computer Audio software for 2.1 Sound (Oddly, my software required setting to 5.1 with rear speakers off).4) Set Subwoofer volume knob to 1/2-3/4. Set the crossover to ~80-90Hz.5) Play music or a movie and set the monitor volume for a desired match with the Sub.Now that the sub and monitors match volume, don't touch the volume knob on the sub or the monitors. Just use your computer to adjust volume up/down. The sub has a sensor which will turn itself on/off. One monitor has a switch on the back to turn the pair on/off.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the signal-to-noise (snr) ratio? i can't find it posted anywhere
Answer: don't know, bit speakers do sound good ..
Question: Do i have a defective pair or all the mackir mr series "pop" when turning on or off
Answer: Pops usually occur when there is signal going through the inputs. Your best bet is to turn down the signal all the way off going into the speaker. I would also look into how the speakers are plugged into the power source, make sure its grounded.
Question: Anybody heard these to compare them with krk rockits? i have a 10s sub and 6in monitors i'm looking to maybe replace with these
Answer: Don't know about the krk rockits, but I've used mackies pretty much my entire career, 450's as a mobile DJ, and now these as my home studio monitors. The beauty of Mackie is the richness of the highs, and the fullness of the bass in their equipment. Hope it helps.
Question: is this for a pair
Answer: Yes. I bought mine last August 2017 for $299.99 and it was for two (or $149.99 each).
