User questions & answers

Question: I can use them as a monitor speakers just make a connection from preamp red wire let say to be right white be the left
Answer: You definitely don’t want to use these just as monitor speakers. Theyre meant for recording studio audio mixing and adjusting so they have a very flat response to them. They also don’t have the red/white audio hookups on them so you wouldn’t be able to connect to them unless you wanted to use a mixer as well which is pretty extensive for simple everyday use. Unless you are intending to use them to produce music with I would not suggest these. Otherwise when used for their intended purpose they are amazing.
Question: If you wanted to use these with a desktop computer what would be a good usb dac for these
Answer: Most dacs don't color the signal significantly, to the point where it is very very difficult to tell the difference. Check Amazon reviews for dacs. There are tons out there. Your budget is the limit, but I wouldn't Sent a whole lot, since in the last few year prices have gone down quite a bit.
Question: How do i get balanced quarter inch trs outputs from an audio interface into the xlr input on the focals
Answer: TRS and XLR are both balanced connections meaning you can buy a XLR (M) to TRS (M) and not have to worry about the trashy signal RCA offers. But make sure your audio interface has two 1/4” stereo ports otherwise you’re going to need a joining adapter.
Question: Can these be connected to a phono preamp using standard RCA cables
Answer: Hello Dom - thanks for your question. You will need to first plug your phono stage into a preamplifier for volume control. Dan DEDICATED AUDIO

Product description

The Twin6 Be is the best seller of the Focal Professional range and the most versatile work tool of the SM6 line. It represents the only necessary solution for recording, mixing and mastering. The image precision, treble definition as well as midrange neutrality are at the heart of its reputation. The excellent articulation of the bass and midbass registers, even at very high sound levels, makes it an unavoidable reference for engineers who require absolute transparency. Furthermore, the design of the Twin6 Be permits a high SPL while at the same time offering a stable tonal balance. One of the two 6.5" woofers works in large band (midrange - bass) whereas the other reproduces from 40 to 150Hz. This creates a bass that preserves all the signal dynamics, without any masking effect in the midrange, thereby keeping all its neutrality and transparency. Additional control of the bass register is accomplished by fine-tuning on the control plate on the back of the Twin6 Be in order to obtain a perfect mirror configuration with its mate. The Twin6 Be can be installed vertically or horizontally to respond to the space requirements of each studio. Beryllium inverted dome tweeter The inverted dome tweeter is a hallmark of Focal.
