Answer:	I have tried 3 different brands of AA NiMH batteries in DR60DmkII and all work, though I have the BP-6AA now because the DR60DmkII goes through them so quickly! Though accessible when on a tripod, changing the batteries required that I lift up tripod + backup recorder I mount on top on its side. The BP-6AA + DR60DmkII lasts all day with six 4th gen Eneloops. As noted, just remember to change the "Battery Type" menu item under Others > System to NiMH.
Question:	How man lav mics does this come with? How many jacks are they? I need at least 2 jacks
Answer:	Right now I use the Blackwed, model # BWB15TA223, it's a 8000mAh bank. Was able to get a few good hours out of it.

Answer:	This one has pretty red colored handled in front - Seriously, after field and smoke testing the DR60D and this one, you prob won't be able to tell any difference. It's still a good unit, don't get me wrong; the DR60D is a great unit that I have used paired up with a Rode NTG-2 for a lot of great audio, but aside from a 'better' preamp (which most people won't notice in the audio quality anyway) there isn't a reason to upgrade to this if you already own a DR60D - Although I will say the colored handles do look pretty cool, but not a valid reason to upgrade from the previous unit. If you own the previous one, no need to get this. If you're in the market for one, get the newer one. Cheers!

Answer:	You'd think. I own both. The interface is similar to the DR-40, but very much cleaned up and simplified. The physical layout addresses some of the DR-40 quirks, particularly the one where headphone levels were put on the front panel and input levels relegated to a pair of buttons on the left side -- the DR-44WL reverses that. The display screen makes levels much more prominent. The ports (line-out, combo XLR / ¼ inch inputs) are identical.But, adding WiFi and smartphone controls makes this a less-direct successor. The DR-44WL seems much more optimized for multi-tracking, and a little more hostile to easy external mic inputs.

Answer:	The DP006 is an entry level 4-6 track recorder. It's not a professional board, but it does what it claims to do very well.
Question:	can you record a live performace
Answer:	Absolutely! However your results will depend on the placement of the device. You could record a live performance using either the internal mic or using external mics strategically located. This little unit is pretty diverse in it's application. Results depend on your recording acumen. Which develop over time.
Question:	Can you transfer your recording to a thumb drive
Answer:	You record individual tracks that are then mixed down by you into a stereo mp3 with this same unit. From there, you can do anything with the mp3 file - put it on a thumb drive, email it, upload it, etc. If you are asking "can you go directly to thumb drive?", I don't think there is an easy way. It has an SD card that you can take out and put in any card reader, then you would be able to transfer onto a thumb drive.
Question:	does this need external speakers or are they built in? also what would be a good micraphone to use for i need one further away from the unit
Answer:	It does need some sort of device to output sound. It is equipped for headphones. You can use any mic you like as well as a condenser if you have phantom power capabilities. The onboard mics are good quality as well.

Answer:	Turn off "Phantom Power" in the menu and that should solve the problem.

Question:	Can I listen to the recording through the headphones as I'm recording it in real time. Or only during playback? I need monitoring capability
Answer:	Yup. In addition to the levels displayed on the screen, you can listen in real-time as the audio is being recorded. There are separate adjustments for recording sensitivity and the loudness of the headphones, so keep that in mind.
Question:	Can I schedule recording? I want to record a late-night radio show while I sleep
Answer:	If you set it to MP3 (256), it records for a long enough period that it will probably capture the late-night radio show. You'd need to edit out the unwanted material on the front end. Even though I have several purchased audio editors, I normally use Audacity which is a great little editor, and it's free.
Question:	How long of a recording session will fit on this, and can you download it to soundcloud easy
Answer:	Version 2.0 of the DR-05 includes a 4 gigabyte card. With this space, you can record up to 3 DAYS of mundane "podcasting"-quality audio into a 128kbs MP3 file. Since Soundcloud supports MP3 and WAV (PCM for computers) formats, you should not have issues. You will need to use the included USB cable and copy the files off the device manually. I wouldn't call it "easy", but it's doable for anyone that's previously copied audio or pictures from a digital camera or a mobile phone.
Question:	Would this be good for a podcast with 4 people
Answer:	Would it be "good", as in "studio quality"? No, but "podcasting" isn't supposed to be studio quality anyway. Definitely possible with the right external mic. The sound quality would be passable, and everyone would have to be close to the mic, (since it would have to be an omni-directional stereo mic.) On the positive side, the set-up would be very simple: plug in mic, turn on microphone power (in record menu) double-tap the record button, and start talking. Oh, and also very cheap: DR-05 $85USD, $26 for an omni stereo mic and maybe blanket to cut down on echo behind the speakers. The included mics are sensitive, but they are better for ambient sound rather than vocal recording.

Answer:	Sorry, my last answer was for a different tascam unit. I’ve used this unit on continuos record for a couple of hours. What I discovered is that when I did this it creates multiple files for the continuous recodimpng. And at times there was as much as a 30 second or more gap between the files.
