10 best guitar wireless systems

Guitar wireless systems, also known as wireless guitar systems, are essential tools for modern musicians, providing the freedom to move around the stage without being tethered by a cable. These systems are widely used in live performances and offer several advantages. Here's what you need to know about guitar wireless systems:

  1. Components: A typical guitar wireless system consists of two main components - a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is attached to the guitar, and the receiver is connected to the amplifier or sound system.

  2. Wireless Technology: Guitar wireless systems use various wireless technologies, including UHF (Ultra High Frequency) and VHF (Very High Frequency), but the most common and reliable choice is the digital wireless system, which offers better sound quality and interference resistance.

  3. Frequency Bands: Wireless systems operate within specific frequency bands, and it's crucial to choose a system that operates in a frequency range that's compatible with local regulations and other wireless devices in use. Many wireless systems offer the flexibility to change frequencies to avoid interference.

  4. Range: The range of a wireless system varies depending on the model. Basic systems may offer a range of 50-100 feet, while more advanced systems can provide ranges of 300 feet or more. The choice of range depends on the size of the stage and venue.

  5. Channel Selection: Multi-channel systems allow you to select different channels or frequencies to avoid interference or to use multiple wireless systems simultaneously on the same stage.

  6. Battery Life: Battery life is an essential consideration for wireless systems. Most systems use rechargeable or replaceable batteries, and the duration they last on a single charge can vary. It's important to have spare batteries or a backup system for longer performances.

  7. Sound Quality: Modern digital wireless systems provide high-quality sound with minimal latency. The sound is often indistinguishable from a wired connection.

  8. Ease of Use: Many wireless systems are designed to be easy to set up and use. Auto-scan features help you find the best available frequency, and some systems include intuitive displays for monitoring signal strength and battery life.

  9. Diversity Reception: Some advanced wireless systems offer diversity reception, which uses multiple antennas to minimize signal dropouts caused by interference or obstructions.

  10. Compatibility: Ensure that the wireless system you choose is compatible with your specific type of guitar or bass, as different systems may have varying input options.

  11. Cost: The price of wireless systems can vary widely depending on the features and quality. Professional-grade systems with advanced features will be more expensive than basic ones.

  12. Interference and Regulations: Interference from other wireless devices and local regulations may affect the performance of your wireless system. It's essential to understand and comply with these regulations.

In conclusion, guitar wireless systems are valuable tools for musicians who want the freedom to move on stage without being tethered by cables. They offer reliable and high-quality sound transmission, and the choice of a system should be based on factors like range, sound quality, ease of use, and budget.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this transmitter fit into the surface plug on an Ibanez SR
Answer: It also work with a 9V battery , Model: 6F22
Question: Does it have a headphone jack so that it can be used without an amp for practice
Answer: With guitars this short, you're better off tuning it higher. It'll maintain string tension better from my understanding. I think it's usually a fourth higher. Like having a capo at the 5th fret of a standard guitar. So the 1 and 6 strings are tuned to A rather than E.
Question: Would two sets of these work for a guitar>pedal board> amp? To make a fully wire less rig
Answer: Depends on his height. If he’s a bit small or standard height for his age, it will be great. If he’s big for his age, it might be s gamble.
Question: How natural does this sound on a fine acoustic guitar using a piezzo/preamped pickup like fishman or lr baggs
Answer: It dose not have a truss rod

User questions & answers

Question: Can you use more than 2 of these on same stage
Answer: I have an acoustic with active pickups and it works fine. Works fine on my passive electric pickups too.
Question: Can I use this from mixer to powered speakers for audio and live voice? Wanna get rid of cables to speakers
Answer: Never tried that before and not sure it will work, but worth a try.
Question: Do they work with a guitar with active pickups
Answer: We do not suggest to leave them in charging too long, because this will harm the battery, and also there is a safety risk as always. Actually speaking, there is power indicator LED lights on the back side, which will remind you when it is in lower power and need charging, or it is full and no need charging any more, so that you will not forget to charge them, or over-charging them.
Question: can you use 4 sets of these at same time? when we try more than 3 we get interference
Answer: The manual shows an example of 1 receiver and 4 guitar pedals (w/transmitter), implying a practical multi transmitter setup. If 1 receiver is used, and multiple transmitters are connected on the same channel (ex, 1 bass, 1 uke, 1 violin all on channel 3) as long as they're not used simultaneously, would they function properly?

User questions & answers

Question: What is the battery stand by life ? If I have a full charge and use 30 min can I use an hour a week later without recharging
Answer: You should be able to realize 5 continuous hours . Its best to keep the battery up to charge between playing time. It will increase the battery life overall.
Question: What is the warranty for this product
Answer: One year factory but have and used many products like pedals etc. Have had not one problem
Question: Taylor gs mini with gs mini pickup - will this work with this set-up
Answer: Hello, thank you for your question. It probably won't work - Most Taylor guitar pickups use TRS for balanced out. If the output is balanced, B-5 won't fit it.
Question: Who can answer what is the difference between NUX and xvive u
Answer: They are two different models made by two different companies that serve the same function. The NUX comes with a carrying case that also charges them which is nice. I never owned the XVive. My NUX stopped pairing after about 7 months of use. Also, the NUX added a high pitched squeal when being used with my guitars with active pickups.

WL-50 Wireless System

With the WL-50, it’s never been easier to bring wireless freedom to your pedalboard. Driven by new BOSS technology, the WL-50 delivers premium sound and a plug-and-play experience that eliminates all the hassles normally associated with wireless systems. The stompbox-sized receiver fits right alongside your other pedals, and includes a docking port for charging the transmitter and automatically setting the best wireless connection. There’s even a handy DC output, allowing you to distribute power to multiple pedals on your board.

Setup is quick and simple, and you’re able to move about freely while playing at home, jamming with friends, and performing on stage. Once you experience the wireless independence provided by the WL-50, you’ll never go back to using a standard cable again!

Lightning-Fast BOSS Wireless Technology

Equipped with high-performance BOSS wireless technology that debuted in the Katana-Air wireless guitar amp, the WL-50 delivers exceptional sound quality with wide dynamic range. Working in the 2.4 GHz frequency band, the system automatically accesses the optimum channel to ensure rock-solid audio performance with absolutely no drop-outs. And with ultra-low latency of just 2.3 ms, you’ll always enjoy great playing feel with no lag whatsoever. Up to 14 BOSS wireless systems can be used simultaneously in one space, allowing multiple musicians to enjoy wireless freedom at the same time.*

*Environmental conditions may affect the actual number of simultaneous systems available.

Just Another Pedal on Your Board

The WL-50 has a slightly smaller footprint than a standard BOSS compact pedal and can be powered just like your other stomps, making it an easy addition to any pedalboard setup. Simply place it at the beginning of your chain and connect the receiver’s output to the first pedal. The receiver is also equipped with a regular ¼-inch input jack, so you can always use a traditional guitar cable in a pinch.

The WL-50 features a built-in dock that’s used to charge the transmitter and establish the wireless connection. The system’s streamlined profile is maintained even when the transmitter is docked, with a total height that’s about the same as a normal BOSS stomp.

Plug In and Rock

Once you’ve installed the WL-50 on your board and charged the transmitter, it’s literally as simple to use as a standard guitar cable. Just dock the transmitter in the receiver, wait about 10 seconds, and then plug the transmitter into your instrument. That’s it! The optimum wireless connection is set automatically during docking, with no other user operation required.

The WL-50 includes two selectable cable tone simulation options that reproduce the natural capacitive effect that’s introduced when using a guitar cable with standard passive pickups. You can also bypass the effect when cable tone simulation is not desirable, such as when using an acoustic/electric guitar with an onboard preamp or an instrument with active pickups.

Battery-Powered Operation for Mobile Gigging

At street gigs and other mobile performance situations, running your pedals on battery power is often the best choice. The WL-50 receiver can run for up to ten hours on two AA batteries, allowing you to take your wireless setup with you! While running on battery power, the receiver is unable to charge the transmitter. But don’t worry—you can still charge it using a common USB adaptor (5 V/500 mA or higher), the same type used with most smartphones and tablets.

When the receiver is powered via a BOSS PSA-S adaptor, it becomes a power distribution center for other stomps on your board. By using an optional PCS-20A daisy-chain cable, you’re able to power a number of BOSS compact pedals at the same time.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the life of the system on a single charge
Answer: If the Martin dsr-2 is an acoustic/electric? They will work perfectly - I have an acoustic/electric Ovation and the sound reproduction is excellent - great product and well worth the money, which isn't much at all - go for it, you won't be sorry. I even use them with my Alesis electronic drum kit with no issues at all.
Question: What is the battery stand by life ? If I have a full charge and use 30 min can I use an hour a week later without recharging
Answer: I use a single port, 110 volt USB charger. It plugs into a receptacle and the double headed USB cable that comes with the units plugs into that single port.
Question: What is the warranty for this product
Answer: From my experience, the signal appears the same as from a cable. I don’t notice any real difference, one way or the other.
Question: Taylor gs mini with gs mini pickup - will this work with this set-up
Answer: I plug it into a normal 110 outlet with a usb and adapter. I just leave it for several hours.

User questions & answers

Question: can these be used in tandem with another set as in one transmitter guitar 2 foot pedal receiver out foot pedal transmitter to amplifier receiver
Answer: no
Question: How long does it take to charge and then how long does the battery last for? I read it's 5 hours one place and 7 hours somewhere else
Answer: I play an Ibanez 5 string bass. When the transmitter stays in place and you find the sweet spot of plugging it into the guitar, it works fine. The problem I am having is mainly caused by gravity and the plug not fitting overly tight to keep the transmitter in place. When you move around, the transmitter can loose good connection. Other than that, for the money, it is a decent piece of equipment. More in the prosumer category.
Question: it says "not fit for active pickup" does that mean it only works with passive pockups? why would that matter
Answer: Anything you would normally plug in with your cable this is the replacement to make it wireless.
Question: Will these help me convince my wife I need another bass
Answer: I just plug the usb mini into it and it charges up. Pretty simple. Plug n play

Question: Csn i use with acoustic with battery powered preamps
Answer: Yes, I have used this with several strats and it works great.
Question: Can't I use a 1/8 adaptor and plug into my phone to play music thru my amplifier
Answer: It is quite poor for me. I wouldn't trust it for more than 45 minutes to an hour. Usually it's the transmitter that powers out on me. I suspect they cheap out on the batteries and so they don't retain their longevity.
Question: Are there any issues with leaving them plugged in on a rack w/usb ports so i never need to remember to charge them
Answer: yes
Question: Q: How many transmitters can one receiver support? If more than one, can I buy the transmitters separately
Answer: We have two pastors using wireless microphones and there is no problem with interference.

User questions & answers

Question: Will it work on a martin DRS
Answer: if I'm understanding correctly- I think you are asking to chain these... you can have separate sets in your band./ the unit finds its own frequency.to clarify - you plug the transmitter into your guitar. then the receiver will go anywhere at the beginning of your set up-- if you use pedals.if you don't use pedals- the receiver gos straight into your amp. I think you are asking to have 2 sets -- one set from guitar to pedals- then your pedals out to the amp with the other set.(I don't see why this wouldn't work) you really do want to go wireless eh?consider these as one looong cord. the transmitter is one end of the cord (guitar) the receiver is the other. either amp/ or pedal board/effects board.. etc..the only issue I see with that set up is a delay before your mix gets to the amp. I have a feeling there will be a little bit.
Question: If i wanted to plug it into a 110 volt wall outlet to charge instead of usb, what would i need to get to adapt from usb to the wall without frying it
Answer: I charge mine after every gig--- takes about 20 minutes- I am not going to test it to see how long it lasts.. so far 4 hours and it didn't die..id think 7 hours is about a safe limit- if you play 2 gigs in one day you can charge in between with ease. uses a usb connection just like your cell phone, charge it in the car/van on the way to next gig.
Question: Do these add any noise to the signal compared to cable noise or are these quieter
Answer: I have 4 acoustic guitars all with powered/battery pickups. So when I purchased the Xvive U2 I was skeptical. When the U2 arrived I put it through extensive testing. All 3 of my Taylor guitars (814, 855 &LKSM-12) have the ES2 pickup and they worked perfectly with no background noise or interference . Connections we're made into a Mackie Fx12 mixer. My Gibson classical nylon, equipped with a C-1 with a L.R. Baggs Anthem, had a background hum making it unusable with the Xvive. So it may depend upon which powered pickup you have. I ordered a second U2 transmitter so I could switch guitars through the same receiver and it works just fine.
Question: How long do you charge for and at what voltage
Answer: For sure, however, I recommend you buy a second one after you buy your 30th guitar. But be careful the female of the species seems to notice when you buy a new one. So here’s what I did: I came home with a new guitar and the wife said “did you buy a new guitar?” I said no. She said” I’ve never seen that one before”. I replied “hold on I’ll be right back to explain”. Then I went to the garage and brought in another new guitar. I told her “ no I bought two new guitars!” Do this a couple of times and she won’t be so upset when you only buy 1 new guitar. I’ve also heard “ how many guitars do you need, you can only play one at a time”. To which I reply “ I don’t know but I’m gonna find out”. She says if I buy one more she’s gonna leave. Damn, I’m gonna miss her!!!

Question: Have you ever noticed a bit of static/ noise that fades when you first strike a note after a few moments of silence
Answer: If Ibanez SR300 has 6.35mm jack, our GWS-8 guitar wireless can be applied to this guitar!Thank you for supporting our wireless guitar!
Question: This wireless guitar systems sometimes makes strange noises while in use
Answer: Dear Freind, Thank you for your friendly inquiry about Getaria wireless guitar system. What a shame! There is no 3.5 audio jack on the wireless guitar transmitter side, so you can't plug any headphone jack into the Getaria wireless guitar system, we suggest you a set of Getaria wireless guitar transmitter and receiver in this situation.
Question: I found my wireless guitar systems cannot be charged properly
Answer: Yes, this will work. You can put a pair of these anywhere you would use a signal cable. I chained 3 pair to see if they would flake out and they did fine. Pair the one from the guitar to the pedal board, then pair the one from the pedal board to the amp. You can also pair the one from the pedal board to the amp and a third from the amp line out to the mixer. Granted this is not how you would usually go from the amp to the mixer, but it works. Do not plug it into anything that would normally take a speaker wire. That will fry it as there is amperage on the line.
Question: Can 2 transmitters send to one receiver
Answer: I play nylon guitars exclusively...my best is a Amin Hannika Torres with no amplification, so I use that as a standard. I have a Gary Zimnicki with a non-amplified piezo that goes direct to my AER60. It sounds the same whether I use a high quality cable of the Getaria in a concert/club setting; in the studio there is a slight drop-off that most listeners could not discern. I also use a 2002 Ramirez a/e with a Fishman preamp and piezo (i never use the microphone component); I cannot tell the difference between cable or Getaria mainly because the preamp changes the clear acoustic quality - not bad or good, just not like an unamplified guitar. As an aside, I have a Taylor with espresso system, an L5 that I put P90s on, and a 5620 Gretsch with black top histones, and on all of them the Gertaria is great, no hum, no noise, no interference. But the big thing for me in all settings - live, studio, rehearse, practice - is have NO cord to tangle, step on or buzz. I don't give recommendations, but I bought 2 sets of these to have while one is charging, and will buy them again if these break. I've used them for about 4 months.
