Shure mics are the best and the setup has enormous range through walls and closed doors even going outside it still is perfect. I have been thinking of getting an extra headset and ended up here. The headsets are a lot cheaper than I was expecting! A person needs the transmitter and the body pack for it to work (FYI for somebody buying this...if you don't have the transmitter and battery pack slash receiver this headset isn't functional without the rest of that) I'm not sure if the headset will work with non Shure transmitters and receivers or if like how somebody has to use Chevy parts for a Chevy and can't use other brand manufacturers parts ...I prefer Shure components only because the reliability, quality and durability is as good as it gets.

Answer:	Hi,You will first need to know the particular frequency band of your BLX24/PG58. It can be located on the back of your receiver on a silver sticker or where you put in the batteries for your handheld microphone. It will most likely be H8, J10, K12 or M15.If you are looking to use the PGA31 along with your current system, you will then need to purchase a Shure body pack transmitter called the BLX1. You will need to make sure you purchase the same frequency band as your current system in order to pair it properly. Once you have that, all you do is plug the PGA31 into the body pack, match the group/channel the same way you would with your handheld microphone and you're set.Also, Shure has discontinued the K12 and M15 frequency bands and brand new body packs for these frequency bands will be harder and harder to find as time goes on. Shure has also recently discontinued the H8 frequency band, but these should still be available for a while.The new frequency bands that will be replacing the discontinued bands are the H9 and H10, but they will not be able to pair up with any of the other discontinued bands.

Answer:	There is no difference in the unit itself other than what frequency band it operates on. Different frequency bands will have different occupied / non-occupied channels which could affect whether you have interference or drop outs during use. The H8, K12 and M15 bands are now discontinued and not recommended for future use. The current bands are the H9, H10 and J10.
Question:	Why would one buy the H8 versus the M15? I see they are different frequency but what would that mean
Answer:	I am not sure about an Ion. My receiver unit connects to a Fender Passport PD150 PA system using a standard XLR Male/Female cable.

Answer:	No. Each bodypack model work with different frequencies. You must check the specs of the receiver and find the matching pack.

Answer:	As the previous answer has stated, this is not a stand alone system. This is just the wireless microphone system which you will have to connect to a sound system or a portable PA system which can accommodate the 1/4" (phono) or XLR plug. You will also need a 1/4" or XLR cable as Shure wireless systems do not come with one. As for the system itself, the BLX14/P31 comes with the standard PGA31 headset, which a lot of fitness classes use, but is prone to rusting over time. Shure also offers a fitness headset which is more resistant to sweat and humid environments called the SM31FH and is included in the full wireless system called the BLX14/SM31. Both are excellent systems for fitness use though.

Answer:	It has a single plug measuring a quarter inch in diameter...hence the QTR in the name. It is the same as the plug you find on a guitar cable that plugs into an amp. Hope this helps :)

Wearing the Headset

Place the headset wireframe around the head so that the wireframe and elastic band are horizontal across the back of the head and the ends of the wireframe fit over and in front of the ears. Position the elastic headband either above or below the wireframe to provide the greatest comfort and stability. The white “SHURE” should face outward.

Positioning the Microphone

IMPORTANT: For maximum gain before feedback, position the gooseneck so that the microphone grille (silver side) is within 25 mm (1 inch) of the right corner of the mouth. Do NOT position it directly in front of the mouth.

Adjusting the Wireframe

If the headset feels loose or uncomfortable, carefully bend the sides of the wireframe to make it tighter or looser (Figure A). The angle of the wireframe earpieces may also need adjustment (Figure B).

Elastic Headband Adjustment

Adjust the tension of the elastic headband across the back of the head by sliding it up or down the ends of the wireframe.

Answer:	The unit does not come with rechargeable batteries. I would assume you could get rechargeable AA batteries to use in the transmitter. The receiver is AC powered, and does not use batteries.

Answer:	The SM35 has the larger frequency response range at 40-20k Hz compared to the SM31FH's 45-20k Hz so the SM35 will be slightly better for singing. The SM31FH (Orange) features sweat proof/resistant features which will prevent rusting in humid environments.

Question:	Can this be used with in-ear monitors rather than the mic
Answer:	The PGA 31 works well. Have used it during live gigs without problems. With any headset mic you lose vocal mic control, but for a musician singing (I play drums) it's a very good option. It's good for a backup singer? For lead vocals better to get a regular mic and mic stand.

Answer:	There is an on / off switch on the bodypack. Unfortunately, there is no mute button.
Question:	Is there a mute switch on the microphone or body pack? This is very important for a wireless headset when communication on stage is needed
Answer:	No. This is a single channel receiver so only 1 transmitter can be used at a time.
Question:	Can i buy this set and then add 4 headset/mic into the same receiver
Answer:	The transmitter has s single toggle switch which is used to turn the unit on and off when held down, but can also be tapped quickly to put the transmitter into standby mode. This basically amounts to a mute button.

Answer:	Great for vocals honestly. That is 100% of what we use it for. We host conferences for 800-1500 people and use this and it’s perfect.

Answer:	not directly, you would still need one more interface to convert to USB. I don't know of any wireless systems that also have a built in computer interface. plenty of wired options but I don't believe anything of quality exists yet wirelessly

Answer:	Assuming the unit is the same one we bought the antennas are internal on the mic transmitter and external on the receiver. The picture at the left of the question doesn't match our units.
Question:	Internal antenna
Answer:	We own two of these systems. The only way we can get the for transmitters to work is if they are on separating channels. For example, all odd channels or all even. I started out with channel 1,2,3 and 4. That did not work and gave terrible crosstalk. I now have them setup as, 3, 5, 7 and 9.
Question:	It says you can use up to 12 systems, does this refer to 12 Receivers (24 Transmitters) or only 12 Transmitters
Answer:	The size, (dimensions) for these are all the same. The difference is the frequency range the wireless microphone use ? I highly recommend you to review www.shure.com and find out the recommended frequency (group) for your area. It can greatly reduce the interference.

Answer:	This would not be the most ideal microphone for a vocal Mic for a drummer... the beta 98h/c is a clip on Mic used for wind instruments... for example... trumpets, saxophones, etc... I would probably recommend the headset version of the Shure GLXD... hope this helps!
