User questions & answers
Question: | can i record through garage band |
Answer: | honestly I've never separated the cabs I Velcro'd it stacked so its like a full stack, lemme go check THEN...................................... OK checked, heres the lo Down.. the chorus is in full stereo meaning it echos in both right and left speakers however its simultaneous and does not PAN left and right like an echoplex or true stereo echo that I could tell? you'll laugh anyways at the chord that comes with the 103, its like 24 inches long.. WHY? its phone plugs so EASY to find old home style phone cables, dunno your age maybe you've never seen one? yea int he day we had our phones connected to a wall outlet with a cable, its like a small like cat5 (rj45 is the standard name) you've seen cat5 its what your computer hooks up to the Ethernet with..all in all its WELL worth it its a GREAT little amp specially with the full stack setup, the echo works FANTASTIC and quite frankly I wish I had one that worked that well on my bigger stuff despite the non stereo panning, I have a Johnson Two Fifty and a Digitech GSP 2101 studio tube for all that stuff, yea man get a Johnson 150 250 or the digitech GSP 2101 if you want true stereo panning, WOW, I work it in QUAD and can dial it in however I like cuz its FULLY programmable with algorithms!!!tell you what tho I have mic's this little Blackstar and IT ROCKS!!! yup, if you have a board that does stereo panning then there ya go! crank n go, funny what I like to do is plug my acoustic into it then mic the Blackstar through the PA and recording or playing live that way SUCH A NICE CRISP CLEAN SOUND because yo don't have all that power in the way stepping on its own dork soaking up all the interference if ya know what I mean, try it you will be totally surprised, typing in this minuscule dialogue box is difficult at best, why so small Amazon?its a great little box (fact I tried em all cept the orange that I'm told is compatable and it smokes them ALL)not sure what you need it to do but for whatever the hunnerd for both is a FANTASTIC deal considering what it can do and the sound that can come out of it... distortion works well too, I love the little thing i use it at the park then in my bedroom so the neighbors can sleep and I don't have to pay finesfor an electric I use a nice 61 Strat that has some really really hot hand wound Gepettos then those run into a FULL Clapton mid boost, the works, yup so that lil boost in signal really makes that Blackstar a beast in its own rights..all in all I give it 10 stars with the other speaker |
Question: | it has a footswitch jack, can you go from a clean sound hit the switch and go into over drive for a solo |
Answer: | Blackstar has their own power supply specifically for this. Amazon sells it on it's own for around $20, and I believe when you buy the 3 pack, the Blackstar power supply comes with it. I can't say for sure, as I bought just the single unit. Save yourself the trouble and buy the 3-pack - the amp on it's own is incredible, and the stack is well worth the price. Just make sure it comes with the proprietary Blackstar power supply. |
Question: | Does Fuse work with this amp |
Answer: | absolutely not ! The fly 3 runs on 6volts /positive tip . When you buy the fly on amazon, the planet waves adaptor is suggested . My friend bought the fly to his son and pluged it on a 9 volts adapter...... he blew the amp . You may pay a little more but buy the right adapter, it works well and saves batteries |
Question: | What is in the box |
Answer: | Yes, for the extension cabinet, which expands this from 3w to 6w. The 3-pack is a good deal, because a) you get better volume but mainly because b) it includes the power supply, which means that c) the extension cabinet is virtually free. |

User questions & answers
Question: | This is a 40 watt amp? For 179... does it have built in distortion and reverb and delay? Thanks |
Answer: | No tubes, this is a solid state amp. But I must say it sounds very authentic to the legendary Vox amps from the sixties, either played clean or overdrive. I rate this amp five stars. |
Question: | What function does the tap button perform? Thanks |
Answer: | I have an Epiphone es339 and I am pretty happy with it. It's really not a bad little amp. A casino should sound good through it. |
Question: | what size is speaker |
Answer: | It is only 10w. I find it more frustrating that between the gain channel and clean, there's a large volume setting difference. I have to turn up the volume a lot when I switch between them to clean. |
Question: | is the power cord |
Answer: | Very little to none...Only time I have noticed any was when i had it powered through a AC plug in my SUV. In home use i have noticed none. It is a great little amp. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What kind of power supply does this use? Can I plug into the wall or does it take batteries? I'm not very familiar with amplifiers, thanks |
Answer: | Documentation does not say, not on the box either. Coverage area indicates it is 2.4. Works very well I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck. |
Question: | Would this be good for Karaoke (I have a Karaoke Mixer) or for connecting to a Projector to boost the sound |
Answer: | It depends on the dealer's policy. |
Question: | Does it come with a wire |
Answer: | Just received the DWS-3 system today on recommendations from numerous reviews and forums. Plugged it in using my Warwick Thumb 5-string and GK mb500. No discernible difference from using a standard cable. Handled the low B string just fine. I’m confident it will do fine at gig this weekend with GK+SWR Goliath III cab. |
Question: | Can this amp used for violin? Does it has speakers |
Answer: | As it is I found that mine did also , after research for a few minutes I found that it was my input jack on the guitar . Don’t know if this helps but I cleaned mine with a burst of compressed air and it helped but ultimately I changed the jack out for a new one and I now have crisp and clear sound . |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it worth the extra $300 to get the Rumble 500 head and the 410 and 115 cab, rather than the combo + the 115 extension |
Answer: | I have the 210 combo and 115 extension. The 115 comes with wheels and I put the 210 on a rock and roller cart. Extremely portable and very loud, it will get louder than your ears can stand. I would say the combo and 115 are plenty. Not worth getting the head and 410, just a waste of money and more weight to carry around. |
Question: | As a stand alone unit, are the 210's pushing 500 watts, or do you need to attach another cabinet at lower ohms to get your 500 watts |
Answer: | As a standalone unit the two 10 inch speakers are pushing 350 Watts at 8 ohms (Internal). You need to attach an external 8 ohm speaker cabinet to get 500 Watts. Attaching the external 8 ohm speaker cabinet brings the total impedance down to 4 ohms and that is when you get the maximum 500 Watts. |
Question: | I'm helping a friend pick out a bass & amp for her son. Would this amp be loud enough for a small entry-level garage band |
Answer: | I remember way back when I was in my first band. I had an ampeg B-15 and it was woefully underpowered. All I got out of it was a ton of distortion. It can be very frustrating for a new player to have to deal with poor sound. I’ve known guys who have given up playing because of the frustration of dealing with noise instead of music. I would use a 25w amp for practicing by myself but for a garage band I would go with a minimum of 100w. |
Question: | is this amp usable in new zealand |
Answer: | I turned mine upside down and it still worked so I suppose it will be OK down there. (On mine, input power is marked 100-120V @ 50-60 HZ, 70W.) |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this only for acoustic guitars |
Answer: | I wouldn't plug an electric guitar into it, just as you wouldn't want to put acoustic strings on an electric guitar |
Question: | I wonder if this is decent enough to be used as a speaker for my laptop or phone as well? To play music in general besides plugging in my acoustic |
Answer: | The speaker is fine. The Blackstar Fly3 with extension speaker is much better. |
Question: | can you use this amp for a loop pedal |
Answer: | You can use the amp WITH a loop pedal. The amp itself does not have a pedal. |
Question: | Each channel has its separate volume control. Do the bass/mid/treble and equalizer controls effect both channels or just channel |
Answer: | The bass, mid, treble, and chorus are only for channel 2, channel 1 is like a dedicated microphone input, no effects, with a mic cable input. The concept, I think, for this amp, was for the singer/songwriter, to have their sound amplified at home, or in a smaller venue. For a small amp, it sounds pretty decent, and sometimes I just use the mic input lightly amplified, with an un-amplified acoustic guitar. You could also run a mic with a 1/4 guitar type plug into channel 2, gets some (mic) effects, with an um-amplified guitar. I have not actually done that, but don't see why one couldn't do so. Musicians love different musical effects, right??? |

Perfectly portable, it delivers great tone and features for an acoustic guitar and a mic—ideal simplicity and flexibility for a variety of musical and basic public address uses at small gigs and gatherings.

For extra ambient depth and shimmer, the Acoustasonic 15’s instrument channel features a built-in chorus effect.
The Acoustasonic 15’s convenient dual front-panel inputs include a standard ¼ inch jack for an instrument and an XLR input for a microphone. This amp is easily transportable, weighing in at only 10.5 pounds. It is a great companion to have for small performances as well as a rehearsal tool in your bedroom.

In a bold Fender first, the tone master Twin reverb amplifier uses massive digital processing power to achieve a single remarkable sonic feat: faithfully modeling the circuitry and 85-watt power output of an original Twin tube amp. Using a high-performance 200-watt digital power amp to achieve the headroom and dynamic range of a real vintage twin tube amp, paired with the pronounced sparkle and clarity of two Jensen n-12k neodymium speakers and a resonant Pine cabinet, The result is tubeless Twin reverb tone, volume and dynamics virtually indistinguishable from the all-tube original. And with all these features, the tone master Twin reverb is in fact about only half the weight of an all-tube Twin. Front panel features give guitarists a playing experience identical to the tube version, including Fender world-standard reverb and tremolo effects. Additional rear-panel features deliver modern convenience and flexibility—including an output power selector for full power and five attenuated settings, balanced XLR line output with impulse response (IR) cabinet simulations, mute switch for silent stage or recording use, USB port for firmware upgrades, and more.

User questions & answers
Question: | I have a lot of pedals especially reverb/echo ones, then do I need this tonemaster or a champion 100xl will do? Pls advise |
Answer: | The Champion 100xl has a gamut of foot pedal effects built in if you check the specs on Fender's website. This may be a disadvantage or advantage to you in that you will need to use fewer effects pedals than you do at present. The Champion 100xl weighs far more than the Tone Master Deluxe reverb, which is important to me as I travel internationally. The Tone Master Deluxe Reverb has a normal socket as well as it's Reverb socket. I also have a selection of effects pedals, among them a Fender Marine Layer Reverb which I still use with this amp. The sound reproduction is fantastic even though it has only one speaker (I know that the Champion 100xl has two Celestions which are fantastic speakers). The Tone Master Deluxe Reverb's ability to power down from 22 watts to 0.2 watts was another reason why I selected it over the other Fender amps. It enabled me to hear, and enjoy, the music created without disturbing the neighbourhood whilst still allowing full volume on gigs. Both are great speakers but the Tone Master Deluxe Reverb allows more scope in what effects pedals I want to add to it for whatever genre music I want to play. |
Question: | So the tone master does a better job on the reverb deluxe then their mustang gt does ? (tm is 1 trick pony. mustang gt does 100's ofthings though |
Answer: | I have the GT 40, and this amp blows it out of the water. The GT series divides they processing power between different amps and the Tone Master uses it all for just one |
Question: | Does the Tonemaster Twin have enough clean headroom |
Answer: | Absolutely it does. Just like a normal Twin it has tremendous headroom for clean but you can also attenuate it in the back to get it to break up at lower volume. Best of both worlds. |
Question: | How would this sound with acoustic guitars? Advisable or not |
Answer: | Not advisable. Electric guitar amps intentionally distort and are designed to produce a limited frequency range. Acoustic needs a clean, full range amplifier like a Fender Acoustisonic. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is input power as 110 volt, 220 Volt,or 110-240 Volt |
Answer: | Metal band in a 1000 seat venue-no, local bar,100 people or less, normal drummer should be OK. A friend of mine has the 100 watt version and has been playing local gigs at 50 watts, says its just loud enough, works fine. |
Question: | Does this come in black |
Answer: | Yes. The extra features that it brings makes the MKII much more useful. |
Question: | How does the Aux input work |
Answer: | Runs the amp at 50 watts, 25 or .5 watts, different levels depending on the volume you need. .5 watt is great for when the kids are sleeping. |
Question: | Is this suitable for an electric violin |
Answer: | There are a few more effects on the MkII and the pots for effects are now dual pots to make it easier to dial in... AMP IN is now on the Katana to allow you to plug in a multi-effects board etc and bypass the amp settings.. The "sneaky amps" available on the MkI are blocked out on the MkII.. but you get 5 more voice settings on the 5 amps available for the MkII.. newer and easier software.. Patches made for the MkI work with the MkII, but the MkII patches do not work on the MkI. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can you use a mic with this |
Answer: | If the mic has a 1/4 inch connector then yes you can, if the mic has an XLR connection then you will need an XLR to 1/4 inch adapter to make it work. This is a practice amp so you won't get great amplification for a microphone. If your goal is to address like 10 people 10 to 20 feet away then it will be ok. If you want to get the attention of 50 people or more you are going to need something bigger. |
Question: | Does it have any effects |
Answer: | It has 30 preset effects as well as 30 that you can set yourself |
Question: | Is it for acoustic |
Answer: | If your acoustic has a pickups and an instrument cable jack (aka an acoustic-electric), then yes this is compatible. |
Question: | Does this amp come with a footswitch |
Answer: | No, but there are one button foot switch by fender available for less than $20 |

Question: | Can this be used with an electric bass |
Answer: | It should be |
Question: | Can I plug my bass into this amp and get reasonable sound for practice |

Question: | What kind of case can be used to protect it? It is very light and needs something |
Answer: | These ones are XL / extra large |
Question: | How does it compare to the Orange Micro Crush |

User questions & answers
Question: | This cable doesn't fit my Fender Stratocaster... What is this cable supposed to fit |
Answer: | The supplied cable fit my Fender Stratocaster perfectly. What size plug is on your cable? It should be a 1/4" plug. Either you were sent the wrong cable by mistake, or your Strat has an aftermarket mod to change the jack size. I've never heard of anyone doing that, but it's possible. |
Question: | Does this come with a power cord |
Answer: | Yes it does.. I did not get bundle with instrument cord & picks but I did get the power cord with mine.. hope this helps. I like the amp. |
Question: | where is it made |
Answer: | I have no idea where it was made. Bought this 2 years sgo. My grandson loves it. Does everything. Great sound.. |
Question: | Can this amp be used for an electric acoustic guitar |
Answer: | I don’t know-but I don’t see why not! |

Question: | One more try, and please read the question. the bj models before the bj iv had horrible, non linear volume controls, is the iv fixed? is it linear |
Answer: | The iv fixed it. |
Question: | Where is this amp made - thanks |
Answer: | This amp sounds great even though it's made in Mexico. The speakers are Fender (Jensen) Made in USA. It's loud as hell. |
Question: | besides 4 the stock speaker does it have an extra speaker out 4 to make it a mini like stack |
Answer: | It has two speaker outs. The primary tap is at 8 ohms. When you plug into it and the second tap, the transformer's 4 ohm tap is used. This means you can either (1) run the amp alone on the internal 8 ohm speaker, or (2) run it with the internal speaker and an external 8 ohm running at the same time (in parallel), or (3) unplug the internal speaker and use the primary output to drive an 8-ohm external speaker cabinet, or finally (4) use both taps to drive two 8-ohm external speaker cabinets. I've done them all with my 2 14 year old Hot Rod Deluxes. |
Question: | Does it have a headphone jack |
Answer: | No this amp does not have a headphone jack. |
