User questions & answers
Question: | As others mentioned, why do I keep getting generic non Planet Waves cables |
Answer: | Sound great, good price point, and are constructed well |
Question: | How would these be connected in a wireless setup |
Answer: | I dont understand your question. A wireless guitar unit used with pedals doesnt effect how the pedals are connected to eachother. One pedal is linked to another using these patch cables. The output of your wireless receiver gets plugged into your first pedal. The output then goes through your pedal chain, you then use a patch cable (longer than these) to go from the last pedal into the amp. |
Question: | Are these good for plugging a pedal directly into an amp? Ex. Are they long enough |
Answer: | No, they are very short! They are for plugging pedals into other pedals. You would still need a regular length guitar cable that plugs in from amp to pedal, and then you would use the three short cables to link several pedal together, and then a final regular length guitar cable to plug in to your instrument. I hope that helps! |
Question: | Would this be the kind of pedel i would use for nirvana's smells like teen spirit |
Answer: | Vox vt(15-100)x modeling amps compatible with the tone room app have a setting to sound exactly like smells like teen spirit without any pedals once you plug it into your computer tablet or phone with the app. |

User questions & answers
Question: | When the button is pushed , does the cable open or short to ground or to the other conductor |
Answer: | It's an on/off switch so it just simply opens the circuit. They're really nice for hot swapping. |
Question: | Can i use the cable as a killswitch like on and off but fast as desired |
Answer: | I'm not sure about this particular cable. I have some cables where the switch is a momentary switch. Pressing the button opens the switch and when you release it springs closed again to make the connection. I have other cables where the switch opens and stays open when pressed and released. It requires another press and release action to close the switch again. Interesting idea....effect can be done with guitar toggle switch too. |
Question: | Does the right angle head fit a telecaster with recessed input jack |
Answer: | I'm thinking no. This cable will only work for flush mount input jacks. |
Question: | Does this fits fender stratocasters |
Answer: | Yes |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these cables "balanced |
Answer: | This cable will work for balanced connections or stereo (left and right) applications. Balanced audio connections are dependent on what two pieces of equipment are being connected. If the output and and input of the equipment being connected are both balanced TRS connections, this will work great. |
Question: | Is this cable a good option to connect a bose tonematch mixer to a bose l1 compact |
Answer: | I am not familiar with the components you are asking about connecting, but I can say this cable is a standard 1/4 inch stereo connection - male to male. Typically used to connect musical instruments and other components that use a 1/4 inch stereo connection. My personal use is to connect my Rickenbacker bass to my Alessis mixer for stereo. |
Question: | can you plug it into a guitar then to an amp |
Answer: | Although you can, this is a stereo cable, and one typically uses a mono cable for connecting a guitar to an amplifier. There are exceptions, however, as some guitars have stereo outputs. Generally speaking, my opinion is that this is not the right cable for the job. In fact, I've been fairly unimpressed with planet waves cables all across the board. If you are looking for a good quality cable to connect your guitar to an amplifier I would suggest looking at either Lava Cable or George L's |
Question: | Can I use this to connect my guitar to a mixer |
Answer: | Yes. You would probably want the non stereo 1/4 inch for that though. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What's the capacitance per foot? I don't see that listed anywhere. TY |
Answer: | Mogami Gold is Mogami 2524 = 39.7 pF/ft The Platinum version is cable 3302 and is around 21 pF/ft. They also sell a cheaper cable with Mogami 2319 = 47.3 pF/ft. For those looking information: Among many manufacturers, the consensus “sweet spot” for capacitance is between 20 and 30 pF per foot but I've found most tend to go over 30 now days. Planet Waves American Stage is a great choice and price for example and targets a very specific 28 pF range. But note, Jimi Hendrix used a coiled cord with 3,000 pF of capacitance! So it all depends on what you want. Lower the rating the brighter/high end you'll get but too much can make a passive guitar pickup sound tinny. Also, the longer the cable, the greater the capacitance—which is why shorter cables always sound brighter. |
Question: | Will the 90 degree angled connector end connect to a 2012 Fender Telecaster? The straight end connector makes it difficult to play while sitting |
Answer: | I use the angled end for my amp so that it doesn't get knocked around on stage. I use the straight end for my guitars. On the Fender Strat, you need a straight. On my Les Paul, I use a straight and run the wire around my strap, giving my cord a loop where it attaches to the guitar. Hope this helps. |
Question: | What is the difference between this and the 18 ft - mogami 2524 - neutrik gold plated silent plug - guitar bass instrument cable - straight to angled |
Answer: | They both have gold plated plug, the different is with the silent plug, when you pull it out without lowering your volume, you don't hear that pop sound. We have those cable instock as well and the way to recognize it is the silent plug is red. |

Product description
You will love our PROFESSIONAL SERIES 10 ft Guitar Cables. They have a nice flexible tweed jacket (not the stiff plastic jacket like others sell). Our cables have Oxygen-Free Copper for both the center conductor and the insulator shield. Plus our cables are double shielded with a Conductive PVC and OFC Insulator Shield. And most importantly, our cables have a VERY low Picofarad rating. Have you ever wondered why one guitar cable sounds better than another? They may look the same, but sound totally different? The main reason is the Picofarad rating. Most guitar cables have a high Picofarad rating. Some as high as 200 Picofarads per foot. A cable with a high Picofarad rating is much cheaper to make, and they will still work, but they will not sound as good. Our cables are rated at a SUPER LOW 38 Picofarads per foot (AWESOME). Most guitar cable manufactures don't even give you their rated Picofarads because they are so high. Why would you want to use a cheap cable with a hard plastic cover, no flexibility, and a high Picofarad rating? A good cable is just as important as a good guitar or amp. Our cables have an external rubber heat shrink strain relief, internal rubber booty strain relief, AND an internal metal clamp strain relief. This triple strain relief system allows for many years of trouble free usage.
- Braided Tweed Cloth Jacket
- OFC Insulator Shield & Conductive PVC Shielded
- ONLY 38 Picofarads Per Foot
- Super Durable & Flexy
- Very Low Capacitance
User questions & answers
Question: | why is the 10' yelow cable more than the 15' and 20' cable |
Answer: | As Sept 29 '18 the pricing has sorted out where the 10 is less than the 20, and the same as the 15 and 6. Debating what size to get, as any excess can be tied off easily to avoid clutter. |
Question: | When I plug the right angle into the amp, it doesn't work. It only works when the right angle is plugged into the guitar. Is that normal |
Answer: | That is not normal. I've had great success with these cables in both configurations. If the cable is good, it may be a mechanical problem with the amp input jack. Could be as simple as the the right angle plug not seating well into the jack. Could also be a tiny bit of oxidation on the plug. Move the right angle plug around a bit while strumming or plucking a string to see if the connection comes through. |
Question: | Hi! Will this work with a ditto looper effects pedal? thanks |
Answer: | Yes, if the looper doesn't have stereo or balanced jacks. It is a standard 1/4" mono instrument cable. |
Question: | What warranty is offered with this cable |
Answer: | All GLS Audio products come with a one year warranty. |
