Answer:	Don't do it. The current going through the center conductor wire causes it to heat up relative and limited by the amount of wattage of the amplifier. Therefore the higher wattage amplifier and volume setting can cause enough heat to make the center conductor wire melt through the insulation core and touch (short) the outer shield conductor and you will blow your amp. $$$$$ ANY low line level patch cords are ONLY meant for connections between instruments, effect pedals and amplifier INPUTS (vs. outputs). This includes EVERY guitar cord on the market. I have made lots of $$$$ from those that use guitar cords to connect amplifier outputs to speakers. Speaker cables may be round like a low line level patch cord but they are not the same thing. Low level line patch cords are coaxial meaning there is a center conductor surrounded by an insulation core - covered by an outer conductor shield - which is then covered by the outer rubber (or synthetic) insulation jacket that you see. Speaker cables are like a flat lamp cord only with the out insulation cover/jacket being round. While guitar patch cords will work for connecting speakers at low volume as soon as you crank the volume up the inner core will heat up and sooner or later you will blow your amp. Speaker patch cords will work to connect your guitar to an amp but being there is no outer shield conductor you will pick up so much noise and hum through the amp you will know that you have used the wrong cord very soon. But you won't blow your amp. If you don't take my advice . . . thank you very much for helping me put my daughter through college. Actually I should probably thank your girlfriend because being many musicians are broke most of the time that's who ends up paying the repair bill. LOL
