For whatever reason, the coloful models do seem to speak a little bit more easily, but both set the bar fairly high for plastic recorders-- way better than any of the other models we've purchased, including the more expensive brown and beige 302B Yamaha model (which looks great, but is quiet and does not hit the low notes as easily as this model.)

Baroque vs German fingering - what's the difference?

The basic design of recorders was developed hundreds of years ago during the Baroque music period of the 1600's and early 1700's. This classical style is still preferred by many music teachers and schools, mostly because some specific notes play a little better in tune with this design.

In the 1920's, instrument designers in Germany felt that the standard Baroque recorder was too difficult for beginners to learn, since some notes put the player’s fingers in positions that can feel uncomfortable. Because of this, they made a small change to make those notes easier for a beginner to play. However, there's a trade-off – while the finger positions are easier, those same notes are harder to play in tune.

You can tell which version you have by looking at the 4th and 5th holes down from the top. If the 4th hole is smaller than the 5th, it's Baroque. If the 4th hole is larger, it's German. If you need a recorder to use in school, check with your teacher to make sure you get the right type!

Answer:	This mixer with its quality mic preamps (real ones, with plenty of adjustable gain) , EQ, channel output volume, etc. is far superior to the iRig Pre. I tried the iRig Pre (and reviewed it) and didn't like it. To emulate the iRig Pre connections, get a TRRS (male) adapter you plug into your phone/tablet that breaks out separate speaker 1/8" TRS (female) and mic 1/8" TRS (female) connectors. You could use either the XLR or the 1/4" outputs of the mixer as input to the mic 1 /8" TRS connector on the adapter. Unlike the iRig Pre, with a mixer like this you have the option of listening to the realtime output of the mixer from its headphone jack or plug your headphones into the speaker 1/8" (female) connector on the adapter to hear it how the phone/ tablet is recording it (which can be time-delayed making it difficult to speak live while listening to non-realtime audio).

This is used to record multiple sources at one time and make that into one Stereo/Mono audio output that can be used with a recording software, streaming software, or even a live speaker system. You can record the main output via computer, but even then, this will all be one audio stream, not one for each separate channel.

Answer:	You can either connect this keyboard to a computer with a USB cable (one side is the regular usb, the other side is an "A" still male end (the same as you would plug into a printer), or you can go out of the MIDI out with a midi cable into an Audio Interface that has a MIDI in slot. If you go straight out with a quarter inch cable into an audio interface you will receive the sounds from the keyboard and will have to edit it like a vocal mic.

Particularly useful is the way you can follow the lighted keys for either hand separately, and listen to how the piece is supposed to sound like whenever you want... when I was a kid I had eight very long years of private one-on-one piano lessons that yielded little more than screaming crying arguments with my parents on a regular basis. This keyboard took all that painful stuff away, and made the learning experience truly fun and even addictive! Naturally it takes a lot of time to learn, but when you want to do it because it's fun, learning it is a true pleasure. Question:	are the keys hammer action
Answer:	The keys do not have hammer action and are not weighted. This means they feel like an electronic keyboard, not a piano. The keys are, however, touch sensitive--meaning the harder you press them, the louder they play. In addition, the keyboard is high-quality and has a good piano tone. So, if you want a high-quality, portable, inexpensive electronic keyboard with a good piano tone, I would recommend this. However, if you want something with more of a piano feel to it, I would go with something more like the Yamaha P71.
Question:	Does this keyboard have a midi output
Answer:	On the back of the keyboard is a usb connector. It's size type-b, that square shape some printers use. (Doesnt come in the box). This not the old 5-pin midi connector; this transmits midi over a usb cable (sometimes called something like midi-to-usb host). This makes it easier to plug it into your laptop (or ipad with camera connection kit) and immediately start controlling midi apps. The older np-11 has a 5 pin, I believe. I assume there are options to convert one to another.
Question:	are the keys full-size? Some reviewers say the keys are slightly narrower than a real piano's
Answer:	I didn't measure them, but I am used to playing a full-sized grand piano every day, and in a two-hour rehearsal yesterday I did not have to compensate for any differences in key width between the NP12 and my home piano. If there is any difference, then, it is too small to make any difference to a professional player.

Answer:	I’ve been using beyerdynamic dt880 pro with this - 250 ohm - it was a good pairing so much so I rather listen through my headphones rather than the speakers. I also paired this with the audio technica ws1100 and found a bit of hissing I think it’s because of the lower ohm rating. The beyerdynamic is what I use the most.

Answer:	It truly depends on what you mean by thousand watt speakers. if that means thousand watt peak then you can easily run those speakers, if it is thousand watt continuous the EMX7 is going to be able to run them just not at extremely high volumes likely.

Answer:	I have no knowledge about karaoke specifically; but as powered mixers go, the EMX2 is an extremely good piece of equipment.

Answer:	There is a overall gain on each of the two input areas. You will need to adjust the microphone input and the music input to what you like then adjust the overall gain on the far right to gain more volume.
