Product description

  • Newly Developed Crossed XY Stereo Microphone
  • 24-bit/96kHz Recording
  • Mic / Line Input
  • HPF and Dynamics Control
  • Easy Overdubbing

User questions & answers

Question: what is overdub
Answer: Overdubbing (the process of making an overdub, or overdubs) is a technique used in audio recording, whereby a performer listens to an existing recorded performance (usually through headphones in a recording studio) and simultaneously plays a new performance along with it, which is also recorded.
Question: what is the furthest point that i can be to get a recording of a conversation
Answer: This question is too vague: the further you get the less signal you get, so it depends what level of quality and definition you want.It is definitely designed for close proximity. Ideal is one to three feet from the speaker. It is not designed for spying from a distance.HOWEVER, there is a Mic line in, so you can buy an external microphone and then it all changes.
Question: Can you use an external microphone
Answer: No
Question: Would this work for recording college lectures? Would the sound be understandable with background noise? And is it easy to use for a daily basis
Answer: First off I hate this recorder. Much to difficult to use. Not user friendly at all. Yes, it could record college lectures with good sound reproduction, but it will drive you crazy using it>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

User questions & answers

Question: Where is this made
Answer: The instrument is made in Indonesia and the little carrying bag case is made in India. Yamaha is a very durable brand.
Question: the description states it is made in the US, but what does the packaging say
Answer: made in Indonesia
Question: does it come with case
Answer: It comes with a cloth draw string bag.
Question: has anyone compared this with the Yamaha YRS24B series ivory-colored models? Is this exactly the same, or different in feel and tone
Answer: I teach a recorder class for high school students and we have about 20 models of the ivory recorders and about 15 of the colorful 20BG recorders. For whatever reason, the coloful models do seem to speak a little bit more easily, but both set the bar fairly high for plastic recorders-- way better than any of the other models we've purchased, including the more expensive brown and beige 302B Yamaha model (which looks great, but is quiet and does not hit the low notes as easily as this model.)

Product features

Start with great sound

Yamaha has been building musical instruments for more than 130 years, so we know what it takes to make a great sound. Our 20-series models produce a classic recorder tone that's pure and in tune across the whole instrument.

Easy for beginners

20-series recorders make it easy to play right from the start. The rectangular airway gives very little resistance, so even a light breath can make a clear note. A great choice for classrooms or beginners of any age!

Durable and safe

Made from the same kind of plastic used in countless popular toys, Yamaha 20-series recorders are built to last for years of reliable use. They can even be washed with soap and water, so keeping them clean is easy.

Colorful choices

Our see-through blue, green and pink models are playful, but produce the same great sound as our standard ivory colored models. Have fun with your music without sacrificing your tone.

Baroque vs German fingering - what's the difference?

The basic design of recorders was developed hundreds of years ago during the Baroque music period of the 1600's and early 1700's. This classical style is still preferred by many music teachers and schools, mostly because some specific notes play a little better in tune with this design.

In the 1920's, instrument designers in Germany felt that the standard Baroque recorder was too difficult for beginners to learn, since some notes put the player’s fingers in positions that can feel uncomfortable. Because of this, they made a small change to make those notes easier for a beginner to play. However, there's a trade-off – while the finger positions are easier, those same notes are harder to play in tune.

You can tell which version you have by looking at the 4th and 5th holes down from the top. If the 4th hole is smaller than the 5th, it's Baroque. If the 4th hole is larger, it's German. If you need a recorder to use in school, check with your teacher to make sure you get the right type!

User questions & answers

Question: Can i connect mg06x-6 to tv
Answer: here's one: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Hosa/Stereo-1-4-Inch-Male-TRS-to-Dual-Male-RCA-Insert-Cable.gc
Question: Can i connect its out to irig pre (phone-audio interface) which ultimately connected to phones for recording over iphone/ipads
Answer: This mixer with its quality mic preamps (real ones, with plenty of adjustable gain) , EQ, channel output volume, etc. is far superior to the iRig Pre. I tried the iRig Pre (and reviewed it) and didn't like it. To emulate the iRig Pre connections, get a TRRS (male) adapter you plug into your phone/tablet that breaks out separate speaker 1/8" TRS (female) and mic 1/8" TRS (female) connectors. You could use either the XLR or the 1/4" outputs of the mixer as input to the mic 1 /8" TRS connector on the adapter. Unlike the iRig Pre, with a mixer like this you have the option of listening to the realtime output of the mixer from its headphone jack or plug your headphones into the speaker 1/8" (female) connector on the adapter to hear it how the phone/ tablet is recording it (which can be time-delayed making it difficult to speak live while listening to non-realtime audio).
Question: Are the 1/4 inch outputs TRS for balanced signal to another TRS input? I'm planning on using this as a simple mixer for input to a Bose L1 Compact
Answer: The outputs are Stereo outputs, both L and R. (shown on the blue areas of image)
Question: Can headphones and stereo out be be controlled independently? I want to listen to either headphones OR speakers, not both at once
Answer: On the MG10XU there are two volumes controls. Stereo out and Monitor/Headphones out. I can't tell if this has both knobs or not. You can check the manual for the technical diagram.

Yamaha MG Series Mixers

For more than a century, Yamaha has been building a legacy of superior craftsmanship and innovation exemplified in all of our products, from an unrivaled catalog of world-class musical instruments to touring-grade professional audio. Now in its third incarnation, the MG Series embodies this pursuit of design excellence, and incorporates some of the same technologies developed for use in high-end professional consoles, including studio-quality preamps, powerful digital processing, and a rugged, reliable construction.

With an intuitive, easy-to-use interface, the MG Series boasts an extensive lineup of compact mixing consoles with models ranging from six to twenty channels, suitable for a diverse range of users and applications. For installed, recording, or live music settings, the solid construction and flexible design of these consoles lets you shape your sound with confidence, continually delivering a level of sound quality and reliability unrivaled in its class.

D-PRE (Discrete Class-A Mic Preamps)

This is where it all starts. Everything you do as a sound engineer is dependent on the quality of your preamps, which determines the direction your mix will take, and ultimately how good it is going to sound. MG Series mixing consoles feature Yamaha's studio-grade discrete class-A D-PRE preamps, which utilize an inverted Darlington circuit comprising two cascading transistors in a configuration that provides more power with lower impedance.

EQ and High-pass Filters

There's nothing more useful than reliable equalization when you need nuanced management of your tone. The MG Series benefits from Yamaha's unparalleled experience in designing pro audio gear, featuring 3-band equalizers on all mono channels for precise control of your sound. High-pass filter allows you to eliminate unwanted low-frequency noise, for a smoother, cleaner mix.

1-Knob Compressors

Compression plays an essential role in just about any recording or sound reinforcement environment by altering the level of dynamics of an audio signal when you need livelier guitars, punchier bass lines, a tighter snare, or a cleaner vocal sound. However, it can take countless hours to master the complexities of even the most basic outboard compression units and use them effectively.

Built-in SPX Digital Effects (MG06X)

For musical and non-musical applications, effects processing adds polish and professionalism to the mix. The MG06X features Yamaha's SPX digital multi-effect processor, offering a comprehensive suite of editable digital effects perfect for enhancing your mix, whether adding depth to a speaking engagement or breathing new color and atmosphere into a live performance.

High Quality Sound Op-amp

The head amp determines sound quality, and op-amp integrated circuits are one of the most important parts in the head amp circuit. MG Series mixers feature new, high-quality, custommade MG01 op-amps that we developed in cooperation with the semiconductor manufacturer. We worked directly with the semiconductor manufacturer to focus on sound quality first.

Yamaha has always strived to provide sound engineers with the purest possible signal instead of added processing or color to give it a "signature" sound, and the MG Series is no exception. Embracing this philosophy of transparent sound, these mixing consoles deliver a level of sonic purity and sound quality that is unmatched in their class.

User questions & answers

Question: Can I add echo and reverb at to the mic
Answer: Hi. Any of the onboard effects will work with the with Mic channels. One effect at a time, though.
Question: Is this mixer capable of "mix minus" configuration? If so how is it done? I cant seem to get it to produce any audio from the "fx send" port
Answer: been trying to determine this for my own setup. thus far it seems No as the AUX is post fader. im trying to isolate the mic on the FX send and have it removed from the main mix.. nothing seems to allow this to happen. i can get the FX send to work but if the usb and the FX send are connected to the same source, both signals carry the mic audio...
Question: Can this do multitrack recording
Answer: This is a mixer and not any type of recording device. This operates on USB and does not have any recording capability built-in. This is used to record multiple sources at one time and make that into one Stereo/Mono audio output that can be used with a recording software, streaming software, or even a live speaker system. You can record the main output via computer, but even then, this will all be one audio stream, not one for each separate channel.
Question: who made it
Answer: Probably someone who works for Yamaha.

A rich variety of high-quality Voices

The PSR-E373 features the latest tone generator from Yamaha, delivering the finest sound quality available in an entry-level keyboard. Enjoy 622 stunning Voices including guitar, bass, strings, sax, trumpet, drums, and percussion, as well as piano, organ, and other classic keyboard instruments, providing a complete library of musical sounds. You can even layer two different Voices across the entire keyboard as a “Dual Voice”, letting you create your own unique combinations.

Super Articulation Lite Voices

"Super Articulation Lite" Voices reproduce the unique nuances, heard when playing specific acoustic instruments, that are typically not possible to achieve on keyboard instruments. For example, if you select a guitar Voice, you can realistically reproduce sounds such as fret noise or the harmonics of nylon guitar strings.

Touch-sensitive keys for expressive dynamic control

Enjoy playing a touch-sensitive keyboard that accurately reflects every nuance of your playing, making your performances more musically expressive. Play the keys heavily for louder tones, or softly to achieve quieter sounds, to achieve true dynamic control of your music.

Apply effects to your playing

This PSR-E373 comes with a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) that allows you to apply a variety of studio-quality effects to shape the sounds to your taste.

Use the "Style" function for real-time backing tracks

The PSR-E373 features auto accompaniment Styles that automatically play appropriate backing (rhythm + bass + chord accompaniment) ensembles that you can control by simply playing root notes or chords with your left hand.

Smart Chord

Choose from two ways to play chords: “Smart Chord,” which lets you play lush sounding chords with just one finger, or “Multi,” which lets you play chords using normal fingering. Smart Chord allows you to play more complex chord harmony using simple techniques, making your performances sound great no matter your skill level.

Arpeggio function

With the arpeggio function enabled, the chords you play are transformed into a variety of musical phrases and rhythms. Every Voice has a default arpeggio type, but you can experiment by changing the type, giving you full control over your creativity!

"Keys to Success" is based on teaching techniques shared with Yamaha over many years. You can select just the key phrases of the Song—the ones you like most or need to work on—and practice them one by one. This lesson is ideal for beginning players.

Each Song consists of several steps. Each time you play all the way through the current step, your performance will be evaluated.

Download the Song Book

The Song Book includes the musical scores of the built-in Songs, and also provides tips for the on-board lessons with images, glossary and more. You can use the Song Book together with the "Keys to Success" lesson function, or as a chord score when playing with the Smart Chord function.

Play with a partner

When the Duo mode is activated, the keyboard is split in half and automatically adjusts the playing range so that each half has a middle C. This allows for duet performances or for two students to practice or learn together in classroom settings.

Backlit LCD display

A crystal-clear, backlit LCD display makes it easy to read in any light condition, indoors or outdoors. It also features a velocity meter that provides a visual representation of the strength with which the keyboard is played, which is a handy tool when using Touch Tutor in developing playing technique.

Connect a smart device

Digitally enhance the way you practice, record and share music! User questions & answers

Question: Is it suitable for a 220V power source
Answer: My keyboard came with NADY Audio earphones. But any pair of stereo headphones with a 1/4" stereo phone plug can be used, (according to the EZ-220 Digital Keyboard manual. Hope this infomation helps.
Question: Does this keyboard take batteries? If so what size and how many
Answer: Yes you can.
Question: Is this a key sensitive keyboatd
Answer: Yes you can.
Question: Does this keyboard transpose to other tunings
Answer: Hard to answer that question without more info on which online course you are taking, but I must say that this keyboard is MAGIC with it's own programmed lessons inside of it. Particularly useful is the way you can follow the lighted keys for either hand separately, and listen to how the piece is supposed to sound like whenever you want... when I was a kid I had eight very long years of private one-on-one piano lessons that yielded little more than screaming crying arguments with my parents on a regular basis. This keyboard took all that painful stuff away, and made the learning experience truly fun and even addictive! Naturally it takes a lot of time to learn, but when you want to do it because it's fun, learning it is a true pleasure. That said, perhaps you should amend your question with more information on the course that you have an eye on so others can more accurately tell you if this keyboard will be helpful for that specific course.

User questions & answers

Question: are the keys hammer action
Answer: The keys do not have hammer action and are not weighted. This means they feel like an electronic keyboard, not a piano. The keys are, however, touch sensitive--meaning the harder you press them, the louder they play. In addition, the keyboard is high-quality and has a good piano tone. So, if you want a high-quality, portable, inexpensive electronic keyboard with a good piano tone, I would recommend this. However, if you want something with more of a piano feel to it, I would go with something more like the Yamaha P71.
Question: Does this keyboard have a midi output
Answer: On the back of the keyboard is a usb connector. It's size type-b, that square shape some printers use. (Doesnt come in the box). This not the old 5-pin midi connector; this transmits midi over a usb cable (sometimes called something like midi-to-usb host). This makes it easier to plug it into your laptop (or ipad with camera connection kit) and immediately start controlling midi apps. The older np-11 has a 5 pin, I believe. I assume there are options to convert one to another.
Question: are the keys full-size? Some reviewers say the keys are slightly narrower than a real piano's
Answer: I didn't measure them, but I am used to playing a full-sized grand piano every day, and in a two-hour rehearsal yesterday I did not have to compensate for any differences in key width between the NP12 and my home piano. If there is any difference, then, it is too small to make any difference to a professional player.
Question: Does it come with a kind of support for music sheet
Answer: Yes it comes with a stand that attaches.

User questions & answers

Question: What headphones go well with this
Answer: I’ve been using beyerdynamic dt880 pro with this - 250 ohm - it was a good pairing so much so I rather listen through my headphones rather than the speakers. I also paired this with the audio technica ws1100 and found a bit of hissing I think it’s because of the lower ohm rating. The beyerdynamic is what I use the most.
Question: Does the P125 have transpose function
Answer: Yes it has the transpose function
Question: Does it come with stand shown in pictures
Answer: This listing is for the keyboard only - stand is not included
Question: What is inside the box? Cables? Sustain pedal
Answer: There is the power cable obviously and a sustained pedal, the connecting cable for the pedal is integrated. There are no other cables, in particular to connect an iPad for the Smart Pianist App (great App), you will need to get a cable from Apple store. Otherwise, there is a basic instruction booklet in the box, and a leaflet explaining how to register your P-125 with Yamaha on line, that's all.

Question: Can i plug in a 1000 watts passive speakers on this
Answer: It truly depends on what you mean by thousand watt speakers. if that means thousand watt peak then you can easily run those speakers, if it is thousand watt continuous the EMX7 is going to be able to run them just not at extremely high volumes likely.
Question: I'm setting up a Karaoke system for the wife. Is this a good add on
Answer: I have no knowledge about karaoke specifically; but as powered mixers go, the EMX2 is an extremely good piece of equipment.
Question: The emx5 has no gain knob, how are you going to adjust the input signal
Answer: There is a overall gain on each of the two input areas. You will need to adjust the microphone input and the music input to what you like then adjust the overall gain on the far right to gain more volume.
Question: Can I connect active (powered) speakers to this unit
