User questions & answers
Question: | Can I add echo and reverb at to the mic |
Answer: | Hi. Any of the onboard effects will work with the with Mic channels. One effect at a time, though. |
Question: | Is this mixer capable of "mix minus" configuration? If so how is it done? I cant seem to get it to produce any audio from the "fx send" port |
Answer: | been trying to determine this for my own setup. thus far it seems No as the AUX is post fader. im trying to isolate the mic on the FX send and have it removed from the main mix.. nothing seems to allow this to happen. i can get the FX send to work but if the usb and the FX send are connected to the same source, both signals carry the mic audio... |
Question: | Can this do multitrack recording |
Answer: | This is a mixer and not any type of recording device. This operates on USB and does not have any recording capability built-in. This is used to record multiple sources at one time and make that into one Stereo/Mono audio output that can be used with a recording software, streaming software, or even a live speaker system. You can record the main output via computer, but even then, this will all be one audio stream, not one for each separate channel. |
Question: | who made it |
Answer: | Probably someone who works for Yamaha. |

Yamaha MG Series Mixers
For more than a century, Yamaha has been building a legacy of superior craftsmanship and innovation exemplified in all of our products, from an unrivaled catalog of world-class musical instruments to touring-grade professional audio. Now in its third incarnation, the MG Series embodies this pursuit of design excellence, and incorporates some of the same technologies developed for use in high-end professional consoles, including studio-quality preamps, powerful digital processing, and a rugged, reliable construction.
With an intuitive, easy-to-use interface, the MG Series boasts an extensive lineup of compact mixing consoles with models ranging from six to twenty channels, suitable for a diverse range of users and applications. For installed, recording, or live music settings, the solid construction and flexible design of these consoles lets you shape your sound with confidence, continually delivering a level of sound quality and reliability unrivaled in its class.
D-PRE (Discrete Class-A Mic Preamps)
This is where it all starts. Everything you do as a sound engineer is dependent on the quality of your preamps, which determines the direction your mix will take, and ultimately how good it is going to sound. MG Series mixing consoles feature Yamaha's studio-grade discrete class-A D-PRE preamps, which utilize an inverted Darlington circuit comprising two cascading transistors in a configuration that provides more power with lower impedance.
EQ and High-pass Filters
There's nothing more useful than reliable equalization when you need nuanced management of your tone. The MG Series benefits from Yamaha's unparalleled experience in designing pro audio gear, featuring 3-band equalizers on all mono channels for precise control of your sound. High-pass filter allows you to eliminate unwanted low-frequency noise, for a smoother, cleaner mix.
1-Knob Compressors
Compression plays an essential role in just about any recording or sound reinforcement environment by altering the level of dynamics of an audio signal when you need livelier guitars, punchier bass lines, a tighter snare, or a cleaner vocal sound. However, it can take countless hours to master the complexities of even the most basic outboard compression units and use them effectively.
Built-in SPX Digital Effects
For musical and non-musical applications, effects processing adds polish and professionalism to the mix. The MG X / XU models feature Yamaha's SPX digital multi-effect processor, offering a comprehensive suite of editable digital effects perfect for enhancing your mix, whether adding depth to a speaking engagement or breathing new color and atmosphere into a live performance.
High Quality Sound Op-amp
The head amp determines sound quality, and op-amp integrated circuits are one of the most important parts in the head amp circuit. MG Series mixers feature new, high-quality, custommade MG01 op-amps that we developed in cooperation with the semiconductor manufacturer. We worked directly with the semiconductor manufacturer to focus on sound quality first.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can i connect mg06x-6 to tv |
Answer: | here's one: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Hosa/Stereo-1-4-Inch-Male-TRS-to-Dual-Male-RCA-Insert-Cable.gc |
Question: | Can i connect its out to irig pre (phone-audio interface) which ultimately connected to phones for recording over iphone/ipads |
Answer: | This mixer with its quality mic preamps (real ones, with plenty of adjustable gain) , EQ, channel output volume, etc. is far superior to the iRig Pre. I tried the iRig Pre (and reviewed it) and didn't like it. To emulate the iRig Pre connections, get a TRRS (male) adapter you plug into your phone/tablet that breaks out separate speaker 1/8" TRS (female) and mic 1/8" TRS (female) connectors. You could use either the XLR or the 1/4" outputs of the mixer as input to the mic 1 /8" TRS connector on the adapter. Unlike the iRig Pre, with a mixer like this you have the option of listening to the realtime output of the mixer from its headphone jack or plug your headphones into the speaker 1/8" (female) connector on the adapter to hear it how the phone/ tablet is recording it (which can be time-delayed making it difficult to speak live while listening to non-realtime audio). |
Question: | Are the 1/4 inch outputs TRS for balanced signal to another TRS input? I'm planning on using this as a simple mixer for input to a Bose L1 Compact |
Answer: | The outputs are Stereo outputs, both L and R. (shown on the blue areas of image) |
Question: | Can headphones and stereo out be be controlled independently? I want to listen to either headphones OR speakers, not both at once |
Answer: | On the MG10XU there are two volumes controls. Stereo out and Monitor/Headphones out. I can't tell if this has both knobs or not. You can check the manual for the technical diagram. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can effects be controlled independently on two channels |
Answer: | Yes, it's an analog amp, so you can just plug XLR, 1/4", or RCA inputs to it, then run the output to speakers, but you might want to look for something else if you don't intend to use the USB interface, there's a lot of options in that category. |
Question: | I plan to hook this mixer to a shure blx2 wireless handheld microphone transmitter which would be better the xlr or the |
Answer: | Yes: "USB bus powered for Mac & PC." |
Question: | Can this be used with wireless mike's |
Answer: | Yes, that is what I currently use it for. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it have phantom power |
Answer: | Yes it does. It’s pretty long too. |
Question: | Does this mixing console require a power converter for use in Europe |
Answer: | No cables are included, it just comes with the mixer and power supply |
Question: | Does this run on 220 to 240 volts |
Answer: | It uses 12V DC center-positive power with a standard 2.1mm barrel connection. I did not use the supplied Yamaha 110VAC > 12VDC converter since my Caline P1 isolated power multi-outlet supply (plus short polarity reverse cable) has a 12VDC port. The Yamaha PS supply was 110VAC so you probably need to contact the vendor if you need a 220-240V PS instead. |
Question: | Is this what i need for a microphone to work?? Daughter is singing in a park event and i have no microphone other than a cheapo from an old kareoke |
Answer: | No, I don’t think so, but you can control each treble and bass |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I record onto my computer |
Answer: | you can try taking mic/inst. insert cable and put it into a usb interface |
Question: | Can you record digital drums through FireWire from your computer into the mixer |
Answer: | I own the Yamaha MGP16X and It does not include any digital interfaces except for the USB connection for an iPod or other smart device. There is no FireWire interface to this mixer. Any audio coming from a computer or other digital device would need to come to this mixer in an analog signal. Than it can be played in the either live or recorded via the analog audio output ports. Again, the mixer is not a recorder so you will need a recorder connected to the mixer outputs. |
Question: | Does the MGP24 have motorized faders |
Answer: | No it does not. But the digital effects are completely adjustable, and you can save settings on the display screen. |
Question: | Does the mgp32x ship with a gooseneck lamp |
Answer: | I don't think it comes with gooseneck lamp |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it possibly to set up different individual monitors with this mixer? I have noticed that this comes with no aux out on the back |
Answer: | The wall adapter for the mixer is only listed at 120 Volts so you would likely need a power converter. Since the power input on the mixer itself is 12 Volts DC you could probably just by a new Euro wall adapter. |
Question: | The audio can cut when i open mic |
Answer: | Not as shipped. This runs off a wall transformer that supplies 12 volts to it via 3.5mm barrel jack. If you can source your own 220 to 12v source then you would be able to use that. |
Question: | can I play with 4 speakers qsc cp12inch and subwoofer |
Answer: | Hard to say for sure because I don't know what kind of microphone you have. It's likely to be a condenser mic, in which case you need phantom power, which the board has. Condenser mics usually don't have their own power source, which is what phantom power provides. However it's possible that whatever speaker you are going to plug this into will have phantom power- in which case you wouldn't need the board for that feature (turn the boards phantom power off). You also need to double check your connections to make sure you can physically go from mic to board from board to speaker(s). |
Question: | would 4 xlr mics all be blended out to my external speakers? does the mixer blend it togther then the sound |
Answer: | This is an incredible audio tool , bought as a gift for a dj friend & he totally loves it It’s compact , does so much Recommend!!! |

Steinberg UR Interfaces
With Steinberg’s line of USB 2.0 connectivity interfaces, you’ve got it all covered: the UR range comprises a 19” rack-mounted studio solution, a desktop production interface, an ultra-compact mobile unit and an advanced portable production studio — all engineered and crafted to meet the most exacting standards.
Sharing the same heritage as the highly acclaimed MR816 interfaces, the URs house outstanding converters and D-PRE Class-A discrete mic preamps. Each interface is completely adapted to your needs while sharing the hallmarks of the UR range: great build quality, stunning sound and flexible, fully integrated capabilities. Ultra-stable drivers for Mac OS X and Windows mean that the entire UR range supports all major recording software applications.
Guitar Amp Classics
Guitar Amp Classics make extensive use of advanced Yamaha modeling technology. Four amp types with completely different sonic characteristics are provided, CLEAN, CRUNCH, DRIVE and LEAD.
Sweet Spot Morphing Channel Strip
The Sweet Spot Morphing Channel Strip consists of a sidechain-enabled compressor and a three-band parametric equalizer. Both EQ and compressor were developed to attain a highly musical sound.
REV-X reverb
The REV-X built into the UR824, UR28M, UR44 and UR242 is a complex reverb algorithm developed by Yamaha. REV-X features three types of reverb effects: Hall, Room and Plate simulations with reverb time and level control.
D-PRE microphone preamps
The preamp is where sound creation begins in recording, and ultimately determines the quality of your mix. All UR audio interfaces offer D-PRE Class-A discrete mic preamps from Yamaha. The D-PRE is carefully designed to capture all the subtleties and expressiveness of any audio source and is the culmination of years of development by the experienced engineers at the Yamaha Corporation. D-PRE Mic Preamps sound stunning, and the difference is in the design.
D-PRE has a very wide frequency range so that it can handle any music source and it does not overly amplify any specific components of the signal. It’s beautifully tuned to be able to capture the true expression of a given performance or audio source, while leaving flexibility for later editing.
