Answer:	The total weight of 5 surround rm58's is 15.4 pounds. I believe these stands will work fine. There are several ways to attach speakers to these stands. I had lots of hardware leftover.

Answer:	The base is about 10 inches in diameter and metal along with the the mounting shaft is also metal. I've got smaller Bose speakers they work fine. The 601 might fit and the weight might not be a factor but not sure

Answer:	No prblem replacing them. I am going to do the same thing. You will need the stability if your speakers are more than a couple of lbs a piece.

Answer:	It is a pair (2), they are great. I love mine.

Answer:	You don't need to drill holes into your speakers as the speaker stands have adjustable clamps to lock the speakers in place. They also come with rubber pads that attach to the stand's speaker clamps. For extra security, you could replace the rubber pads with velcro strips.

Answer:	Set it on there, yes. Screw it down, no. The 2nd Gen doesn't have a screw hole on the bottom. I think the 2nd gen Plus is compatible and has a screw hole though. You could probably put some double sided tape on the 2nd gen and stick it on there. Or use some type of glue to get the echo to stick to the stand. The stand has a circular little base that the echo sits on. If you really need to make it work, there's likely a way to do it with adhesive of some sort.
