Answer:	Either the advertising is wrong, or every answer to this question is. The weighting variants for keyboards is: synth action, semi-weighted, fully weighted, hammer action. Synth action is a spring and feels like a toy. Semi-weighted are springs but with weights to keep them from springing back up too quickly, but they also feel very unnatural. Fully weighted has a more natural feel, but each of the 88-keys has the same resistance and rebound. Hammer action has actual hammers and weights built into the keys, giving them the most natural feel, and if they are "graded" hammer action keyboards, the lower octaves are heavier than the higher octaves.

Answer:	Yes, it absolutely does work. I think the most important takeaway is that this is a reasonable enough price to figure out if you actually do want to learn and stick with it. The biggest value is the 30-day membership to the Simply Piano app. I was in the same boat as you and this keyboard + app had me reading music and playing with both hands in 2 days. I played the guitar over 20 years ago, but completely forgot how to read sheet music since then. I’m back to being able to read sheet music and looking to step up to a higher quality Yamaha keyboard. Answer:	The P45 weighs 11.5 pounds more than the P71. Since the reviews suggest that the keys are weighted the same and the sounds are the same, perhaps the difference is in the internal framing and chassis. So the P71 is easier to carry but is probably more fragile.

Answer:	None, but it has a USB port which will serve the same purpose when connecting to a computer

Answer:	I’ve been using beyerdynamic dt880 pro with this - 250 ohm - it was a good pairing so much so I rather listen through my headphones rather than the speakers. I also paired this with the audio technica ws1100 and found a bit of hissing I think it’s because of the lower ohm rating. The beyerdynamic is what I use the most.
