This stand is really versatile, and when I play gigs with a big band (I play lead alto), the sax section has to squeeze together, and we have those fold-up stands in front of us, the ones with the band logo. I'm able to keep part of the stand folded up underneath the music stand, leaving only the alto, clarinet, flute and soprano part next to me. In other words, it takes up less space than if I have the whole stand assembled like in the picture. Bottom line is that I've been playing professionally for over 30 years and have had many stands; this is absolutely the best one I've ever owned. All the sax players I know are now buying Hercules stands. I don't get anything from recommending this stand other than the satisfaction of knowing another horn player will enjoy it as much as I do. |
