Adjustment Fine Tuners

• The function of the fine adjustment knob is to help the violinist to make parts for tuning.
• Firstly, loosen the fine adjustment knob, and then adjust the violin neck knob to about 10 cents lower than the standard tone. How to Keep Strings in Tune

Answer:	It’s partly assembled. The strings are in place but the bridge is not. You would have to place the bridge in the right position and tighten the strings. It comes with an instruction sheet that helps with this process.

Answer:	late reply but maybe it might help someone else, when i was 11 or so i was given a 3/4 violin. it was a good size for me, and big enough to grow into. even at 24 i can still play the 3/4 when my 4/4 was being repaired though yes it is a bit small for me now, but i didn't want to fall out of practice. i dont really know how much smaller the 1/2 is in my hands i think that would be good for an 8 year old but you would need to upgrade to a 3/4 or 4/4 by the time they are 13-15, if they grow fast during puberty i would just pay for a 4/4 and have them grow into it.

How to choose violin sizes

Violins are available in 8 different sizes: 4/4 (also called full size), 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16 and 1/32. Size 4/4 is the biggest and size 1/32 is the smallest. All adults, regardless of their size, use the size 4/4 violin.

To measure what size violin best suits you, you need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm (when your hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to your body, just like holding a violin). Most of the teachers prefer students to use the length from the neck to the wrist for measurement instead of the neck to mid-palm approach. The violin size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the size that is more comfortable for students to hold. The violin size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use. The following table lists the length of each violin size. Find your length using your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of violin to get.

If you have a teacher, you should ask for your teacher's recommendation. If you don't have a teacher, we would recommend using the neck/wrist approach for students not using full size; for students who are deciding whether to used size 3/4 or size 4/4, use the neck/mid-palm approach. This is because it is always better those students feeling comfortable holding and playing the violin. However, while deciding between size 3/4 and size 4/4, if neck/mid-palm approach allows for size 4/4, then buying a size 4/4 is more economical since you don't have to buy another bigger size violin later. This is completely based on economical consideration. You should still decide what best suits your need.

Question:	how do you store the bow inside the case? i see a flippy plastic thing but Unclear how it would hold a bow during transport
Answer:	Bow tip slides into pocket towards front of case and frog end sits on a rest which rotates to lock in place, similar to many other cases I have seen. Can store up to two bows. This case is a great value and is robust and surprisingly light weight at the same time.

Answer:	The case is made with a Nylon Oxford raincoat fabric cover. It feels like canvas. This is not a hard, plastic shell case, which is why it is lightweight. Our case has not been tested in the rain. I would still protect it with an umbrella.

Answer:	It doesn't have a separate rain cover. It just is rain proof itself. It's covered in heavy canvas that sheds water.

Answer:	Just went and tried it. Fits fine. The pocket is 17.5" long, 8.5" wide and is slightly wedge shaped so the depth flares out to about 2 inches on the side where the handles are. Plenty of room for a stand.

Question:	Will this case fit sheet music
Answer:	It does not have a dedicated pocket for sheet music. Mainly git it becuase i do a lot of traveling and it's a solid case as far as protection goes. But unfortunately does not accommodate sheet music
Question:	will it fit a 14 inch viola
Answer:	Generally speaking, it should not be fitted to viola since it is a violin case.I will suggest you to check the dimensions from "product details" page.The inside dimensions as following:Overall length for instrument: 600mm (23.6");Body length: 370mm (14.6");Upper bout: 180mm (7.1");Lower bout: 215mm (8.5").
Question:	will this case fit my 15.5 viola

Combination lock

Set your own combination to make the case personal. Instruction see as below.

Neck strap and large accessory compartment

Violin can be fastened by the neck strap. There is no worry of accident impact to the case when it is open. The accessory compartment with lid is large enough for a shoulder rest, a rosin and others.

Instructions of the Combination Lock

1. The lock is preset to 0-0-0.

2. Push the set button (mark is No.1) in the direction of the arrow.

3. While in this position, set each number to your new combination and remember it.

4. Release the button and your number is now set.

5. The lock will now release only when the dials are set to the combination you've set.

6. If you want to reset your password, please turn the number to your combination and repeat step 2 to step 5.

Warning: please keep your new combination in mind, or the case wouldn't be open.
