Question:	Does the bow balance well on the strings
Answer:	All I can say with absolute certainty is that it is a very hard, dense brown wood. Owned mine for over a year at least, frequently being irresponsible and not loosening the bow hair when not playing. Still is a great bow, but full disclosure-I bought mine to use with an instrument I made myself, and so this has only been used on cello strings, tuned a bit lower than the note they were made to be. I've always played string instruments that work by strumming and picking the strings, and I bought this higher-end-than-I-really-need bow because then, as I'm troubleshooting and adjusting the instrument to hone the sound, I can eliminate the bow as being flawed or poorly made.

Question:	How heavy is the bow
Answer:	You CAN, remove it, but the wire winding is not securely bound onto the bow shaft. When I have removed it, I've found that the windings are loose, and not at all secure. I have since re-covered the windings with another tape to prevent them from moving ,and eventually breaking from the pressure of my index finger.

Question:	I am concerned with tone (warm/dark OR clear/bright), what type of strings and rosin you are using with it. Is your violin acoustic or electric
Answer:	I bought it for my son (learned violin for 7 years) as a backup bow. It is of very good quality in terms of the amount of hair, straightness and shape and balance of the stick. The stick is on the thick (heavy) side. I think the overall quality and sound are comparable to the ones in $800-$900 range he tried and bought as his main bow from a local violin store. As for the tone, it seems really depend on the combination of violin, bow and the strings that you won't know without trying. Even with the same brand and price, each bow feels differently. (my son's violin is acoustic, pirazzi string, warm to bright, ).
