User questions & answers

Question: Does this work for a Yamaha P Series P105B piano. And can you tell how much it weighs when boxed. Thanks
Answer: No. I don't understand the other answer about the width being perfect. I have the P115B, essentially the same size as the P105B, but the stand will NOT adjust small enough in the width. So, the piano sits on top and, even worse, it is too wide for the piano to sit on both rubber bumpers at the same time, so part of the piano is sitting on bare metal. Finally - because I have it set to the narrowest width, my knees hit the stand. I'm sending this back. Not the stand's fault, just too big.
Question: does it work with an on stage two tier addition (ksa
Answer: Sorry, I'm not familiar with the a stage two tier addition for this stand. My use has been only as a stand for a single Yamaha YPG 235 at home. For this application it works great because it is sturdy and stable and has no problem handling fairly heavy and wide keyboards. In case you're planning to use it in a sitting mode, I would caution you to be aware that it is tough to find a comfortable place to put your knees.
Question: The minimum height is too high for me. Can the bottom and top horizontal bars along the narrower X segment be swapped? Anyone tried that successfully
Answer: I haven't tried that---hopefully someone will and share their results. In the meantime, it's worth noting that purchasing an adjustable bench can help you achieve a comfortable keyboard height relative to your seat height. At least this is how I managw, because the minimum height of this keyboard-stand is far too high for any other chair in my room.
Question: Does this stand work for a yamaha psr
Answer: This stand is extremely stable and well built. It will work for practically any full size keyboard.

User questions & answers

Question: How many sounds can you layer at a time
Answer: You can layer 8 sounds, but that gets a bit muddy.... I've had success layering 3 guitar sounds to make it fuller, 2 organ sounds, trumpet with a sax for lead... 4 brass instruments for a quartet type sound... a deep drum and a bass guitar is nice.... using the XF you had to erase a riff to layer instruments... with the MODX you can make up a name and save it to the memory... guitars have been improved compared to the XF, also organs.... strings, drum kits, harmonicas, pianos, horns are pretty much the same as the XF, the big development of the MODX is the arpeggio's with layered instruments and sound effects... a lot of movie soundtracks such as Stranger Things are done with the MODX... it is awesome in this category of interesting sounds and arpeggios... limitless really...
Question: Will this work with an acoustic guitar amp? marshall ds55. mine isn’t. at all. no output. or is it defect out of the box
Answer: This should work with any quarter inch out from the keyboard into the amp. Try the headphone jack.
Question: What amplified speakers does someome recommend for the nodx
Answer: Home use, you can run mono Left line to any keyboard amp/combo(Roland KC550) or even guitar combo(Fender Twin) depending on setting and desired sound. For a smaller sound & footprint, a Roland cube combo will suffice. Anything smaller simply use the headphones output. For professional live application simply run 1/4” TS from Main out Left & Right to a radial stereo di(or two single direct boxes)that is sent to house monitors.
Question: What are some competing synth/keyboards similar to (or slightly better than) this, that are produced by Korg and Roland
Answer: First of all the other answers are misleading. The Korg Krome does not have defects and problems, this is a flat out lie. You can check many consumer sights as well as tech site reviews to verify the statement is inaccurate. Further, when you have problematic defective products/issues, it must be listed in the report to investors and again, no such statement exists. Secondly comparing the Modx and Korg Pa4X to this is not a good comparison. The Pa4x is a top of the line arranger keyboard, the MoDX7 is a mid line synth. They are very different and serve different needs of players. Lastly, if you want to compare the Pa4x to its true competitor that would be the Yamaha Genos and Yamaha Tyros 5. To your question, the closest competitor is the Korg Krome. It has a newly released version that has plenty of you tube videos comparing the two. I suggest you watch those, figure out what your needs are and make your choice based upon the research you do. Roland doesn't have anything really close here in this category, some would say the Juno Gi others may say the FA series, both arguments have merit and detractors. Perhaps another consideration would be a previous generation keyboard. The Korg M3 as an example is a full workstation prior to the Kronos. I bring it up because you can a find one fully loaded with the expanded memory and radias expansion for the same price, maybe even cheaper than the Yamaha MoDx. You also want to consider the Yamaha Motif XS, the workstation prior to the Montage which is what the MOdx is based upon. The Motif XS will likely be priced higher though. Just some food for thought.

Answer: Yes, the P71 can be transposed. The P71 can be transposed similar to how a P45 is transposed - simply hold the "Grand Piano | Function" key and press the F7, F#7, or G7 keys to adjust the pitch. F7 will move all keys down a half-step, G7 will moves all keys up a half-step, and F#7 resets it to normal.

User questions & answers

Question: which power cord do i get for the prse263 keyboard
Answer: Comes with power supply
Question: Does this keyboard have transpose function
Answer: Yes, to a remarkable extent. You can transpose a voice up to 12 semitones up or down, shift the keyboard lower or higher by up to 2 octaves, or retune the keyboard in fine increments (Hz) to match another instrument.
Question: Can this keyboard play sad song
Answer: No, You have to play it yourself. The keyboard won't do it for you.
Question: Could someone please advise? i have no clue about keyboards and want to introduce him to it.he is 15 and i dont wanna spend tons but want quality soun
Answer: I'd rank this the best beginner keyboard in its price range. The sound from the built-in speakers is fine. It sounds better through headphones (they'll need a 1/4" plug or adapter) or an amplified speaker. You'll need Yamaha's PA-130 AC adapter plus 6 AAs for portable use. I strongly recommend getting a sustain pedal--any brand with a 1/4" phone plug will do. Note that none of the higher-end features described in some comments--touch-sensitive or weighted keys, USB or MIDI, recording and playback--are present in the PSR-E263. It does have some neat extras like lesson mode and background rhythms. Any kid will have a riot with this keyboard.
