User questions & answers

Question: Do you have guitars with wire strings for beginners
Answer: Hello there are no beginner strings but less expensive for bbeginners. You might want some Ernie Ball strings P02223. Hope this helps
Question: Would these strings be suitable for playing punk rock and sometimes heavy metal
Answer: these strings are great for blues, blues rock, classic rock, funk, and even jazz. However for punk rock and heavy metal I would recommend DR black Beauty's as they have a better low end response and are geared towards heavier music, The added fact that they're coated and last longer is just a bonus.

User questions & answers

Question: Will the high e string bust if I bend a lot ? How long would it last
Answer: I have played DR strings for a long time. I have never had an issue with these or any other DR sets. I bend a lot and also use a Floyd rose to ring out dives. I haven't broken a string in a very long time. The Dimebag signature set is pretty awesome for many styles of playing. They are really nice and bright and shine through the mix nicely.
Question: Should these be 10-56? Whats the diffetence between these and the titefits
Answer: No. There are multiple gauges of Hi-Voltage strings but I do not believe that 10 to 56 is one of them. According to DRstrings website they make dbg-9 (9/42), dbg-9/46, dbg-9/52, dbg-10 (10/46), dbg-10/52, dbg-11 (11/50). I have never used titefits so I could not say what the difference is. But I can recommend these if you use the whammy bar a lot or do a lot of bends because they take an insane amount of abuse and keep sounding amazing.

User questions & answers

Question: Can these be used on acoustic guitar
Answer: No. Acoustic guitars need strings that produce volume. Electric guitars need strings that affect an electrical field. The two are not interchangeable.
Question: I had these on for one day and the winding on the D string came loose? I didn’t stretch the strings because I heard that you’re not supposed to
Answer: Stretching strings can be useful, but it depends on how you secure them to the tuning post. With modern locking tuners it isn't needed much, but with older tuners where you route the string back and loop it under the string to prevent slippage, the string will slowly slip until it is fully seated on the tuning post, so stretching can be useful in this instance, especially if you are about to perform, and don't have a roadie tuning you guitars backstage. BTW, I use DR Strings exclusively, and have never had one unravel in one day, so that is not normal for these strings. I love these Pure Blues for Strats, they tone down the bite. Wishing you luck...
Question: Do these dr pure blues strings have a wound g-string (the 3rd string
Answer: I don't think so. Their perfect for almost anything. Great strings for playing the blues and even the 10 gauge strings don't hurt your fingers once you start playing on them.

User questions & answers

Question: What advantages / disadvantages are there because of the roundcore string? How would it compare as far as tension, bass and low mids. Which is slicker
Answer: Tension: DR Round Cores have a very loose feel that is very comfortable over a long playing session. Bass & Low Mids didn't suffer at all with a stronger fundamental tone than other Round Wound strings I've used.
Question: Do these have cloth wrappings? If so, what color
Answer: Pure Blues bass strings do not have cloth wrappings.
Question: I was looking for flatwound, and these came up. Are they flat wound
Answer: DR’s flat wound’s are called Legend. Pure blues are great strings but they are round wound. DR is a great company. You can’t go wrong with any of their strings.
Question: Is this pack for a 5 string bass
Answer: No, it's a 4 string pack. You can tell by counting the gauge numbers on the top of the packaging. After the the model number (PB-45...Pure Blues starting with a G string gauge of .45) there are 4 numbers in sequence 45, 65, 85, 105 which are the gauges of the individual strings G, D, A, E.

Best of Steel with Nickel Feel

The modern American bass player uses elements from many styles of music to personalize their sound, so their strings need to be up to the task and respond to whatever the music demands. DR Pure Blues bass strings combine the warm tone of pure nickel with the brightness and edge of stainless steel for a rich and tonally balanced string that is perfect for players who demand versatility. Whether you play fingerstyle, with a pick, or slap, your bass will come alive with a full bottom, colorful mids, and bright articulate highs.

DR's proprietary alloy Quantum Nickel combines the smooth feel of nickel with the punch and brightness of stainless steel.

Round cores ensure 100% contact with the wrap wire, giving Pure Blues strings “more sustain and flexibility", according to iconic bassist Victor Wooten.

Hand winding the Pure Blues strings allows DR to closely monitor quality, make micro adjustments throughout the winding process, and add a human element that can’t be duplicated by a machine.

User questions & answers

Question: Do the strings glow in the dark
Answer: No, they only glow under black light
Question: i got a 30" scale bass to play "rocksmith". do these fit a 30 scale bass
Answer: I have these on a 45" bass. Should work. Be advised that these are heavy strings and are not very vibrant in sound quality. The colored coating seems to make them dull. Colors are great though if you are learning to play!!
Question: Are these nylon? Maybe I'm missing it but I can't seem to find what these strings are
Answer: Hi, they are not nylon but a colored wrap steel string.
Question: Do these match the color scheme of Rocksmith
Answer: I am pretty sure they do but I would like to warn you that the strings, although really cool looking, are terrible for any resonance or vitality. They are stiff as iron and require a fair amount of finger pad pressure to get a clear note. Even then the sound is muddy and not acceptable. I finally ripped mine off and threw them in the trash where they belong. Will never use again. End of story.

User questions & answers

Question: Do these fit snug in the tremelo slot like Fender bullets? tuning issues or not
Answer: They will not fit exactly like fender bullets: that said, I’ve only used bullets a few times and have been playing since 1972 and regular ball and strings work perfectly fine. Tuning is more an issue of nuts slides being lubricated; I use a pencil lead and have for years on all of my fender in Gibson guitars and it works perfectly fine, no special sauce or lubricant needed, LOL. I love the strings and these or D’Addario XL‘s are my go to‘s. These are actually cheaper than the D’Addario so I have been using them for the last few years and they are excellent.
Question: How would these be for open G slide
Answer: They would be fine. Its a good gauge for electric slide in G.
Question: Is it a big jump going from 010-046 strings to these 011s. Are bends on the G B and high E a lot harder with these 011s
Answer: I play 11's on my strat, and 10's on a gretsch, and it is not a big jump. But I bend "bluesy", and a full step on a single string as a max. If you're looking to do multi-string massive bends I would stick with the 10s.
Question: Is the G string wound
Answer: No... It is a plain steel G-string in this set...

Answer: I am in b drop a. I have a locking tremolo and I use it alot!!!! These strings are incredible!!!! Exellent sounding highs and in your face lows!!!! I don't use anything else. My rythem guitarist (also with a floyd rose) uses 13 gauge ddts!!!
Question: Do these have a decent brightness to them
Answer: They are not overtly bright, but they do not sound like just BOOM BOOm either. These are my favorite strings for Drop tuning as they just work and sound amazing. User questions & answers

Question: What is the difference between the regular black beauties and the "limited edition" strings
Answer: They are $1.47 less, and you get to pay $26.99 for shipping. The strings are the same.
Question: Long Scale
Answer: I put them on my standard length 5-string and clipped off about 4-6" after fully wound. hope that helps
Question: do these strings help with frett clicking noise? Even with a light touch some of my strings click when they contact a frett. Thanks
Answer: That's almost more of a setup question than a string question. I *think* the coating might moderate any contact noise with the frets. I play rather lightly; my setup is moderately low, and the pickups are not right up to the strings - maybe 3/16"-4/16". I can hammer on notes without noticing any click. That's with my instrument and technique, though. Your results may vary.
Question: I did a search for short scale black beauties and the bkb5-45 string came up. i don't see anything that says short scale though. thoughts
Answer: These are not short scale bass strings. These have a scale length of 37 3/4". I do not believe DR makes Black Beauties in Short Scale.
