Stagg M20-S Bluegrass Mandolin with Solid Spruce Top - Violin Burst
- Basswood Back and Sides
- Nato Neck
- Rosewood Fingerboard
- Violin Burst
User questions & answers
Question: | when you mean left handed does that mean strummed with the left hand or corded using the left hand |
Answer: | A left handed mandolin is strummed with the left hand and chords are played with the right hand. The neck faces right on all left handed instruments. With right handed instruments, all necks go to the left and are strummed with the right hand. |
Question: | does this come with a case and picks |
Answer: | Mine came with a soft padded case and a few picks. |
Question: | Does it have a truss rod |
Answer: | Hello, I wish i could answer that but I don't see evidence of a truss rod, or access to modify it. I am a beginner and not the best person to ask, not knowing a lot about stringed instrument construction. Try the manufacturer? |
Question: | What kind of strings does this come with |
Answer: | This mandolin has eight steel strings specifically designed for that instrument. |

Set a Bridge
- The side of the bridge facing the violin strings should be at an angle of approximately 90 degrees. The other side of the bridge should be slightly tilted forward.
- When setting a violin bridge, please first loosen the violin string. After placing the bridge in place, the string is inserted into the limit of the bridge, and the tuning can be used normally.
Fine Adjustment Knob
- The function of the fine adjustment knob is to help the violinist to make parts for tuning. The tuning of the violin is difficult.
- Unscrew the mounting screws for fine adjustment
- After unscrewing the screws, insert the E string hole at the bottom of the string board
- Screw on the screws to fix the fine adjustment
- Insert the adjusting screw of the trimmer
- Mount the strings to the fine tuning
Adjust Chin Rest
- The bottom of the chin rest should be completely consistent with the piano panel.
- Note that the smaller the contact point with the body, the better, so the double bracket screw is more popular than the single bracket screw, because the smaller the contact point, the less the vibration that hinders the body.
- After installation, the angle of the chin rest should be straight, especially not upward.
- Be sure to tighten the screws, otherwise the body will make noise.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this violin play with earphone? Does it include the fine adjustment on the strings |
Answer: | I have a small kong for a small dog. I inserted the milk bone into the kong and it did not fall out. It only took my dog, a Shitzu-French Poodle mix, about 3 minutes to get the treat out. |
Question: | Is this violin can play without electric too? can it play a regular violin |
Answer: | Distributed by does not mean 'Made in the USA.' They are distributed by Del Monte, but nowhere on the box does it say where the treats are currently baked, where the origins of the ingredients come from, etc. When in doubt, they're likely Made in China. Taken from the back of the box, "We made our first biscuit over a century ago in a little bakery on the Lower East Side of New York City. We still use the same high quality and wholesome ingredients to make the original bone-shaped dog treat." This wording is deceiving if you only read this statement once. Sure they WERE made in NYC more than 100 years ago, but do you think they are doing that now? I found no website (except for the unreliable Wikipedia) stating that Milkbones are made in the US. Can someone prove otherwise? |
Question: | How would you plug this in for headphones? I don't want to disturb my housemates |
Answer: | Yes these expire but i takes more than a year the ones i got, Well they are all ready gone my dog love them |
Question: | Does this violin kill demons |
Answer: | These are made for dogs. I don't think a human would want to eat them or like them. |

It provides violinists of all levels with the ability to practice confidently without disturbing others.
How to choose violin sizes
Violins are available in 8 different sizes: 4/4 (also called full size), 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16 and 1/32. Size 4/4 is the biggest and size 1/32 is the smallest. All adults, regardless of their size, use the size 4/4 violin.
To measure what size violin best suits you, you need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm (when your hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to your body, just like holding a violin). Most of the teachers prefer students to use the length from the neck to the wrist for measurement instead of the neck to mid-palm approach. The violin size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the size that is more comfortable for students to hold. The violin size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use. The following table lists the length of each violin size. Find your length using your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of violin to get.
If you have a teacher, you should ask for your teacher's recommendation. If you don't have a teacher, we would recommend using the neck/wrist approach for students not using full size; for students who are deciding whether to used size 3/4 or size 4/4, use the neck/mid-palm approach. This is because it is always better those students feeling comfortable holding and playing the violin. However, while deciding between size 3/4 and size 4/4, if neck/mid-palm approach allows for size 4/4, then buying a size 4/4 is more economical since you don't have to buy another bigger size violin later. This is completely based on economical consideration. You should still decide what best suits your need.

User questions & answers
Question: | I'm looking for a violin stand for a 14" long child's violin so very, very small. I'd like to display it on a shelf. Would this stand work for that |
Answer: | While Im not familiar with the size os a child's violin i can tell you that this stand is approx 10" tall. The base would elevate the instrument by almost 2" so your shelf height would have to factor this in. I ise it for my ikuleles as a floor or table stand. If your shelf is longer than it is high, you might position the instrument sideways. Worth a try if your shelf height is 18" or higher |
Question: | How dos it work |
Answer: | you just put your musical instrument (ukelele for example) on it and it holds it. |
Question: | Will it work with an instrument cable attached? These usually run out of the bottom |
Answer: | The photo of the stand is very accurate. I would think that if your cable bends easily as it exits the bottom of the instrument, it would fit fine with the cable attached. It appears you would have about 2 inches of clearance space for the cable to be able to bend 90 degrees, and not more. Obviously, the stand would not work for a cable exiting the back of an instrument, but it should definitely fit if the cable exits the instrument from either side. It's a nice, heavy stand, hope it works for you -- good luck! |
Question: | Would this work for an F-style mandolin |
Answer: | I have an F-style mandolin and it works fine with it. If you are wondering about the bottom horn don't worry, it doesn't come close to the floor, it cradles my instrument with no issues. There is a pad that the instrument rests on on the upper arm piece just fine. I kept an eye on it when I started using it a few weeks ago and the upper body of the mandolin sits on it quite adequately. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I'm looking for a violin stand for a 14" long child's violin so very, very small. I'd like to display it on a shelf. Would this stand work for that |
Answer: | The span of the base arms is about 4 1/2 inches so I would guess that the instrument would be supported without falling through. The bow hanger is just long enough for a full size bow so you should be okay there. But the feet are 10 inches in length so it would depend on the depth of your shelf if the stand would fit for display. Hope that helps. |
Question: | Does this stand fit 1/16 violin with the neck? Thanks |
Answer: | Not sure but my sonâs violin is 1/2 and fits perfectly. Still has room for a full size violin. |
Question: | Will a viola fit in tjis stand |
Answer: | Maybe. It barely stretches long enough for my bow tip not to hit the ground. Very sturdy stand however. If the viola is not much larger than the violin and the bow is the same length, it might. It has two laces of adjustment which makes me think the viola may fit, but the box is just missing the ground with a good bit of struggle for a standard violin size bow. It is a great price for a very stable stand. |
Question: | Does this stand allow room for a shoulder rest to be left on the violin |
Answer: | I use a Kun shoulder rest (fairly standard), and the stand has plenty of room for that. I still prefer my Ingles stand for overall sturdiness over the Stagg (also plenty of room). |
