  2. Pedal Tuners: Pedal tuners are floor-based units that can be incorporated into a pedalboard setup. They allow for easy tuning adjustments during performances.

  3. Handheld Tuners: Handheld electronic devices that can be used to tune bass guitars. They often have built-in microphones to detect sound.

  4. Tuning Forks: A traditional tuning tool where a vibrating tuning fork creates a reference pitch for tuning the bass guitar by ear.

  5. Digital Tuners: These tuners have digital displays that indicate whether a string is tuned to the correct pitch.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this work for Viola
Answer: Yes this is a chromatic tuner.
Question: My dad plays in a spanish guitar tuning, does this have a chromatic mode that covers all of the different note registers without a setting change
Answer: Models 2 and 8 work across all instruments; model 2 also has a mic option. Since you're not playing guitar, recommend avoid the other models. Get a version 2 versus an 8 if you want to clip to a stand. Theoretically the new ST versions are faster than the SN versions, but I haven't tried an ST version yet. That said, I've found than the older SNs are too slow to follow intonation while playing anything faster than whole notes. (In my experience, SN are perfect for tuning, not so much for playing; maybe the STs can handle it.) Since a trumpet bell is thin, you can probably use an ST. However, if someone needs to clip onto something thicker like a recorder (I've clipped them around the narrowest section of the foot joint on plastic soprano and smaller instruments), may want to use an older SN.
Question: This is a gift for my daughter. Will this work for ukuleles, acoustic guitars, bass and electric guitars? Will it work for anything else
Answer: This is from the Snark instructions that come in the packaging: "To set the Snark to another tuning reference, push the round "PITCH CAL" button on the back side of the tuner and immediately press either the up or down triangular buttons to choose a new tuning reference. The pitch reference can be set anywhere from 415-466Hz." This would allow you to choose A-432.
Question: Can I use this tuner to tune a kalimba
Answer: If you're looking for a folding music stand this all metal one is pretty sturdy compared to plastic one's. I use it with an over-filled 3" folder of music and it handles it fine. I would recommend trying it and if it doesn't work out send it back. It's easy to break down and put in it's bag. The only negative thing I can say about this is the led light. It doesn't have a built-in rechargeable battery but it will work with a USB adapter even w/o batteries in it. This would not prevent me from buying it.

User questions & answers

Question: How accurate is this for vocal tuning
Answer: Mine slowed WAAAY down after a while. Worked initially...I just bought a SurfBoard after this and have had no problem. Comcast says this model is not 100% compatible.
Question: Does this have polyrhythms
Answer: Not sure I checked the manual and all it said was a 10/100/1000 cord. But I can tell you this I have at least 4 computers, 4 TV's with a ROKU, 1 TV with a smart blue ray, 1 TV with another computer attached along with a smart blue ray and a Xbox 360 hooked to it and a Smart TV plus several tablets and phones using the same router (Cisco E4200 dual band) hooked up directly to the modem with just the standard cord that came with it. and a lot of weekends there will be 1/2 or more of that streaming and I have never had a single little glitch on any thing streaming. A normal weekend will consist of my grandson on the den tv online gaming the Xbox. My daughter in the bedroom on Roku, my wife streaming the same movie in the kitchen and living room, my son in law on the internet, and me streaming atv racing on YouTube. And I have never had any drop off. I am very happy with it. Oh and did I say I have a computer in the laundry room that no one but me seems to know how to shutdown the internet when they get done using it LOL.
Question: How do I tune my cello? Do i use the violin part? Or does it has a different letter/number
Answer: No, it does not broadcast wirelessly. For that, you need a modem like this one plus a wireless router.
Question: Does this metronome have ac/dc capability
Answer: It works for internet but not voice.

Peterson StroboClip HD Clip-On Tuner | Guitar, Bass, Violin, Ukulele, Harp, Brass, Woodwind, Orchestral

Peterson

Based on 606 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Peterson stroboclip HD (sc-hd) has the same tenth-of-a-cent accuracy as all Peterson strobe tuners. This versatile tuner comes complete with a bright high-definition screen, over 50 Sweetened tunings, alternate temperaments for a vast array of string and wind instruments, and soft rubber-lined jaws to protect your instrument's finish while offering a firm grip for maximum signal tracking. Updated model with larger clap and raised power button.

  • True strobe 0. 1 Cent accuracy - accurate to 1/1000th of a Semitone or 1/1000th of a fret

User questions & answers

Question: can this be used as a drone? If so, how
Answer: It doesn't produce any audible sound.
Question: willl this work on a pedal steel my stroboflip led screen died and i dont have the money for a new one
Answer: It works well on my steel (2003 Sierra U12) in 90% of circumstances but sometimes has trouble finding the note quickly on stages that have loud subwoofers beneath. But highly recommended anyway!
Question: Can this be used to tune a diatonic harmonica
Answer: Probably would work, but doesn't have a microphone so it must be clipped on to the harmonica, or at least touching it. An iphone app would be more convenient and much cheaper I think. PanoTuner, for example, is really good.
Question: Is there a preset for dobro
Answer: I am not sure exactly what you mean by preset. There are 2 sweetened tunings specifically for dobro, and if you don't want a sweetened tuning you just select the standard (equal temperament) tuning. It just shows you what note you are closest to regardless of how you have your dobro tuned. I used the USB interface to remove all tunings except equal, so I don't have to worry about getting it in a funny mode by fat-fingering the tiny buttons that are all jammed up next to each other (still a sore point with me!).

Product features

  • Pitch Calibration (415-466Hz)

User questions & answers

Question: The last two sn-8s fell apart w/little use. both axis, on the clip and right under the tuner itself. have you done anything to improve the quality
Answer: I don’t really know. The stand is not as sturdy as what I needed and the shelf didn’t hold multiple items. I gave it away and ordered another heavy duty stand
Question: Is this a chromatic tuner. I want to tune all strings down a half step starting with the sixth string to E flat. Will this tuner do that
Answer: I assume you're asking about the included instrument holder. It's possible, but it seems like a viola might be a bit to heavy for it, so I haven't tried using it for anything larger than a soprano ukulele or 3/4 size violin, and it works fine for that. The stand I've been using for years for my viola is made by Ingles, and I recommend using that for heavier or more valuable instruments.
Question: Is this for All instruments? Im a trumpet player, and id like a clip on tuner to clip to my bell or the stand so i can always moniter my tuning
Answer: No. It will not hold a ukulele. I just received mine going to be able to do just that, but no, it will not.
Question: Does this tuner offer A
Answer: When pulled all the way up, it measures about 54 inches to the hinge on the back which connects to the platform. From there your height will be a bit lower as the base of the platform is lower. I would estimate about 52 inches as the maximum height measuring from the floor to the base of the platform.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this tuner safe for use with yamaha student guitars (cgs102a
Answer: The back slides downward. Place your thumbs on the raised arrows on each corner and push downward. This will expose the two AAA batteries. It's a little tight the first time you open it, You can wear rubber gloves if it hurts you thumbs. Don't give up!
Question: What is the difference between the snark sn1 and the snark sn1x
Answer: It should. When using it to tune my piano it didn't pick up the lowest octave, so if you're using a really low tuning you might look for a specific Bass tuner. If you plug into the tuner directly it should pick up any note you use though.
Question: Does the snark sn1x version work with other stringed instruments, such as ukuleles and cellos
Answer: No there was not an input cord included with the tuner.
Question: does this measure by vibration
Answer: It should tune a banjo. I have a tenor guitar which is tuned the same as a banjo, and the KLIQ works great on it.

User questions & answers

Question: How long is the battery life? How many hours/uses
Answer: Hello, Thank you for writing!Around 5-6 hours of use. After that, you can easily charge it with the usb cable that comes with the unit. Brian J. xGuitarx
Question: How to use the calibration? What number should I use in the cent setting (it goes 430-450)? What does 'cent' mean on the display? Short for 'percent
Answer: 440 is considered standard for guitar tuning (at least in the US). Although some songs require an alternate tuning. A 'cent' is 1% (0.01) of a semi tone. One semi tone is equal to one fret on the guitar, ie if you move up one semi tone, you move up one fret. Hope this helps.
Question: does it work well for ukulele
Answer: Hello Yes, it has an specific Ukulele mode "U" that you choose or you can use the Chromatic mode "C". Brian J. xGuitarx
Question: what is the difference with x5 or x
Answer: Not sure the difference. But I know the one I have is a simple device & it's great !. It's numbered so for basic people it tells you e string 1 , b string 2 ,etc .... it has guitar, chromo, bass, f#, &some other settings. I never take it off my guitar. I would say the x7 sounds like it may have additional options maybe ?. I love mine I don't think you can go wrong either way . But that's me.

User questions & answers

Question: How thick of a headstock will this fit on
