User questions & answers
Question: | I bought 4 kappa pro 12 & 4 eminence asd1001b 1" hf horn driver what two way board crossover should i use |
Answer: | Yes they do play deeper than the 18 sounds.18 sound are much louder because they are higher in frequency and sensitivity |
Question: | The little metals clips that are on each terminal, those are supposed to be removed, yes |
Answer: | Hi Willydon, There is so much I could say, but I can't here. I like Yorkville/Traynor amps (having lived in Canada). While I think it would work, I think you could get a more suitable speaker for less that is 4 ohm. Have a look at the Eminence Legend CA154. I think you'll be happier with it both in cost and in performance. The Kappa Pro is really designed more as a PA speaker, The Legend is designed as a bass cab speaker. Good luck! my next choice would be a Celestion Pulse 15, although it is also usually an 8 ohm. 8 Ohm speaker won't hurt your amp, but it just may not be as loud. Personally, I have an old EV 15 in a similar cab for one of my "vintage" rigs that someone gave me. |
Question: | I have some 18 Sound 15's but want to know if these play mid-bass better than the 18 sounds |
Answer: | Yes, for the main and monitor (aux) buses. Not sure if the individual channels have graphic EQ. Suggest you download and read the manual. |
Question: | My Yorkville Bloc 150B is a 4ohm 150w bass combo with a 15" subwoofer. Is this speaker overkill or can the amps handle it |
Answer: | Only if you use an amp first its not a powered mixer, meaning it dose not have a built in amp |

About the Founder
In 1966, Bob Gault founded what was to become one of the world’s largest loudspeaker manufacturing company after working as an engineer for Magnavox and CTS (Chicago Telephone Supply). Ironically, Gault started Eminence hoping to maintain three 18" speakers per day, based on a commitment from Ampeg’s Everett Hull. Under the leadership of Gault and most recently his son, Rob, the company’s capacity grew to over 10,000 speakers per day, employing over 240 people by 1997.
Gault was the president of Eminence from the company’s inception until 1992. He officially retired in 1993, but continued to make valuable contributions to the company. Gault passed away on October 4, 2002. He is greatly missed by his family, the music industry, and the Eminence community.

User questions & answers
Question: | I have a gemini powered speaker that i want to replace the speaker that came with it.my question is, can i substitute 4 ohms rating to 8 ohms speaker |
Answer: | I don't think these guys know how impedance works lol it's called resistance, and it depends on the coil, some manufacturers do build 4ohm versions, but 8 is the most popular because of it's sensitivity and usability. Wire 2 8ohm speakers together and the resistance increases to 4ohms (the lower the number the higher the resistance). 8ohm speakers give you more room to work with as amps have to work harder with higher resistance (lower ohms remember?). Anyways, in the professional world, 8 ohm speakers is pretty much all you're gonna see:) |
Question: | is the price for a pair or 1 single speaker |
Answer: | Per the Eminence website, 95.8 db. |
Question: | Can this speaker go to 4ohms |
Answer: | I never tried the imperio 18, but i can say these kilomax pro's are simply amazing, so smooth and very responsive. Now they do love power but trust me you will not be disappointed. These babies kick ass. |
Question: | What is the sensitivity rating of these |
Answer: | Hi, Here is a link to the box designs.http://www.eminence.com/pdf/Impero_18A_cab.pdfThanksJoe |
Question: | Are these better than the imperio |
Answer: | 1200 watts RMS, 2400 watts peakThanks |
Question: | recommended enclosure for this sub? regards |
Answer: | I purchased Eminence American (8 ohms) 10". I don't know if this will help. I replaced a Fender Mustang 1 _8" guitar amplifier speaker. Anything would have been an improvement. Someone advised a pair speaker for a modeling amp. I can say I once took this 15 watt amp into the forest / wilderness to test it, turned it to 10 & it hurt my ears. My wife knew I planned to do this yet still yelled turn it down. It was that scary! But, I usually only play it on 1& half to 2. It's of course a brighter should than a 12" it's crisp with no speaker distortion at all volumes |
Question: | How much rms is this speaker |
Answer: | What are the specifications for your setup? This is a very rugged and powerful speaker, which should be well adapted to almost any application. |
Question: | replacing speakers in a sealed 2 10 gk cab,will these delta 10 b ,be a nice replacement |
Answer: | I used these to replace 15" woofers in my old Cerwin Vega U-15 speakers. They work great with my Integra 100w receiver. Sound great and they really thump. I would buy these again. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Can this sub work in an IB setup |
Answer: | I do not have the 10" but I have two 12s and 2 15s. Both sizes fit perfectly in the existing mounting holes in the cabs they replaced the speakers in. You can email Emminence and they will answer any questions. Might not be an immediate response. But, they will answer. In my experience within a couple of days. If its any help diameter is 10.09 in. baffle hole dia. 9.18 in. mounting holes b.c.d. 9.66 in. Hope this helps |
Question: | My pioneer hpm1500 blew the bass. is this a good replacement |
Answer: | Eminence pxb-2800 two way board, Or the PRV 2df 1800 |
Question: | what is the diameter of the mounting flange |
Answer: | Method 1: remove clip and crimp wire to it then replace back on speaker. Method 2: remove clip, discard, solder wire straight to post. Method 3: remove clip, crimp wire to clip and place back on post, solder clip - wire - post all together. |

Eminence Professional Series Delta Pro-18C
Long throw subwoofer for very small vented boxes. Over-sized top plate and large pole vent help keep the coil cool.
Each Eminence Professional model can be identified by its cast aluminum Eminence chassis that is lightweight and strong. Aluminum does not conduct the magnetic field out of the gap, thereby making the motor strength higher and the stray magnetic field lower. We coat each chassis and all metal components with an epoxy-acrylic finish using our in-house e-coat process.

User questions & answers
Question: | What you mean by replacement speaker |
Answer: | If you are referring to the cabinet, it can be used in both an open back cab as well as a sealed back cabinet. |
Question: | what amplifier is best for 4 alpha 8a |
Answer: | It is designed to be a PA speaker, but is used for lots of applications-PA, bass amp, keyboard amp, ...and Alpha's are used by hi-end audio speaker designers for very specific applications. It's a great all-around speaker. I personally use them for bass amps. |
Question: | Is this the sealed back speaker |
Answer: | Not with the same power amp. If amp is not matched to the ohm load, either you will be under powered, or, over powered and roast the speakers, in a very enefficient way. Match the speaker ohm load to the amp you have or visa versa. Our self powered sub's got smoked. Switched to passsive, external amp and the matching eminence sub speakers are sounding better then what we had before (jbl518s). Took a little work converting the powered sub's to passive sub's ,but not that much. Bottom line if you are still using the Mackie self powered amps, match the speaker ohm load of the original, and you'll be fine. We love our eminence new sub speakers. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Is this a bass speaker |
Answer: | No, it's per speaker. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have an amplifi 150 it is a 150w amp however current speaker is 80w. would this work |
Answer: | I decided to put a new baffle in my vintage deluxe reverb because I like the sound of two 10 inch speakers. I bought two of these in 16 ohm so that together they would end up being 8 ohm. I’m guessing a third 16 ohm speaker would be your best bet. The key would be and how you actually wire them together. Eminence has some diagrams on their website. It might be worth a phone call to them to get their expert advice before you make your final decision. The speakers sound great by the way. |
Question: | The speaker I want to replace is 40 watt 4 ohm. Willl this work |
Answer: | No. This is a big honking 150 watt guitar amp speaker. |
Question: | If I buy 2 of these what speaker should I get for a 3 speaker cabinet so that the final ohm value is 4-8 ohms? would it need to be 4 0hm or 16 ohm |
Answer: | Dear Irven,Here is the link with manual:http://www.eminence.com/pdf/Alpha_6A.pdfThe amazon put replacement word in title and we can nt change itIt is speaker |
Question: | can the 1518 guitar speaker be used to replace stereo system speakers |
Answer: | depends, what are you using it for? I'm going to guess car audio? midrange or midbass? depending on the enclosure and how low you want them to play you will want around 100-150 watts each RMS true power. if you are putting more bass they will be at their mechanical limit before the thermal limit so 100 watts will be fine, if running more for midrange and you cut them above 100 or so you can use easy 150 watts each. if running in stereo (left/right) which many people seem not to do anymore... get a 4 channel amp that you can bridge to 2channel so it puts out it's max power into 2 4ohm channels for the most efficient use. if using on a mono amp like taramps, corzus, timapno etc, use one that is optimized for a 2ohm load and around 800-1200 watts. if it has a clip indicator just made sure it's only flashing occasionally and very slightly - otherwise referred to as "soft clip" and you can put 250 into each of them but if you clip harder where the clip light is heavily flashing or solid at all you will be seeing the "magic smoke" come out of them very soon |
