Answer:	Jay, probably the easiest way is to use the following two items: 1) a 3.5 mm (1/8") to 3.5 mm stereo cable. 2) a 3.5 mm (1/8") to 1/4" stereo headphone adapter. Plug the 3.5 mm cable into your laptop, then use the adapter to plug into the headphone amp. If this is basically what you are doing and it doesn't work then you have some issue I can't diagnose from afar. Tommy

Answer:	This is not a pre-amp for control of bass, treble, etc. It doesn't change the tonal characteristics. It merely amplifies the "line-level" output of a device, such as a TV, a CD player, or DVD, or other device, to the level it takes to drive a pair of stereo headphones. If you just connected your headphones to the audio output of a CD player without the HA-400, for example, you'd barely be able to hear them. The HA-400 will drive the headphones at any level, from soft to very loud. It has four volume controls for four headphone listeners. You don't have to use all four outputs, but it can drive multiple headphones simultaneously if you want. I use it so that I can listen to a TV through headphones. My TV only has a "line-level" output level, not adequate to properly drive headphones. "Line-Level" refers to the audio output level from an audio source (such as a DVD, CD, VCR, Satellite Receiver, Cable Box, etc.) that needs to connect to an amplifier or other device, such as a TV. It's normally around 1-Volt peak to peak, which isn't enough to drive a pair of headphones adequately. The headphone amp will boost it enough to drive the headphones.

Answer:	To clarify further, it does NOT come with a cord as stated. What you would want to buy is a 1/4" 'TRS' cord to connect from the Fast Track's headphone jack to the input of this headphone amp. These are available on Amazon as well. If you use a regular 1/4" instrument cable, you lose stereo. TRS sends both right and left signals.

When you ask about (4) 8-ohm speaker in parallel, I presume you would hook up two in parallel on one channel (LEFT channel), and hook up other two in parallel on second channel (RIGHT channel). This will result in a load of only 4-ohms on each channel, which is amp can handle, but BE CAREFUL. When you reduce the channel load to only 4-ohm, there is greater risk of overdriving the amp. You should NEVER connect all four 8-ohm speaks in parallel in mono-bridged output mode (all output power driving a single channel). So doing would result in a load of only 2-ohm.

Answer:	It includes an amp for each channel. I don't know the ohms it can handle but I have plugged in light-weight "walkman" style headphones, good quality audiio headphones and earbuds and all are driven just fine, with plenty of volume. FYI I use this with an optical-digital-to-RCA converter to convert my HDTV's optical audio out to a power sufficient to drive a pair of headphones through roughly 20 feet of thin "headphone extension cord" cable. In this setup, I use one channel of the Behringer with the pot at about 30% and use separate headphone volume controls to cut this down to comfort level.
