User questions & answers
Question: | What kind of music can play on this head amp |
Answer: | The Spider V is capable of tones for all styles of music. Jazz, Rock, Blues, Metal, Country, Pop, etc... Really anything you can imagine. |
Question: | Can I run a 16omh 2x12 cab into this without issues |
Answer: | Technically yes. You will just not get as much power . it is safe. You will not harm the amp or speakers if the speakers have a higher impedance than the Amplifier is rated for. On the other hand, if the two speakers are 16 ohm speakers and they are wired in parallel, then they will be an 8 ohm load on the amp and you will get full power. Finally, if each speaker is wired independently you can send a signal to each one seperately because the amplifier has both right and left output channels. |
Question: | Can someone tell me when hooked up to a cabinet that it's loud enough to rival other great guitar amp heads such as Mesa Boogie or Randall |
Answer: | The Spider V head definitely rivals any other amp as respects loudness. |
Question: | Can i use this with 2 10in 16 ohms each speaker cabs |
Answer: | You could, but the cabs may be quieter then expected. So its best to match up with the Ohm rating on the back. This amp accepts 4 Ohms Mono, 8 Ohms in Stereo with two cabs. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can I use this with the line-out option on a yamaha thr |
Answer: | Yes, it will accept the signal from the Line-out. |
Question: | Can this be used with the FH 1500 amp for a stereo set up |
Answer: | Yes, if you want you can use dual XLR outs or 1/4" outs on something like the Helix, which would give you a stereo setup. |
Question: | Will this work well with a low wattage solid state or low wattage tube amp |
Answer: | No, with any tube amp you would need something that takes the load from the amp and brings it down to LINE level. If you connect the to amp to a speaker like this, it can damage your gear. The PowerCab is best used with amp modelers such as the Helix, Helix LT, or HX Stomp. Something that already provides LINE level. |

Answer: | No, the L6 Link cable is sold separately. You can also connect to the Helix LT with a standard XLR cable, or 1/4" instrument cable. |

Powercab 212 Plus
The Powercab 212 Plus active stereo guitar speaker system was specifically designed for use with professional modelers. Your amplification and speaker system is responsible for at least half of your tone and also determines how your rig feels and responds to your playing—so why play through anything incapable of making your modeler sound as true to your intended tone as possible? Powercab 212 Plus looks, sounds, and responds like a guitar cab because it is a guitar cab—though not an ordinary guitar cab.
Powercab 212 Plus
Unlike many FRFR speaker systems, the Powercab 212 Plus is constructed of wood rather than plastic, and tuned like a traditional guitar cabinet for enhanced acoustic resonance. And while built to withstand the road it weighs only 47.6 lbs, making it considerably lighter than most FRFR cabs. Foldout kickstands enable the Powercab 212 Plus to be angled up, and an additional cover is available.
FLAT RESPONSE MODE
In Flat mode, Powercab 212 Plus delivers a neutral frequency response from 70Hz to 20kHz with plenty of headroom. Guitarists enjoy all the benefits of a full-range, flat-response (FRFR) speaker system—but while playing through guitar speakers rather than the usual thicker-coned P.A. speakers, resulting in a more authentic and familiar feel. Just plug any modeler into Powercab 212 Plus, select Flat mode, and play.
Lightweight Neodymium Coaxial Speakers
If you are happy with your modeler’s onboard cabinet models and just want to hear the sound of your presets amplified, simply connect your modeler to Powercab 212 Plus, select Flat mode, and play. Two custom 12" lightweight neodymium coaxial speakers with high-frequency compression drivers provide the the benefits of a full-range, flat-response (FRFR) speaker system—but with the fast transient response of guitar speakers, resulting in a more authentic and familiar feel.
Take Advantage of 12 Proprietary Onboard Speaker Models
Alternatively, bypassing the cabinet models in your presets and switching to Speaker Modeling mode on the Powercab 212 Plus enables you to take advantage of 12 proprietary onboard speaker models—which are not the same as either cabinet models or impulse responses—for a more organic “amp-in-the-room” playing experience. Modeled speakers range from>stereo amp, ping-pong delays, expansive reverbs, spacious modulation effects, and even dual-amp setups will sound the way you intend them to be heard.
Additional Features
Additional features include a rugged-yet-lightweight plywood cabinet with flip-out kickstands, a 2-inch LCD, 128 user preset locations, XLR direct outputs, MIDI In/Out, AES/EBU and L6 LINKTM I/O, a multipurpose second input, and a USB audio interface. Third-party IRs may also be loaded and saved within presets.
