User questions & answers

Question: Does the usb port mean it has interface capabilities (can i record with it without an audio interface to pc
Answer: The PC recognizes the USB connection as a MIDI interface, which can be used to switch between patches.
Question: Can you delete only the previous loop that you recorded instead of the whole loop
Answer: No you can not delete part of a loop. In some other loopers you can undo one or more previous loops, but with the G1on you can not. When you delete a loop that was made on top of a a rhythm loop all the loops get deleted. It kind of sucks! This is about the only fault I can find w/ the G1on.
Question: I just bought a digitech-360 and found out i can't use the looper with the drum machine.. can you use the drums with the looper on this unit
Answer: Yes you can select a drum pattern and start playing it, then switch to looper mode and record while playing to the drum sounds. The drum sounds don't get recorded though, but you can play to the beat unlike the digitech 360.
Question: whats the difference between this and spending hundreds on different pedals
Answer: Lol! A lot, and not that much. This makes for an excellent practice pedal/tone lab. It's perfect for trying out different sounds and pedal combos and learning about basic signal path for FX. Some people even gig with this unit, though the G3X and G5X are considered more "Pro. Grade" though they have basically the same FX engine. Picking, buying, and building your own custom boutique pedal board is also rewarding and can provide some more unique and better quality FX... But you can literally spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Plus you'll need to try out the different pedals and build out a board. But individual pedals does give you flexibility DURING a performance. Note that the G1Xon has only two stomps and a wah. (Look at the manual, it's more complicated than that.) But basically (tl:dr) if you already know what sounds you want and you're a professional, spend hundreds on different pedals. If you want to experiment with different tone/FX and are primarily rehearsing and doing house of worship & coffee houses, buy the G1Xon.

User questions & answers

Question: Do I take I need an amp or speaker sys to connect to this affect sys
Answer: Zoom is a pre-Amp. You'll need an amp and speaker.
Question: Can this be used with a human voice
Answer: You can connect a microphone to the A1x Four using the MAA-1 microphone adapter.
Question: can I stop and Start rhythm with a Foot switch
Answer: Yes!
Question: Can I use this with an electric acoustic ukulele
Answer: I don’t have one to try for you, but I am sure it could. I doubt the guitar models would help, but those can be turned off. It would be easy to set up a few presets with just EQ as needed and a few effects as you might want. This thing is built to handle many instruments. If it will do wind instruments and a violin, I’m sure it can handle a ukulele.

Product features

A1 FOUR

With specially engineered effects, built-in looper and drum machine, the A1/A1X FOUR is the first Multi-Effects Processor designed for a variety of acoustic string and wind instruments.

Unlock the Potential of Your Acoustic Guitar

Add a multitude of warm and rich tones to your guitar. From live “unplugged” performance sounds to the finger-playing style of country and blues, there’s so much to choose from. Gorgeous effects and acoustic guitar modeling will take your instrument to places it’s never been before.

Add depth and dimension with acoustic emulators and modeling. Refresh your instrument’s natural sound, allowing your live performances to sound just like your studio recordings. Select and hone in on the tone of your favorite guitar make and style. IR (Impulse Response) technology is used to capture the sonic fingerprint all guitar shapes and bodies available on the A1 FOUR and via Guitar Lab. Each AG MODEL can be adjusted with 4 parameters (Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble) to control the volume and refine the audio output of your modeled sound.

Give Your Sax an Entirely New Soundscape

Perform that gritty, rock-and-roll sax growl. Or use the lush custom-chorus effect to emulate the sound of jazz fusion. The A1/A1X Four gives sax players a soundscape of possibilities. The all-new “SaxChorus” effect delivers a more natural double-track and thick tone response by softening the modulated sensation typical of a chorus designed for the electric guitar. With ready-made settings for EQ and Compressors your sax will preserve its acousticly warm sound, even when amplified through mics.

Take Your Trumpet Back to the Future

From the bright sound of electric jazz to our signature Auto Wah sound effect, the A1/A1X gives you inspiration for any style you play. With the “Tp MD70” preset patch the Pedal Wah sound is tuned, resonates and adapts to the low frequency range and curve of the Trumpet.

Turn Your Violin Into an Orchestra

From the rich, full sound of a string symphony to the raw, distorted explosion of metal, the A1/A1X FOUR have effects for every genre.

More Body for Your Harmonica’s Soul

Play punchy, mid-range sounds of a blues harp, or experiment with your own new sounds. Breathing new life into your harmonica has never been so much fun.Play through the preset patch “Hm StevieW” and get that famous harmonica sound as the chorus’s wet signal effect is modified to fit the frequency response of the chromatic harmonica. The A1/A1X even provides you with a truly effective simulation of the Bullet Mic, also known by harmonica players as the Green Bullet. Select the preset patch “Hm Juke” and now hear the legendary amplified, warm tone of the Green Bullet come to life, even when using any standard vocal microphone.

Take Your Upright Bass to New Heights

With focused highs and rich lows, the A1/A1X Four gives you control and flexibility from classical to rockabilly and all styles in between. Add octaves, select your piezo effect or create your own unique signature sound.

Drums & Percussion Included

Choose from 68 rhythm patterns designed for acoustic music including Samba, Reggae, and Jazz. Play along with a variety of time signatures.

Guitar Lab Supported

With a free download, ZOOM Guitar Lab software explore an endless world of patches and effects. And with its added ability to edit effects and arrange patches designed for Acoustic Instruments, you can experiment and create endless combinations.

The Perfect Partner

The Zoom MAA-1 mic adapter provides a hassle-free connection to the A1/A1X FOUR. It works with dynamic microphones and even provides phantom power for condenser mics. Add effects to any acoustic instrument and adjust gain settings with the MAA-1’s easy-access controls.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it have a guitar synthesizer effect
Answer: Not that I’ve seen. It’s not like a MIDI controller but there are some strange effects that are pretty out there.
Question: Can you use the looper pedal at any time? i've currently got a boss me-80, but it seems the looper is only available in manual/no custom effect mode
Answer: The looper pedal is just one of the many effects that you can include in your chain, so yes, you can include any of the several versions of a looper pedal in any effects chain, as long as you have the empty slot(s) and the available processor power. You just got me wondering what might happen if you were to include two or more loopers in one chain. I think I'll go try it!
Question: Do you always have to hold for the tap tempo
Answer: The tap tempo is a specific setting that you need to navigate to. It's actually pretty easy to do in a live setting.
Question: Does the g3xn use batteries like the g3x
Answer: Mine just has a wall-wart, no battery compartment.

User questions & answers

Question: will this work for a 500mA Holy Grail Reverb
Answer: I believe so, once this power supply is 670mA. However I would strongly recommend that you first confirm if your Holy Grail does require a 9V AND negative center tip. BE CAREFUL! As far as I know some older EHX Holy Grail work with positive center tip / negative sleeve. Not sure which is the version you have - if this is the case, DO NOT use this power supply. BE CAREFUL! Hope this helps.
Question: Will this work with any of the following boss pedals: dd-500, rv-50, and es
Answer: Yes, the Blucoil Guitar Pedal Power Supply is compatible with BOSS DD-500, RV-50, and ES-5.
Question: Will this thing power Danelectro pedals
Answer: If your Danelectro pedal accepts a 9V center tip negative power supply, the this will work fine. Please note that the Blucoil Power Supply works with pedals that require negative polarity only.

User questions & answers

Question: Do you have to use the amp/cab simulator or can it be turned off? I love my amp sound, I just want to use the stomp box emulator or effects patches
Answer: Yes you can turn both amp and cab sims off. Use it this wAy and it will be just like a pedal board with multiple effects. I love mine!
Question: Do I have to use a zoom expression pedal or can I use other brands
Answer: Yes you can but you need to test it out first. Some do not work. Sometimes I use a Mission Engineering expression pedal.
Question: Can i program a hofner violin bass sound patch using zoom b3n
Answer: I'm not sure but I'm pretty confident that you can. There are so many modeling possibilities with this unit. Most likely you could use a combinations of amps, eq, and possibly compression. I would recommend that you find an isolated audio track and try to add, bit by bit, the sounds within the unit. Also, you may want to try https://www.talkbass.com or Zoom's forum.
Question: does it come with a power adapter or do you have to rely on batteries
Answer: It comes with a power supply. Does not run on batteries.

User questions & answers

Question: Does G5n "remember" the previous patch (e.g. 20) so that pressing a switch (e.g. if now on #2) takes you back to that patch? How does that work
Answer: I don't use it that way.
Question: How would this sound running into a modeling amp like a yamaha thr10c
Answer: It sounded great on my 6 string bass, the tuner even works well on the low B string. There are several bass amp presets that sound good, including a fretless simulator for fretted basses. Highly recommended for my fellow bassists!
Question: Is the unit easily scratched? mine has a few scratch marks on the screens
Answer: You can but you need either the 3.mm to 1/4 cable or the adapter .. also on Amazon. And I have done it it works great
Question: Is it good for live situations soundwise
Answer: The PC recognizes the USB connection as a MIDI interface, which can be used to switch between patches.

The Zoom G5n Multi-Effects Processor for Guitarists

When we designed the G5n, our goal was to create the finest collection of guitar effects ever offered in one innovative package. From 'FunkSauce' to 'Texas Toast', from 'Carlos' to 'Heavensent,' the G5n delivers dozens of tonalities sure to please the most discerning guitarist.

Consider this the 126 boutique pedals you don't have.

The G5n comes equipped with freshly-developed takes on not only the most-essential guitar sounds like overdrive, distortion, compression, EQ, delay, reverb, flanging, phasing, vibrato, and chorusing, but also unique multi-effects such as Seq Filter, Gold Drive, Reverse Delay, HD Hall, and OSC Echo.

You can connect the G5n directly to a PA system or audio interface, using the 26 onboard amp and cabinet emulators. Choose from 10 classic amp models like the '59 Fender Bassman, Diezel Herbert Channel 2, Marshall JCM800, Fender Twin Reverb, MESA Boogie Mk3, and Bogner Ecstasy Blue Channel and British 30W Class A Combo, newly and faithfully created to be adjusted exactly as you would with the knobs and switches of the real thing.

Easy editing

There are four independent editing displays for zeroing in on the perfect sound, each bank providing the responsiveness and hands-on feel of a stompbox.

Powerful pedals

The G5n's expression pedal gives you smooth real-time control over volume, tone, or selected effects parameters, with four stompbox-style footswitches to kick effects in and out on the fly.

Complex tonalities

It would take an arsenal of stompboxes, amplifiers, and speakers to duplicate everything you can do with a single G5n. Use up to nine effects and amp/cabinet models simultaneously, chained together in any order you like.

User questions & answers

Question: Are the XLR output jacks on the back male or female
Answer: It adjusts from 8' to 20'
Question: What is the footswitch jack for? Probably a footswitch (ha ha), but to do what exactly
Answer: Limitless...with the adjustability of the rotating heads and the mounting arms. Each mounting situation will be different and will require your own creativity and fabrication skills to bolt, weld, clamp, etc... your project to suit your need.
Question: I'm considering the zoom ac-3 or the boss ad-10 (same price range). any comparisons or recommendations
Answer: 40 lb, 200 lb - I don't know why people give wrong answers to simple questions. I weighed the assembled crane on a digital scale and it weighs 70 lbs. That means it's difficult but not impossible for one strong person to lift and install it.
Question: Does this come with an AC adaptor cord included
Answer: I received this today. I slid it into the receiver hitch on my truck and assembled it. This thing must weigh 100LBS. I'm 77 and this thing feels like it weights 200 LBS. So I will need someone to help me put it in and take it out of the receiver hitch. You should be able to put it in your receiver hitch and drive it to your wood chopping area and drive it back home then take it out of the receiver hitch. I'm presuming we all have 4X4's.

Zoom AC-3 Acoustic Creator

The Zoom AC-3 Acoustic Creator is an all-in-one direct box and effects pedal that encompasses everything a guitarist needs to sound great live. As an enhanced direct box, the AC-3 restores tone lost through acoustic pickups to ensure that your live sound is lush and faithful to the instrument you have in hand.

For more distinct tone recreation, the AC-3 also includes 15 target guitar presets which can be used to more accurately match the guitar sound you desire. Plus, the AC-3 includes 9 chorus, delay, and reverb effects so you can easily craft your own unique sound.

Acoustic Tone Restoration

The AC-3 automatically restores tone that's lost when an acoustic guitar is connected to a PA or amp, allowing you to have lush sound wherever you play. Simply connect your AC-3 directly to any sound system, plug in your guitar, and you’re all set to deliver a rich and resonant acoustic performance.

Acoustic Sound Refinement

For more distinct tone recreation, the AC-3 also includes 15 target guitar presets which can be used to better match a guitar’s model and body shape. For example, when using a Martin D-18 dreadnought, guitarists can choose the Dreadnought source guitar preset and the D-Eighteen target guitar preset to match their instrument.

Versatile Guitar Effects

The AC-3’s effects generator lets guitarists choose from nine effects including Hall and Mod Reverbs, Analog Delay, Tape Echo, Tremolo, Pad, and Chorus.

Essential DI Features

To give your performances the most impact, the AC-3 features a high-quality preamp which boosts your signal and helps restore true acoustic sound. With 3-band EQ adjustments, you can easily round out your sound.

All-in-One Volume Control

The AC-3's Volume knob (patent pending) automatically controls the preamp’s input gain and output level, taking the guesswork out of adjusting sound levels to match. This is great when you’re playing live and need to simplify volume control while on stage.

User questions & answers

Question: Can the low BPM speed of the different rhythms be changed
Answer: Not sure what you mean by speaker. This is a pick-up that plugs into a guitar amp. The amp you use depends on your personal preference. I use this on an old Silvertone, tuned open D and play it through an old tube amp, all for a very specific sound.
Question: Does it have a tuner
Answer: No it is the small 1/8" you will need an adapter to run a 1/4' cable.
Question: Can I connect my laptop or mp3 player as aux in and play along
Answer: An electric guitar with two pickups benefits from the customizable sounds produced not MORE sound. In order to use two, you would have to rewire them so you could switch on or th other on/off. There would also need to be one at bridge and one near neck. I got ONE for a friend. He LOVES it. Good luck
Question: Does it have a bypass
Answer: No batteries needed.
