User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use it for bongo |
Answer: | You aren't measuring your drums correctly. Drums sizes are nearly always in round numbers. So you probably have a 10 inch, 12 inch and 16 inch set. And again this wouldn't be the set for you, as these are for 12, 13 and 16 inch drums. When you measure your drums, measure just the head, not the whole drum. |
Question: | Can I use this to replace a drum head on an 8 inch practice pad |
Answer: | If I recall correctly yes. But, when I get to my set I will double check and update. |
Question: | Is this a resonant head |
Answer: | It's just the batter heads only. |
Question: | how to correctly order correct size drum heads |
Answer: | It's the exact setup I have and it sounds phenomenal |

User questions & answers
Question: | how many heads are included |
Answer: | This is for one, 14” drum head. |
Question: | Does 14 inch mean 14.5? I’m not too familiar with this and have measured the drum rim to be exactly 14.5 inches. Thanks |
Answer: | Honestly, I’ve never heard of a 14.5 in snare drum made by any drum manufacturer. If you measured 14.5, my guess would be your drum is a 14 in drum. My snare drum and one of my floor toms are both 14 in drums. Measuring from the inside of the rim, they are exactly 14 inches. If you measure from the outside of the rim, it appears to come close to 14.5. Try measuring from the inside of one side to the inside of the other, straight across the drum. |

Whether you play rock, blues, country or metal, the Evans EMAD System Pack is for you. Named for the externally mounted adjustable damping (EMAD), the versatile system caters to all bass drum tones by allowing each player to control the attack and focus of the drum head by choosing one of two removable foam damping rings. Choosing the thinner foam ring allows for punch and focus without sacrificing resonance, while choosing the wider foam ring maximizes the low end and attack of any bass drum. A consumer favorite, the EMAD system value pack is an economical way to get both a front and back drumhead. It includes one 22” EMAD batter bass drumhead featuring a single ply of 10mil film providing an ideal balance of punch, power and low-end. Plus, one 22” REMAD resonant drumhead featuring an offset 4" microphone port in a single ply of 10mil film. A black, noise-free plastic sleeve on the resonant drumhead holds a foam dampening ring around the edge of the microphone port which controls overtones, enhancing pitch focus and attack. Enhanced with revolutionary Level 360 technology, the bass drumheads are easier to tune, with a wider tonal range than ever before. Applying the new Level 360 collar shape to the EMAD bass drumheads provides heads that are easier to tune and a wider tonal range for a sound that is studio ready. Question: | what is the size of the hole |
Answer: | I'm not sure but I can just slide my beta sm 91 in there. Shure mic |
Question: | Is evans emad system pack, 22 inch comes in 2 pcs (front & back |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Does it come with the hardware needed to attach to the base drum |
Answer: | It comes with a batter head and a ported front head but hardware. You would use the lugs and claws that are on your bass drum if you have them. |
Question: | I have a tension watch for my drum heads what should I tune this head to to play heavy metal |
Answer: | Loosen all the lugs first , then finger tighten all the lugs , push down on the rim with both hands and body weight in 4 different points , then finger tighten the lugs again . Once that is done 1/4 turn all the lugs than 1/4 turn all the lugs again . That what I do . If your personal preference is tighter than that use 1/4 turns only so you don't have the rim and the head seat uneven . If their is to much boom tighten the front head 1/4 turns and try it until the boom is gone or as close to gone as you can get it . I also have a pillow in it to soak up the sound . Hope this helps you . |

Question: | What does the word "fusion coated" indicate in the name of these heads? Is that a different kind of coating than is typcally on coated Ambassadors |
Answer: | This is the fusion pack. 10, 12, and 14" toms. It's confusing because the name of the product has changed but the description hasn't. I received a fusion pack and bought the 16" separate |
Question: | Hazy Ambassador Is the title of the lower side? Thank you |
Answer: | Yes almost industry standard for resonants. Equal if not better than Evans G1s. Power Stroke 4 on the snare is killer, PS3 on the bass is great but the pinstripes are ehhh. On the toms I like Emperor Clear or Coated, Black Suede, or Vintage A's. |
Question: | The description says coated, but in the picture they look clear. Which is it? Thanks |

User questions & answers
Question: | Those heads are for snare, tom 1, tom 2 and floor tom |
Answer: | I wouldn't buy these (10"). Your probably thinking, like me, that these are a quality cymbals. After all their ZILDJAN!!! They probably are very good quality, it sounds, to me, like "tin/ trash can". If you like that sound, that's fine, but for me I prefer a crisper/chick/click sound. I returned them, spent 25-30 more and got Soultone Cymbals VNT-HHT10-10" Vintage Hi Hats Pair. Wow, what a difference! You won't be disappointed! |
Question: | Can i use these for a Sabian set |
Answer: | Hello Timothy. Yes, this cymbal is in the A Zildjian series, top hi hat only. Thank you for your interest! |
Question: | When replacing drum heads is it necessary to replace both top and bottom heads? I am a beginner just wanting to replaced worn heads on used set |
Answer: | It was just the top cymbal. |
Question: | Can i use those drumheads for this drum set? http://www.amazon.com/drum-complete-adult-cymbals-black/dp/b008j1teq8/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t |
Answer: | No theres is a subtle difference in the sound that you get. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you think this would work with a 10' tambourine I adapted to a 4 string banjo |
Answer: | The coating is the same. The fusion title indicates the sizing of the heads included in the pack 10, 12, 14. Standard packs are 12, 13, 16. Rock or new fusion are typically 10, 12, 16. |
Question: | Are the pinstripe heads god f heavy metal and hard rock |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Is this typically used for a tom |
Answer: | Can also vouch that they were coated. Amazon gets the picture wrong on a lot of things, and if you ask me, they don't know anything about drum gear, so you should make sure to go by the description, not what's in the picture. Hope that helps. |
Question: | is it okay to use as a snare head |
Answer: | Yes |

User questions & answers
Question: | The discription is not clear is this 1 ply of 10 mil and 1 ply of 3 mil or what |
Answer: | I don’t know as I don’t know what the bearing edge is on those classics. If the specs match the Ludwig sim phonic snare bearing edge, then they should fit on the 1960 toms . I don’t know if they need a deeper bearing age type of head. |
Question: | It says "powerstroke 3" but the picture is a pinstripe head, what is going on? Which one is it |
Answer: | 8+12+14+16=50 inches total. Up until the year 2012, a dollar an inch was the most I would pay for heads. Buty now, 2019, if you can get close to 1 Dollar an inch, you are doing good. But in all reality, If I sawr those 4 heads in a pack for $59.00 or less, I would call that a deal. |
Question: | I would like to know if this is a set of two or is it a single. Thank you. Kindly, Caleb |
Answer: | This 13" coated emperor 2-ply head is exactly like the 10/12/14" coated emperor heads in the pack. |
Question: | Is this a smooth white |
Answer: | If you're referring to the "new logo" as being the newer larger one, it would most likely be the new larger logo. I haven't received any heads in the past 7-8 years with the older smaller logo. |

Question: | What is the difference between this 18" head and the 18" bass drum head? Why is the latter $10 more |
Answer: | Kick drum head, for sure. Could never understand the Tailpiece comment myself. |
Question: | can i replace the current mesh heads on my alesis command and put these on it |
Answer: | You mean on the left side , as opposed to the usual manufactured right side hole? You'd have to buy a port hole:http://www.amazon.com/Aquarian-Drumheads-PHBK-Port-Holes-5-inch/dp/B0002E2UD4/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=1-1&keywords=port+holeGlue to your second (closed) bass drum head, and cut the hole with a box cutter from within. I hope that answers your question. Regards, Serge |
