Question: | Is this a beginner's set or an intermidiate set |
Answer: | Beginner-intermediate price point, but make no mistake; this is a $3k Recording Custom kit in all but name. The main differences being that the Stage Customs are 6-ply and have low-mass lugs versus the Recording Customs 7-ply shells and hi-tension lugs. User questions & answers
Question: | Will this kick pad work with DTX 400 kit |
Answer: | If the DTX 400 has a 1/4" trigger input it will work |
Question: | Does anyone know if it is compatible with Roland TD modules? Thanks |
Answer: | I am quite sure that it will work. It has the same jack on the back to fit the pug on the TD4 or other TDs and there is one reviewer on the Amazon site that says that he has it hooked to a Roland. |
Question: | Will it keep moving if I don't screw it on the floor? I want my drum pad and bass to be movable and can be stowed away if I need extra space |
Answer: | Most acoustic bass pedals, from the least expensive to the most expensive USUALLY have some way to clamp onto the rim of a kick drum. This will look like a claw or clamp on the bottom of the bass pedal under the striker. Pedals with such a mechanism should latch on to this product. This target has two screw-pins that look like spring-loaded spikes on the far side (away from the player) so that if you have carpet, towel, or rug under your pedal area the screws can be lowered into that surface. This prevents it from moving much. This means that this is not permanently affixed to any floor or board. It should be able to be moved. |
Question: | Can this plug right into a PA channel or do you need some sort of controller |
Answer: | You can get a generic "thump" plugging straight in, but it's not very good. You'll need a controller to get any decent sounds. I picked up a used Yamaha DTXpress for $125. Well worth it. The variety of sounds is incredible, and you can add more triggers for other drum sounds. I wound up exchanging my KP65 for the silent pedal KU100. Very happy with it, but I'm a bass player, so I never knew a real bass drum pedal. |

In addition, the cymbal pad can be choked or muted. This allows for a variety of performance techniques and lets drummers practice hitting spot where they get "that" sound with accuracy.
*DTX6K-X crash is a single zone pad

The acoustic-look L-shaped legs further improve stability and robustness.
* Adopted for DTX6K2-X and DTX6K3-X

The DTX PRO comes equipped with an abundance of terminals that support a wide range of applications. The USB terminal can send and receive MIDI, and also sends and receives audio data when connected directly to a computer or smart device, allowing you to send sound directly from the DTX to DAW software or a smart device. The unit also comes with a MIDI OUT terminal, allowing you to send MIDI signals to connected MIDI devices. Up to 14 pads can be connected to the trigger input terminals that can be connected individually, making it simple to create a hybrid setup with acoustic drums by connecting only those cables you need.

DTX-PRO is compatible with the iOS/Android App Rec’n’Share, allowing you to easily record or shoot a performance that is combined with audio data, then edit the recorded data, and share it on social media. Question: | I need something to mount a couple of accessories - wood block and tambourine. Would this work for that use? If not, any suggestions |
Answer: | I mounted my rototoms off my bass drum and works great! It should work depending on setup included with your accessories. |
Question: | is it 7" or different size |
Answer: | Yes! I just double checked and measured it! It is 7". |
Question: | Will 2 of these multiclamps allow me to have my high tom and mid tom mounted from my cymbal stands? (It's mid 90's stage custom hardware btw |
Answer: | Yes. They're perfect for that. I have set mine up that way many times. I have a late 90's stage custom and the 600 series hardware and I'm still playing that kit and using the lighter hardware with never a problem. Yamaha hardware is the best period whether on the drum or as a stand. Best of drumming to you. |

User questions & answers
Question: | will this work with a SoundX model |
Answer: | It's just a trigger, so it should work. But it should also be better in general. If you're looking for a good kick trigger, this is not it. |
Question: | Could you use 2 of these using a splitter |
Answer: | Probably. It's passive, so that should work. But this pedal is terrible and no one should waste their money on it. |
Question: | Will it work with Alesis drum pad |
Answer: | As far as I know, a beaterless, silent kick pedal like the KU 100 doesn't require a drum pad. -If it's striking against an Alesis drum pad...it wouldn't be silent! so if you meant "will it work with Alesis drum MACHINE" -I'm not 100 % sure it will work with an Alesis, but I bet it will. My friend used the Yamaha KP65 kick pad on his Alesis with no issues, so if that KP65 works on yours, then I'm guessing the KU100 will also - I've checked youtube videos for compatibility before, they can be so helpful! -good luck, I hope you get it going! -peace. |
Question: | does it work without a drum kit |
Answer: | Hi Steph, It's an electronic trigger pedal, velocity sensitive, that can play any electronic sound from a sound module that can receive its trigger signal on a 1/4 inch jack. Most of these types are drum-centered modules. It does not require a drum kit, but needs an electronic sound module plus an amplification system of some kind, or headphones, to hear it. This pedal does not send a Midi signal. |

The direct drive creates a direct link between the footboard and the beater, conveying the movement of the drummer's foot to the beater instantaneously. The link can be moved into three positions, allowing the drummer to fine tune the pedal's action to match their preferred performance.
- Floating spring assembly stays vertical to maintain tension throughout stroke
- Easy-access one touch tension adjustment with click stops and indicator
- Spikes at the heel of the footboard prevent the back of the pedal from sliding
- The tip of the footboard comes equipped with ball bearings, allowing even smoother performance.
- Newly designed universal joints with ball bearings at all moving points
Product features
Quick-Adjusting Cam/Link (Chain Drive)
The chain drive gains tension gradually throughout the stroke as the pedal is depressed. Switching the cam from C1 to C3 reduces the initial tension.
Quick-Adjusting Cam/Link (Patent Pending)
The direct drive gains tension after the tension from the first step recedes. After initially dropping, the tension from the direct drive increases steadily throughout the stroke. Switching the cam from D1 to D3 increases the initial tension.
Double Chain Drive (FP-9C, DFP-9C, DFP-9CL)
This durable, reliable double chain drive boasts fluid movement. The cam at the bottom of the chain can be moved into three positions, allowing the drummer to fine tune the pedal's action to match their preferred performance. It can also be used as a belt drive by replacing the belt that is included with the pedal.
Direct Drive (FP-9D, DFP-9D)
The direct drive creates a direct link between the footboard and the beater, conveying the movement of the drummer's foot to the beater instantaneously. The link can be moved into three positions, allowing the drummer to fine tune the pedal's action to match their preferred performance.
Axle-Stabilizing Bearing Chamber (Patent Pending)
The frame and bearing cover (blue parts) are independently smoothed and precisely fabricated before assembly, allowing them to to be aligned with the central axis of the shaft and ball bearings to unleash a smooth rotation.
Low-Profile Stabilizing Hinge (Patent Pending)
The hinge base and cover (blue parts) are independently smoothed and precisely fabricated before assembly, allowing smooth footboard performance.
Easy-Access Auto-Lock Spring Adjustment (Patent Pending)
Moving the spring adjustment knob upward greatly simplifies the traditionally troublesome tension adjustment process. The knob is locked at a 90-degree angle which prevents it from coming loose on its own.
Weight-Adjustable Beater (U.S. Patent 9685146)
Attaching weights to the beater allows drummers to attain their preferred sound and feel. Aluminum (3g) and brass (9g) weights are both available and can be attached and removed easily.
Independent Beater/Footboard Angle Adjustment
The beater angle and footboard angle can be independently and freely adjusted. The inclusion of an angle checker allows drummers to easily re-create their preferred settings.
Ball Bearing Drive Conection (Patent Pending)
The tip of the footboard comes equipped with ball bearings, allowing even smoother performance.
Anti-Skid Heel Spikes (U.S. Patent 9691367)
The heel of the pedal comes equipped with spikes that prevent slipping when playing and provide improved stability.
