13 best roland drum sets
Roland is a well-known manufacturer of electronic musical instruments and equipment, including electronic drum sets. Roland drum sets are popular among musicians and drummers for their high-quality sound, innovative features, and reliability. Here's what you need to know about Roland drum sets:
Electronic Drum Sets: Roland specializes in electronic drum kits, which are designed as modern alternatives to traditional acoustic drum sets. Instead of using physical drumheads and cymbals, electronic drum sets use rubber or mesh pads that trigger electronic sounds when struck.
Sound Quality: Roland is renowned for its realistic and high-quality drum sounds. Their electronic drum modules (the brain of the drum set) come with a wide variety of preset drum kits, percussion sounds, and customizable options. This allows drummers to replicate the sound of different acoustic drum kits or explore unique electronic sounds.
Mesh Pads: Many Roland drum sets feature mesh drum pads for the snare and toms. Mesh pads offer a more natural and responsive feel compared to rubber pads. They allow drummers to practice with precision and dynamic expression.
V-Drums Technology: Roland's V-Drums technology is a flagship feature of their electronic drum sets. V-Drums offer an advanced triggering system that accurately senses the velocity and nuances of your drumming, resulting in a more authentic and expressive playing experience.
Built-in Effects: Roland drum modules often come with built-in effects, such as reverb and EQ, allowing drummers to further shape and enhance their drum sounds. This is useful for achieving specific sonic qualities and tailoring the sound to different music styles.
Expandability: Roland drum sets are known for their expandability. Drummers can add extra pads, cymbals, and even additional drum modules to create more complex setups. This makes them suitable for a wide range of musical genres and playing styles.
Integration: Roland electronic drum sets can be integrated into recording setups and live performances easily. They often feature MIDI and USB connectivity, allowing drummers to connect to computers, DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), and other MIDI-compatible equipment.
Portability: Compared to traditional acoustic drum sets, electronic drum sets from Roland are typically more compact and portable. They are suitable for home practice, studio recording, and live gigs where space may be limited.
Bass Drum Pedals: Roland also manufactures bass drum pedals and drum set accessories to complement their electronic drum kits. These pedals are designed to provide reliable and responsive control over the bass drum pad.
Accessories: Roland offers a range of accessories for their drum sets, including drum racks, mounting hardware, and cymbal stands, ensuring that drummers can customize their setups to meet their specific needs.
In summary, Roland drum sets are highly regarded in the music industry for their exceptional sound quality, innovative technology, and versatility. Whether you're a beginner or a professional drummer, Roland offers a wide range of electronic drum kits and accessories to suit your musical preferences and needs.

User questions & answers
Question: | can you connect bluetooth headphones or is the BT just for devices |
Answer: | As far as we could tell, it is just for devices. We could not get the bluetooth headphones to work with it. |
Question: | it includes the kick pedal |
Answer: | No the kick pedal is not included |
Question: | what is included in the drum set |
Answer: | Different kits come with different components, but none of them come with bass pedal or hi-hat stand, which my kit (TD-17 KVX; bass drum and workable hi-hat) requires. Also came with 3 sets of cheap drumsticks. I like the kit; the sounds are good, easy to tweak. The TD-17 controller has one aux trigger input left over after all included components are connected. I suppose you could add another drum or cymbal, but I have not looked into that. |
Question: | Would you recommend it for an apartment |
Answer: | It would be great for an apartment. I've let my friends play my Roland set in my garage and as soon as I stepped inside and shut the door I couldn't hear anything at all. That would be very similar to a next door apartment I suppose |

Bundle and Save
This Austin Bazaar bundle includes essential accessories to get you started. Three pairs of drumsticks make sure you will have extras. You can also use the included audio cable to connect your phone to your drums and play along to your favorite tracks! When your drumming session is over, wipe down your set with an Austin Bazaar polishing cloth.
Find the Perfect Sound
The TD-17 module includes 50 premium quality drumkits for a range of professional musical scenarios. The warm, wooden vibes of ‘Acoustic’. The small-but-tight ‘Compact’ which captures the sound of smaller stages. The wide-open expanse of ‘Arena Stage’. The clarity of “Studio” which is perfect for recording. The richness of “Fat Rock” or the intensity of “Speed Metal”…whatever music gets you going, the TD-17 will help you get there.
Create Your Own Kit
Today’s pro drummers craft their signature drum sounds by layering many sound elements; a snare sound is made by layering different snare sounds, each with their respective attack elements, ambience and so on. The TD-17 also lets you create your signature drum kit, by using onboard pitch control, EQ, effects and more.
Import Samples
For some performances, you simply have to use a specific sound. The TD-17 module can import samples so you can trigger original single-shot drum samples, or introduce entire audio phrases, sequences or vocals. Imported samples can even be mixed and layered with internal TD-17 sounds, to create a powerful and full drum sound that matches the real thing.
Realistic Pads
Some electronic kits use much smaller pads than you’d typically find on an acoustic kit – but because the drumstick has to hit the center of each drum, these smaller pads can actually feel further away from you. This is especially true if you’ve moved from playing a 14-inch acoustic snare to an 8-inch rubber pad. The 12-inch dual-mesh PDX-12 snare is tension-adjustable for authentic and satisfying rebound, while the height of the snare hoop is much closer to that of an acoustic snare so you can hit an open rim shot with a natural stick angle. If you’re serious about drumming, the TD-17 lets your technique shine through without asking you to compromise.
Real Acoustic Kick Feel
A nice solid kick drum usually comes with a nice loud noise. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, but your family or neighbors may not feel the same way. The KD-10 kick pad absorbs much of the noise thanks to its rubber cover combined with a dedicated cushion, but retains that satisfying kick drum ‘thud’ when a beater buries into a bass drum head, so it’s ideal for playing at home where loud noise may cause problems. It’s compatible with all standard kick pedals, single or double kick.

Genuine V-Drums Performance
Over two-plus decades, Roland V-Drums have established a well-earned reputation as the most realistic, best playing, and best sounding electronic drums available, bar none. The TD-07KV fully embodies this proud legacy, bringing you the finest electronic drumming experience available in its class.
Exceptional Sound
The heart of any great electronic drum set is a powerful, capable, and speedy sound module—and the TD-07 fully meets these demands. At your command are acoustic drums and percussion captured in precise detail in pro studios, brought to life with advanced V-Drums technologies that make them behave just like their acoustic counterparts as you play them
Play Right Away—or Dive Deeper
The TD-07 is filled with inspiring, ready-to-play preset kits for instant gratification right out of the box. And when you’re ready for deeper exploration, a massive drum library awaits. Switch out one snare for another, mix up the toms, go large on the kick drum, and swap heavy for light crashes and rides. Then tune the drums, add damping, and change the ambient environment at will. For the finishing touch, use the module’s individual EQs to shape the drums to perfection—just as a pro sound engineer would do.
Truly Quiet Drums
One of the main advantages of choosing electronic drums for home playing is that they’re much quieter than acoustic drums. But not all electronic kits are created equal, and the amount of physical noise they generate can vary greatly. Backed by decades of R&D, the TD-07KV is purpose-designed to be much quieter than other e-kits. Mesh heads minimize pad noise without compromising stick rebound, and special damping in the kick pad reduces noise and vibration while retaining a satisfying, natural feel. Even the stand components are designed to reduce vibration and noise transfer to the floor, and Roland offers a range of optional solutions to further reduce noise if needed.
Real Acoustic Sound and Response
While some electronic kits promise “acoustic sound,” they actually just offer static drum tones that are triggered at varying levels, depending on how hard the pads are played. In stark contrast, V-Drums produce a rich array of tone colors, providing an inspiring musical experience that feels like playing acoustic drums. Thanks to advanced precision sensors, the TD-07KV’s drum and cymbal pads detect every hit, stoke, roll, flam, and ghost note perfectly, and even cymbal chokes can be performed organically. Faster than you can blink, this information is processed by the sound module so that that exact correct tone is heard. You won’t notice any of this technology at work—but when you close your eyes and start drumming with the TD-07KV, you’ll know that it feels right.
Authentic Roland Mesh-Head Pads
In 1997, Roland introduced the world’s first mesh drumhead to universal acclaim, and they’ve been the de facto standard ever since. Born of years of development, our unique double-layer mesh design offers natural stick resistance and rebound that feels very close to playing an acoustic drumhead, plus adjustable tension that lets you fine-tune the feel using a standard drum key. Single-ply mesh heads used on other electronic drums are not made of the same material, so they don’t feel as good to play. They can also provide less accurate sensing, resulting in poor dynamic response and mis-triggering. The TD-07KV comes supplied with authentic Roland mesh-head snare and tom pads as standard, giving you the most accurate playing feel and sensing available.
Strong and Stable Hardware
When you’re drumming in full swing, there’s nothing more frustrating than a stand that feels unstable or a drum that starts to move away as you play it. Built with strong materials and quality components, the TD-07KV’s hardware delivers the rock-solid stability you need. The custom drum stand provides a firm, steady foundation, while precision clamps tightly hold all components in place. Carrying on the rugged durability that V-Drums are famous for, the TD-07KV is ready to stand up to years of heavy playing, day after day.
Play Along with Music Over Bluetooth
Drumming with favorite tracks is one of the most fun and productive things you can do with an electronic kit, and the TD-07KV makes it easy. Thanks to onboard Bluetooth, you can call up tracks on your smartphone, tablet, or computer and wirelessly hear the audio through the module right alongside the drums. Video sound is transmitted too, perfect for playing along with online songs and lesson content. And if you don’t have a Bluetooth device, you can bring in stereo sound with a cable. MIDI transmission over Bluetooth is also supported, allowing you to record MIDI data in music apps cable-free.
Connectivity with Music Software via USB
A huge benefit of electronic drums is direct communication with modern music production software. The TD-07 module is an audio/MIDI recording interface in itself, with the ability to send stereo sound and multi-channel MIDI data to a Mac or Windows computer via a single USB cable. This lets you record discrete audio and MIDI drum tracks in any DAW, or trigger sounds in software-based drum instruments for studio or live playing.
Make Drum Practice Sessions Fun with 40 Free Lessons from Melodics
Melodics is a desktop app that connects to your V-Drums. By playing along to step-by-step lessons and tracks, you can learn new beats, build your rhythm and timing, record yourself, and discover where you can improve with the playback feature. There’s no limit to how many times you play your 40 free lessons, they’re free for life, and when you’re ready for more, you can subscribe for unlimited lessons. Practice sessions no longer need to be routine—download Melodics, connect your TD-07KV, and make your time behind the kit serious fun.

RT-30 SERIES
Achieving a consistent acoustic drum sound from gig to gig is important. Many things can affect the sound; the heads, tuning, the mics, PA, even the room. Reinforcing the acoustic drum sound with electronic samples can help it cut through the mix and boost the sonic frequencies for the right kit sound, every time.
Hybrid drumming combines technology with acoustic drums so you can reinforce and complement your acoustic drum sound by adding electronic sounds. More drum sounds, improved sound quality, higher production values for your performance—with hybrid... the possibilities are endless.
Roland RT-30 series acoustic drum triggers are designed be mounted to kick and snare drums of any drum set, then connected to a Roland TM-series trigger module or TD-series V-Drums sound module. As the acoustic drum heads are hit, the triggers send a signal to the module to play an electronic sample, which is played in perfect time with the acoustic sound, without delay.
The two sounds are played together to create an acoustic-electronic ‘hybrid’ sound. With exceptional trigger sensitivity, ultra-quick installation, and compatibility with the latest drum hardware, the streamlined RT-30 series sets a new standard for anyone wanting to explore hybrid drumming.
RT-30H Acoustic Drum Trigger
Easy to install, the single-trigger RT-30H attaches securely to the metal rim of nearly any standard drum. The newly developed self-guided mount automatically sets the sensor in the optimum position against the drumhead, with no fussy mechanical adjustment needed after mounting.
RT-30HR Acoustic Drum Dual Trigger
Ideal for use on snare drums, the RT-30HR supports independent head and rim triggering for playing two different sounds from the same drum. The RT-30HR also incorporates a newly developed self-guided mount that automatically sets the sensor in the optimum position against the drumhead, with no fussy mechanical adjustment needed after mounting.
RT-30K Acoustic Kick Drum Trigger
Developed specifically for use on bass drum, the RT-30K provides fast and accurate triggering in a robust unit that’s simple to install. The newly developed self-guided mount automatically sets the sensor in the optimum position against the drumhead, with no fussy mechanical adjustment needed after mounting.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this product include the screws |
Answer: | Hi there, The APC-33 does not come with screws since they are normally included with the product that you plan on mounting to the APC-33. (i.e. SPD-SX. We hope this clarifies things. Thanks for choosing Roland! Kind regards, Roland Product Support |
Question: | What is the maximum diameter it can attach to |
Answer: | It can attached to all cymbal stand diameters. I don't think it would be able to attach to a drum rack tube. |
Question: | Can this be used on a handsonic hpd |
Answer: | It sure looks like it. The recommended stand for the HPD-20 is the Roland PDS-10, which is the same stand for the SPD-30 (Ocatapad). So, since both have the same mounting footprint, I am confident that the APC-33 will work with the HPD-20. |
Question: | Can this clamp be used for hpd 15 and attached to a cymbal stand? i find the PDS 10 stand very costly |
Answer: | Yes |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you add more cymbals to this set |
Answer: | Hi there, Yes, there is one additional input on the TD-17 to add an additional pad. The extra pad can be a cymbal, tom, or bar trigger pad. We hope this is helpful. Thanks for choosing Roland V-Drums! |
Question: | How many zones do the snare and cymbals have |
Answer: | Both are dual zone. No bell on the ride unfortunately. |
Question: | does it include kick drum pedal |
Answer: | The drum set does not include the kick drum pedal. |
Question: | Why is not including the kick pedal a trend - isn't that part of the essence of a drum kit (bass, hi hat and snare drum)? what's next tv no remote |
Answer: | Hi Kyle, The reason for this is that bass drum pedals and/or hihat stands are considered personal items for most all drummers. There are many brands/styles to choose from, and every player seems to be partial to one style over the other, or they may already have these items if they have been playing drums for some time. Roland designed the V-Drums so they would be compatible with most all kick pedals (including double pedals) and hihat stands and don't want to force the customer to use custom, proprietary pedals/stands. Also, when purchasing an acoustic drum set, most all of them do not include hardware, or even cymbals. If you don't have a bass drum pedal or hihat stand picked out already, you can consider these models by Roland: https://www.roland.com/us/search/?q=rdh We hope this clarifies things. Thanks for choosing Roland! |

Become A Better Drummer, Faster.
When you’re serious about drumming, you need a kit to match your ambition. The V-Drums TD-17 series lets your technique shine through, backed up with training tools to push you further. Combining natural, rich and dynamic drum sounds inherited from the flagship TD-50-class sound engine with newly developed pads results in an affordable electronic drum kit that’s authentically close to playing acoustic drums-accurately mirroring the physical movement, stick coordination and hand/foot control that every drummer needs. Meanwhile, an array of built-in coaching functions will track your technique, measure your progress and increase your motivation. Becoming a better drummer is still hard work, but the TD-17KL can help you get there.
The Essential Tools to Improve Your Drumming
First thing’s first: drummers should be able to keep a solid beat before moving on to the exciting stuff. But mastering the basics is exciting too, as it provides a solid foundation for building your skills, not forgetting that tracking your progress is highly motivating too. The TD-17 module includes a Coach Mode to support your daily exercise regime. You can warm up, develop your sense of groove, tempo and timing, and even work on your stamina-all with a score that tells you how you’re doing.
Authentic Playing Feel and Skill-Building Tools
If you regularly play acoustic drums, you shouldn’t have to change your playing style to use an electronic drum kit. You can use the same playing techniques you’d use on an acoustic kit, without compromise, thanks to the large 12-inch snare and a natural feeling hi-hat that can even be mounted on an acoustic hi-hat stand. And being based on the flagship TD-50 sound engine, the sounds faithfully reproduce the character and tone of acoustic drums, with lightning fast response time.
Join Your Favorite Band, No Audition Necessary
Although playing endless drum solos is undeniably fun, it only takes you so far. Push your drumming further by playing along with your favorite bands, or rehearse the tunes you’ll be playing on stage. The TD-17KL has an onboard recorder so you can play and then review what you actually played, not what you thought you played. You can even play along and record with the onboard demo songs or audio stored on SD card-it’s also a great way to capture audio for YouTube videos.
Learn At Your Own Pace with Online Lessons and Desktop Applications
Aside from studying with a drum teacher, there are plenty of online drum lessons and computer-based learning methods. The TD-17KL is designed to help you improve-however you like to learn. And as your skills and ambitions grow, you can expand your TD-17KL by adding an extra crash cymbal or second snare-safe in the knowledge that you’re using the same durable components favored by pro drummers.

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the dimensions of this item |
Answer: | I don't know because I got rid of mine after trying unsuccessfully to use it as a genric electronic drum gear case. Since it is designed specifically for carrying the Roland CDTP kit, it is irregular in shape, and I found no useful way to use it for carrying my Roland gear. |
Question: | Will this work for a Roland TD-17 kvx |
Answer: | Hi there, The CB-TDP is designed specifically for our TD-4KP set and will not work well for the TD-17KVX unfortunately. We hope this clarifies things. Thanks for choosing Roland! |
Question: | Is it possible to load td-4kp and dap3x drum throne in that? does it have good protection for send in an international flight |
Answer: | Hey there. I don't think the drum throne will fit along the td-4kp in the bag. It doesn't have a good protection to be sent in an airplane, you'd probably have to fill it with a lot of foam and plastic wrap. |
Question: | Can i put my roland td-11k in it. (i'll disassembly all kit). and drum trone too |
Answer: | Unfortunately, I don't know. It appears to be made specifically for the size kit I have - 4KP, but even that takes some geometric gymnastics. I suggest comparing the sizes of the two and whether yours can fold up and then trying out the case. Sorry I couldn't give more info. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it gonna work for Td-4kp Roland folding V drums |
Answer: | Only if you replace the hi hat with a $420 HH cymbal. Stand $220 So it’s 640 for a single HH set up. Comes with the parts you need. It’s totally worth it if you have the means. |
Question: | How would this pedal compare to a DW |
Answer: | Better |
Question: | Is the RDH-120 hi-hat stand wobbly or unstable while playing due to the two leg design |
Answer: | I actually wouldn't know yet. My order from Guitar Center for the actual Roland Electronic hi-hat has been on backorder since Dec and still no sign of when I'll get it (#veryfrustrated). So the stand had been in the box...sorry couldn't help more. |
Question: | Is this compatible with the roland v-drum 4KP set |
Answer: | I have the td 17 KV and it’s not compatible with my hi hat. You need to buy the model that Amazon sells for 426. It’s still the best price. If you want this set up it will cost you about 700 for this set up |

Question: | Can this adapter be used on Gibraltar cymbal boom arm |
Answer: | Hi there, If the stem on the Gibraltar stand that you'll be mounting the CYM-10 hardware to is not larger than 1/4", then it should work fine. Kind regards, Roland US Product Support |
Question: | Fit on CY 8 cymbal 12 inches dual zone |
Answer: | Hi there, Yes, the CYM-10 is compatible with the CY-8 cymbal pads. We hope this clarifies things. Thanks for choosing Roland! |
Question: | Will this also work for the cy5 and cy8 cymbal pads |
Answer: | Yes it will |
Question: | Is this tilter univeral? Does it fit all roland cymbal mounts? I have the td-12 model, & one of the tilters its missing |
Answer: | It unfortunately isn't. I have a Roland TD-17KV Series V Drums. Turns out these drums utilize a 8mm bolt on their Cymbal Mounts. This wing nut that comes with this is much smaller and won't even start to thread. |

Featuring innovative new technology from Roland, the KT-10 provides authentic feel and playability in a low-noise kick trigger pedal for V-Drums sound modules and other electronic percussion instruments. The all-in-one design offers fast, fluid response and a unique reverse-action trigger mechanism that makes the pedal not only compact in size, but also far quieter in operation than a kick pad played with a standard pedal and beater. With its small footprint, the KT-10 is ideal for use alongside an acoustic kick pedal in a hybrid drum set, and it also works great for expanding the capabilities of an SPD-series percussion pad or the HandSonic HPD-20. Of course, the KT-10’s pro feel, noise-reducing features, and portable convenience make it perfect for use with any V-Drums kit as well.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work on an Alexis nitro drum module |
Answer: | Not sure. I have used it with an Alesis Sample Pad Pro and a Roland drum module. Very Pro level trigger. |
Question: | Why are there two trs-connectors |
Answer: | One connection is the output to the percussion module you are using. The other is a mix-in -- that would be added to the kick drum signal that is then sent through the output. I only use the output connection. The motion and weighting, BTW, is really good. I use it in an apartment, and I get no complaints from the neighbors. |
Question: | Will the kt-9 work as the kick pedal for the Yamaha DD-75 portable digital drum set |
Answer: | Yes It's only a trigger device. |
Question: | Will this kt-10 work with my alesis strike multipad |
Answer: | I have used it with the Alesis Sample Pad with absolutely no issues. I am sure it would work with the Strike Pad as well |

ROCK-SOLID PLAYABILITY IN AN INTEGRATED LOW-NOISE DESIGN
Featuring innovative technology from Roland, the KT-10 provides authentic feel and playability in a low-noise kick trigger pedal for V-Drums sound modules and other electronic percussion instruments.
A Low-Noise Kick Trigger Pedal for Playing V-Drums at Home
One of the many reasons that drummers love V-Drums is the ability to plug in headphones and play quietly without disturbing others, something that’s impossible with acoustic drums. However, while V-Drums’ mesh-head pads are nearly silent acoustically, using a kick trigger pad that incorporates a standard pedal and beater will produce an audible amount of noise while playing. If this poses a problem where you play and practice, the KT-10 offers a great alternative. Thanks to its innovative reverse-action trigger mechanism, the pedal produces approximately 75 percent less noise in the playing room (based on Roland test data) while still providing authentic playability and a rock-solid feel.
Ideal for Use with Hybrid Kits and Roland E-Percussion Instruments
With its small footprint and integrated design, the low-profile KT-10 takes up much less space than a standard kick trigger pad and pedal, making it ideal for use alongside other pedals in a drum kit that combines acoustic and electronic elements. Roland’s TM-2 Trigger Module is a perfect partner in this hybrid application, providing built-in sounds and inputs for various Roland pads, pedals, and triggers, including the KT-10. The kick trigger pedal also offers an easy way to expand the capabilities of Roland percussion instruments such the SPD-SX Sampling Pad, OCTAPAD SPD-30, and HandSonic HPD-20. Connecting the KT-10 to a trigger input on a Roland device is simple and quick, requiring just a single cable.
Adjustable and Expandable
The KT-10 features adjustments for customizing the feel to suit your personal playing style. The pedal response can be altered by removing weights in the beater mechanism or shifting them to different slots, while moving the spring to different hook positions lets you easily modify the pedal’s tension. In addition, the convenient Mix In trigger jack allows you to create a double-pedal setup with a second KT-10. The KT-10 is compatible with any V-Drums sound module that’s equipped with ¼-inch trigger inputs.
