Answer: | Yes, and this is a very good deal here, but currently there is an even better one somewhere else. I'm sure this won't last forever since the membership stores change inventory frequently, but currently one of the big box membership stores has this bundle for $199.99 with free shipping, but almost shockingly, it includes over 50 dollars worth of additional items including a 9 dollar set of extra strings, a 13 dollar guitar stand, a 6 dollar chord finder book, and a 25 dollar set of headphones with 3.5 and 6.5 mm plug adapter. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the binding real or painted on |
Answer: | As far as I know it is real, AA Flame Maple top with a cherry Mahogany back. and a AAA MAPLE TOP, I got the kit two years ago great deal but the cord was crappy, called GUITAR CENTER and they sent me a real nice corded one for nothing, so if you have problems with it squelching, and cutting out it is more than likely the cord. |
Question: | Looking at the price I think I know the answer but it says that it has a e-tune on the guitar is it the unit behind the tuners or does it make a sound |
Answer: | The Epiphone Slash AFD is a guitar built in tuner. The tuner is installed in one of the picks. The tuner has the notes A, B, C D, E, F, G.You turn on the tuner and begin to play a string. With lights, the tuner will indicate you if the string is in tuned. I red light means the note is to low, the yellow light means it is too high. The green light means the string is in tuned. The tuner doesn't produce any sound. The player will tune the guitar with the tuner and its lights. Here you have a video that explains in more detail what I am trying to sayhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fq6J6ufH9uk |
Question: | It plays through the amplifier when the toggle is in the "Treble" position, but not in the middle or "Rhythm" position. Any idea why |
Answer: | I never had this problem, but I would think it sounds like the Toggle switch may be bad. If you live in a city with a Guitar Center, or if you live where you bought it, take it back in so they can check it out. Possibly cord but I would be more inclined to think it is your Toggle Switch. hope this helped. |
Question: | Is this pick up as same as duncan's alnico ii pro aph |
Answer: | The pick-up in this guitar is a ceramic magnet humbucker that was based off of the alnico II's design, its similar, but definitely not the same |

Answer: | Hardwood body is 1 3/8ths inches. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how old is the guitar |
Answer: | I'm not sure how long this guitar has been in production, but I do know that unless it specifically says "used" or "returned" you will recieve a brand new unit. I have had mine for almost a year and have had a few very minor problems. The strings that come with it are good but stretch and don't stay in tune for a few weeks when new. The only other issues are to check the input jack nut and the neck screws frequently for the first month...they tend to get loose. |
Question: | What is the difference between the Les Paul Special II "LTD" and the regular Les Paul Special II |
Answer: | The body is solid alder on the Special II LTD and laminated wood on the Special II. Both have the same bridge. Posted above a different bridge but that would be the P90. Special II LE/LTD is better than either. |
Question: | Would this be suitable for a 10 year old or should I be looking for a mini version |
Answer: | the fret board is not that big, for a 10 years old I think it will be a great deal |
Question: | can i use snigjat wood guitar stand(https://www.amazon.com/dp/b07wdpwczh/ref=sr_1_39?keywords=guitar+stand) with epiphone les paul electric guitar |
Answer: | Yes. I got 1, works great with my epiphone, nice wood grain by the way! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Which neck is easier for an absolute beginner to play, this epiphone "d" profile neck, or the fender squier thinline telecaster "c"profile neck |
Answer: | D is flatter, but it is really preference. I have both, but I feel that the Epiphone is flatter and wider than the tele, and better for lead playing, and the tele is perhaps better for rhythm? That’s perhaps why I have both! |
Question: | How Much Does It Weigh |
Answer: | 6.75 pounds |
Question: | What kind of strings does Epiphone put on this guitar |
Answer: | From my understanding, Gibson manufactured their own strings used on Gibson and Epiphone Guitars in a factory in Elgin, Illinois until 2008 or 2009. At that point, they subcontracted D'Addario to manufacture the Gibson/Epiphone Branded strings. I believe this particular guitar comes with .010 to .046 gauge strings. I have sold many Epiphone Les Paul Special VE's and have made a practice of inspecting all guitars before shipment and the strings on them seem very bright, similar to D'Addario XL 110's, which is what I'm guessing is what comes on this model from the factory. That being said, as a touring musician, I change my strings on my main guitars for every show...and for my "B" guitars every 2 to 3 shows...and at generally less that $10 per set...sometimes half that price depending on where you purchase your strings, I would recommend changing your strings as soon as they begin to lose their brightness...which also gives you the opportunity to experiment with different brands and gauges to find what you like best. Personally, I recommend starting with the D'Addario XL 110's for an electric guitar (.010 to .046 gauge), which I have been using on several of my electrics for over 20 years. Happy Playing!!! |
Question: | Can it be used on xbox one (Rocksmith |
Answer: | I’ve never used Xbox one, but it looks like this cable (in link below) will plug in any guitar... https://www.amazon.com/Rocksmith-Audio-Cable-Ubisoft-Not-Specified/dp/B005OSFUZI |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you put pick up covers on the pick ups and where can i buy the right size covers |
Answer: | You can, and since most humbuckers are of common size you can find covers for under $10 pretty much anywhere, including here on Amazon. Best if you can solder a small bead to connect/ground the cover to the pickup. YouTube will help you learn more. |
Question: | Is this a good guitar for metal |
Answer: | This is purely a beginners guitar, you get what you pay for. Metal music, as with any style depends on the quality of the amp as well as the guitar |
Question: | What does the rhythm/treble switch do |
Answer: | With the switch in the 'up' position, your guitar is playing through the neck pickup only (closest to the fretboard), in the 'middle' position, your guitar is playing through both pickups, and in the 'down' position , your guitar is playing through the bridge pickup only (furthest) from the fretboard. Switch through them yourself, and you'll hear the distinct difference. Neck pickup is a mellower (some say muddyer) sound, and bridge pickup is a brighter (some say lead) sound...and of course the middle position is a combination (some say happy medium) of the two. |
Question: | does it comes with a gig bag |
Answer: | No |
