14 best dean thin neck acoustic guitars

Dean Guitars is a well-known manufacturer of guitars and other musical instruments. They offer a wide range of acoustic guitars, and some of their models are known for having thinner neck profiles compared to traditional acoustic guitars.A thinner neck can be beneficial for players who prefer a faster and more comfortable playing experience, especially for those who are used to electric guitars and want a similar feel on an acoustic instrument.

Thin neck acoustic guitars from Dean typically feature a slim, narrow neck profile that allows for easier finger movement and chord transitions. This can be particularly helpful for players with smaller hands or those who want to play complex chord progressions and solos on an acoustic guitar.

Dean offers a variety of acoustic guitar models with thin necks to cater to different preferences and playing styles. These guitars often come in various body shapes and tonewood combinations, allowing players to find the right sound and feel that suits their musical preferences.

It's important to note that the specific models and features of Dean thin neck acoustic guitars may vary over time, so it's a good idea to check their website or visit a local dealer to explore their current offerings and find the guitar that best fits your needs.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the story behind the flag on the guitar? Also, I would like to know the story behind, what looks like, pipes and wires on the guitar
Answer: Mine says Handcrafted in China on label inside.
Question: Where was this guitar made
Answer: It's a great sounding guitar, but however that area where the neck joins to the body is quite thick. I try to keep my guitar in a climate controlled environment with out much temperature increases or decreases to prevent the wood from doing crazy things. I really haven't had to adjust it.
Question: How is the truss rod adjusted considering the way the sound hole was done? I see a few people complaining about high action...thanks
Answer: It has the Fishman Presys II (PSY-BAA-AAA)

Dean EAB Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar - Natural

Dean Guitars

Based on 106 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Dean EAB Electric Acoustic Bass is the perfect starter bass guitar for the beginning bass player. Now you can play bass with or without an amp! This is a comfortable bass that's loud enough for jam sessions with acoustic guitar players, and has the on-board electronics to let you take it right up on stage. For home recording, an acoustic bass is absolutely perfect because you get an incredible sound and you don't have to spend time finding the sweet spot miking up a speaker cabinet. Features include a select spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a passive piezo pickup system. Dean is really doin' it right with the Electric Acoustic Bass.

From the Manufacturer

Here's a versatile acoustic-electric bass from Dean. It's perfect for a beginner looking to enjoy some acoustic, living-room jams, but still features a Dean preamp for plugging into your favorite bass amp or recording gear. The EAB features a spruce top, mahogany body, rosewood bridge and fretboard, pearl dot inlays, and legendary Dean construction and playability, at an affordable price.

Mahogany Body With Spruce Top

The Mahogany/Spruce combo is a pretty common choice in acoustic tonewoods, whether for basses or guitars. Mahogany boasts a wide dynamic range, perfect for ampifying your nuance and still sounding good when you lay into it.

The spruce accentuates the bass and treble end of things. It also just looks great, with the deep brown mahogany contrasting the satin-finish spruce.

34-Inch Mahogany Neck

The EAB features a mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, and classic pearl dot inlays. It boasts a rosewood bridge to match, with a contemporary "sliver" shape that's all Dean.

Celluloid Binding and Rosette

Speaking of looks, the EAB has plenty, enhanced by the celluloid rosette and body binding.

Dean Tuners

Dean diecast tuners complete the hardware ensemble, ensuring you stay in tune even when you're plugged in and rocking out.

Dean Passive Preamp

The EAB sounds great on its own, but sometimes you want to turn things up a bit (or plug into an audio interface for recording, perhaps).

The onboard Dean preamp offers basic volume and tone controls to dial in just the sound you need.

  • 34-inch mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard and pearl dot inlays
  • Dean passive preamp with volume and treble controls
  • Celluloid rosette and body binding
  • Diecast Dean tuners
  • Mahogany body with Spruce top

User questions & answers

Question: For live application, does it require an active or a passive direct box? (di box
Answer: There is no internal power source. It has a volume and a single tone control on the top side of the body.. I've plugged it into a bass amp and into a mic input of a house sound system. Was able to get the deep acoustic sound I was after.
Question: acoustically, how loud is this bass
Answer: About the same volume as any acoustic guitar. One must remember that the extra thickness of the strings and the "bassness" of them causes them to be less piercing than treble strings. This is an ideal bass for dormitory or apartment dwellers. Amplified it has a richer tone than solid body electric basses.
Question: is the top solid spruce or plywood
Answer: I believe it to be spruce. It definitely isn't plywood.
Question: Is this an adequate bass for a beginner? How close to an upright does it sound when plugged in
Answer: I was a pro bassist for 22 years and bought this inexpensive bass for banging around as my other basses are way too nice for that. Being the type of bass this is I recommend taking off the factory strings and throwing them away. If you want an upright type sound use flatwound strings like D'Addario Chrome flats or their black nylon wound strings. You have to play very hard to get more volume but this bass should never have roundwounds on it. For the money, this is an OK bass and the tone is warm and round with the right strings on it.

User questions & answers

Question: is it solid top? does it come with a case
Answer: According to the Guitar Center website, this guitar does not come with a case. As for whether it has a solid top, I was wondering the same thing. https://www.guitarcenter.com/Dean/AXS-Dreadnought-Quilt-Acoustic-Guitar-Natural-1361202707222.gc?pfm=search_page.rr1%7CRecentHistoricalItems
Question: I'm having a hard time restringing the guitar can anyone give me some pointers
Answer: I usually do mine on reverse. I thread the string through and coil it around according to how it's placed, usually from inside to out. So counter clock on the lower three strings and clockwise on the upper three. Run it through enough up to the bridge and secure with the pins. Make the length enough that you will not have a hard time tightening. One string at a time. With this you will have no extra messy string. You will learn your own technique on time. Don't give up.

User questions & answers

Question: The guitar was missing one strap button, shouldn’t there be two
Answer: This model, like a lot of cheaper acoustics, only has one. The easiest thing to do is tie the other end of the strap to the headstock, by the nut. Or you could have a second button installed at a guitar shop (or on your own if you're brave).
Question: How long is the delivery? I need it on 27 for a present
Answer: Probably won't make it in time now
Question: How hard is it to tune yourself when you first get it? (Total rookie here- wanting to start learning
Answer: There is a tuner. You just set it to the guitar and plink a string, then the tuner shows the tone. It’s very easy. I was a very beginner but could tune it immediately.
Question: What’s the size difference between kid size and this guitar. It’s for an 8 year old. Is this too big
Answer: Yes, it's going to be too big for most 8-year olds. I'd recommend that you go to a regular guitar store and try several out before making your decision, so you have some benchmarks to help you decide. There are 3/4 sized guitars which sound pretty decent for beginners, and also there are cutaways and double cutaways (Yamaha for example) with thinner bodies that make it easier for a child or small adult to learn. Also ask about the "scale" of the guitar. Regular scale is 25.5 inches, but slightly shorter guitars will be easier for children and small adults to play. I recommend that you buy a brand name, as well. If the guitar is well-made, the person is more likely to stay with it and end up learning to play the guitar.

Question: Has anyone use this on a plane, checked in, gate-checked or carry-on and if so, with what results
Answer: There is only the light brown cotton linen guitar strap has the pick holder at the moment. But more different styles of guitar straps with pick holder will be released in the future.

This bundle from Ashthorpe features a top-quality acoustic-electric guitar (can be played "Acoustic" without an amplifier, or "Electric" with an amplifier, not included). The guitar body is finely crafted from top-quality (A-grade) tonewoods; Spruce on top for its superior resilient and musical qualities, and Basswood (similar to Alder) is used for the back and sides for optimum tonal response and warmth. The underside of the soundboard is X-braced for superb structural integrity. The neck is constructed from marine grade Okoume which is extremely strong and balanced. The body is a full size (41") cutaway design, meaning the guitar body near the neck is cut back to allow easier access to the upper frets, making for more comfortable play. This guitar is thinline (3" thick) which combines unparalleled sound with great looks in a lightweight package. An integrated 4-band pickup equalizer with volume control knob gives you full tonal control when plugged into an amp (not included), and features adjustment slide controls for bass, mid-range, treble and presence. Two sets of high-quality strings are included (1 set pre-installed, just tune and play; and another set as a spare). These are made from stranded steel cores wound with stainless steel and phosphor-bronze and are coated with a proprietary anti-rust coating. They're built-to-last and sound great, with a full and perfect blend of warm and bright tones. Professional finishing touches include premium diecast chrome tuning pegs and gorgeous high-gloss finish. The complete set includes the 41" cutaway thinline guitar, soft gig bag, 3 celluloid guitar picks (.46mm, .71mm and .81mm thick), on-board pickup EQ, instrument cable, shoulder strap and owner manual.

Question: is this the guitar that Bon Jovi uses
Answer: The Bon Jovi guitar is a Takamine brand , They sell for $1300 , This guitar sells for $100 . I have played both , I prefer this one , because it sound fantastic , its lighter more and comfortable because it is a thin line , and I saved $1200 so I can buy lots of other toys. The black one looks like the Bon Jovi Takamine guitar. If anyone asked just say " yes was Bon Jovi's personal guitar," smilie face here.
Question: Is there a considerable gap between the string and the neck
Answer: The strings are relatively close to the neck. I thought it would have a “cheap” sound to it, but once I put new strings on it really had a great sound.
