Question: | are the keys velocity sensitive |
Answer: | No, this is a pretty bare-bones controller. |
Question: | is Mpc Beats (daw) work in reaper ? Can the midi from Beats be tranferred to reaper as midi? are any of the sounds vst's |
Answer: | I dont know ,but i finely got mine to work in garageband on my Mac with the help of the music store salesman on the phone with korg. etherway it is not simple to set it up by yourself.to me the instructions are totally wacked unless you have advance knowledge in music software tech. who ever designed it did not think of the average person setting it up... Good luck........ |
Question: | Can it control the mpc live |
Answer: | No, only the the big knob on the top left is a rotary encoder. All the other knobs are pots and turn thru only about 330 degrees, then stop. |
Question: | Does this work for Fl Studio |
Answer: | It has no software. It's a USB controller that can be used with a variety of programs which allow for assigning functions to USB. I use it with Reason for audio recording and mixing. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used as a Midi controller as well |
Answer: | As of 12-2015, this keyboard comes with Ableton Live Lite. Not sure when the change was. |
Question: | I have watched some impressive videos with this thing that leave me wondering.. Just how long can your sequences be |
Answer: | It is not weighted. |
Question: | For the same price as the korg minilogue, i'm torn between the two. do the features of this enable it to sound as smooth and less dubsteppy |
Answer: | Honestly it's much better than anything else I could find. Solid build and the keys are great, other keys have a cheap feel but the keys on the A300 are much higher quality. The body has some weight on it but that's what makes it sturdy. |
Question: | i just bought a Roland juno ds-88 and wonder if sounds can be downloaded into the juno |
Answer: | One comment talking about "shorty keys" is inaccurate. These keys are standard size keys for a synth keyboard. Maybe the person complaining about the "short keys" was looking for piano-sized keys in a Synth. |

BUILD LOOPS WITH THE FOUR-TRACK PATTERN SEQUENCER
Using the intuitive pattern sequencer and large selection of onboard sounds, you’re able to create & perform sophisticated music with only the JD-Xi. The sequencer offers 4 separate tracks—2 digital synth parts, analog synth, and drums—allowing you to build rich-sounding loops for any genre. Real-time and step recording modes are provided, along with a special TR-REC mode for programming in the style of Roland’s classic TR-series beatboxes.
PRO DRUM KITS FOR HIGH-IMPACT BEATS
Packed with a variety of dynamic drum kits, the JD-Xi delivers quality rhythm tones to suit any groove. Included are many types of electronic and acoustic kits, and the drum instrument assignments are conveniently labeled above the keys for quick identification. You can also personalize the kits for your music by adjusting filter, envelope, pitch, and pan parameters on individual drum sounds.
SHAPE SOUNDS WITH IMPRESSIVE EFFECTS
The JD-Xi includes four simultaneous effects sections for enhancing any sound. Effect 1 and 2 provide selectable processing options such as Bit Crusher, Slicer, and Ring Mod, while dedicated Delay and Reverb sections make it easy to envelop sounds in spacious ambience. Each effects section can be turned on/off separately for the three synth sections and drums, allowing you to shape your mix with many creative combinations.
GOOSENECK MIC FOR VOCODER, AUTOPITCH, AND OTHER VOCAL EFFECTS
The JD-Xi comes with a sturdy, high-quality gooseneck mic that brings even more fun to the party. Using the Vocoder, you can sing into the mic and control the tone and pitch via sounds played on the keyboard. With AutoPitch, it’s simple to achieve the exaggerated, robotic vocal sounds that are common in today’s pop and electronic music styles.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can it be used without a loptop |
Answer: | Does your soundcard has any MIDI IO? If it doesn't you can buy really cheap MIDI-USB thingys (http://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-Midisport-Uno-MIDI-Interface/dp/B00007JRBM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1412093115&sr=8-5&keywords=midi+usb is one I would recommend, but there are cheaper out there). Either way, you need to sync it via MIDI. After you have solved the problem of interfacing the MIDI of your Volcabeats, you need to setup the midi channels in Logic, the volca beats only receive MIDI (that is, they don't send MIDI signal), so you'll need an audio channel in logic which sends MIDI and receives audio. In Ableton, we have "external instrument", I don't really know Logic, but all DAW have the same logic (no pun intended!) and you can make your way through it. :) Drop me a line if you could/couln't set it up. |
Question: | I cant hear no sound from the built in speaker and i just got it today, what do i do from here |
Answer: | Thank you for the response. Actually I decided to try it myself and went to the local music store. Within minutes I programmed 7/8 signature. Also tried it on a keyboard amp, and the sound is decent, not pathetic as through its built in speaker. Anyway, I bought it. |
Question: | can you import samples into this synth |
Answer: | I would listen to the sounds on a YouTube video so you can hear it for yourself. They arent the most realistic drum sounds but any percussion is fun to play to.... and it is quite easy to program. |
Question: | Would this work as a midi controller for use with Logic? I really just need a keyboard for midi, but this looks fun |
Answer: | Yes, you can only store 8 patterns, and there's no expandable memory. |

16-step sequencer
The step sequencer of the monologue has been significantly enhanced to deliver musical, complex rhythms that are easy to capture, see, and edit.
Microtuning lets you freely create scales.
Music has long been restrained to equal-temperament scales, and today, very few machines support microtuning.
Korg Minilogue
With the minilogue, you can get your hands on the powerful sound that's only possible with real analog, and find inspiration with features including a polyphonic step and motion sequencer, on board tape-style delay, multiple sound shaping and filter options, and an oscilloscope display. All of these seamlessly integrated features make minilogue as fun and easy to use as it is powerful. It's the next-generation analog synthesizer for musicians of all types.
King Korg
Featuring a 3-oscillator x 2-timbre design, plus the newly developed XMT modeling sound engine, KingKORG is the full-fledged analog modeling synthesizer you've been waiting for. KingKORG provides a diverse selection of 200 stage-ready preset programs organized into eight categories such as Synth, Lead, and Bass. In addition to a variety of essential analog modeling filter types, there are faithful models of filters that reproduce the sounds made famous in popular music over the last four decades.
Volca Bass
From subtly detuned warmth to aggressive acid, the volca Bass takes true analogue bass sequencing to a new level. Instant editing via the intuitive user interface lets you cut/mix/slice your loops on the fly to create powerful build-ups that will transform your dance track. The volca Bass is equipped with three analogue oscillators to create thick, huge bass lines and a low-pass filter with resonance that's specially tuned for classic squelches and screams. Sync In and Out allows clock sync of multiple instruments from the volca Series as well as Korg's Monotribe.
Volca Sample
The step sequencer is designed for ease of editing and to allow parts to be inserted or removed 'on the fly'. Use the 16 step keys to enter notes intuitively while maintaining visual confirmation of the timing of the notes in a measure. You can also record your performance in real time. The motion sequence function records your knob movements, letting you add time-varying change to the sound. This is a great way to polish your loops, and also lets you generate highly original live performances.

MS-20 Mini Analog Monophonic Synth. The sound of the inimitable MS-20 is now available to all with the new MS-20 Mini. The same engineers who developed the original MS-20 have perfectly reproduced its circuitry and fit it into a body 86% of the original size. The MS-20 mini will amaze with its absolutely authentic, analog synth sound. The MS-20 distinguished itself at its debut through its gripping lead tones, its fat and juicy basses, and its its warm strings and pads. It was a two oscillator synth with two VCFs. two VCAs. sample and hold, a noise generator and many other tweakable components. The entire array has been designed by the fussiest design team imaginable--the same people who made the MS-20 in the first place. If you are a fan of analog synthesis in general and of the MS-20 in particular, this is a synth you need to check out.
- Self-oscillating high-pass/low-pass filters with distinctive distortion
- External signal processor (ESP)
- Flexible patching system
- USB MIDI plus 5-pin MIDI
- Voltage control oscillator is the source of all sound for the MS-20 synthesizer
User questions & answers
Question: | Can I connect this to a full sized keyboard and essentially run all the sounds through the synth and play them on the full sized keyboard |
Answer: | It doesn't come with the stylus. I'm sure you could use a pen or stylus, but I like just using my fingers so I can hit two notes at the same time. |
Question: | Good for beginners? Does it have a sequencer and does it record |
Answer: | Well if what you're hoping for is a dual oscilator monosynth with a delay effect, you're pretty much not going to find anything close bellow a couple hundred bucks. You can find a used microKorg, which is digital and has four voice polyphony, and has effects including delay, for a wee bit over two hundred. And if you want analog with a built in delay, I can't think of one. A cheap Behringer delay pedal might work for you though. |
Question: | also what are those little yellow cords and do they come with the product |
Answer: | If you have a Behringer mixer, you would have to hook this up to your mixer via an analog input- that is, either a channel strip using line-in or a stereo/mono input, or 2-track RCA input. If you have the Behringer Q302usb mixer, you can chain the Main Outs (red and white RCA jacks) to the monotron by running an RCA to 3.5 mm stereo cable or adapter from the Monotron, then run the headphone out of the monotron back to another RCA input on that same mixer with an identical cable, or to another mixers RCA 2-track in. If you have a different Behringer mixer that has 1/4" jacks, you'll need a cable to go from the Monotron to a 1/4" jack. Basically you're going to need a cable or adapter to go from the Monotron's 3.5 mm headphone out stereo jack to either another 3.5 mm jack, 1/4" jack, or RCA jacks. |
Question: | Ok, can I just plug in my 88 key midi controller and pretend that little toy keyboard doesn't exist |
Answer: | Search for "Korg Monotron Duo" on YouTube. Here is Korg's official video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilSWwjuRrhw |

Bass Station II. Bass Station II is an analog mono-synth with a talent for bass, but a sound-engine that is versatile enough to kick out sharp leads and crisp arpeggios. It brings the best elements of the original Bass Station into a brand new design with re-worked modulation, effects, filters and more; like the Bass Station, but much much bigger. The signal path is pure analog - including the effects section. The hardware has been laid out in modules with dedicated pots, switches, sliders and buttons for all major parameters. Critically, you can store and recall patches on Bass Station II. It comes with 64 killer factory presets, space for 64 of your own sounds on the hardware, and you can store more on your computer. The key-mechanism consists of 25 full sized keys that are velocity sensitive with assignable aftertouch. It has been developed as a ˜synth-action' keyboard, where each key is individually sprung so it is light to the touch and highly responsive to the synth engine. Bass Station II is a fully class compliant MIDI device with MIDI I/O on 5 pin din ports - for connecting to other MIDI outboard - and can interface with your computer over USB. The Synth Engine: A Brief Overview Oscillators: Bass Station II is built on three analog oscillators and a noise generator. There are two fully independent oscillators plus a sub oscillator (which is the critical component in creating rich, analog bass sounds). Oscillators One and Two are switchable between sine, sawtooth, square and variable pulse width, and Oscillator Three - the sub osc - can be set to one or two octaves below Oscillator One. It can be square, sine or narrow pulse width, delivering the characteristically ˜fat' bass tone. Filters: You can select between two discrete filters - ˜Acid' or ˜Classic' - each with a built in overdrive for pushing filter tones from dry, to warm, to nasty! The ˜Classic' Bass Station filter can be switched between low pass, high pass and band pass at 12 or 24dB slopes. Th...

User questions & answers
Question: | Can the signal be looped out to rack modules and external filter etc |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | How does this compare to the roland jd-xi |
Answer: | More like how it contrasts. The jd-xi is more like a mini keyboard with mic. The Novation Bass Station 2 is more like Moog synthesizer with fat keys and smooth sound. Added onto this 2nd edition is a 303 instrument you play live instead of program. totally different beasts. |
Question: | Hello. I'm not really sure of discription- but can I play chords sound on it or single note only? Thanks |
Answer: | Hello, it's a monophonic synth meaning it can only play one note at a time. |
Question: | I would be interesting in purchasing if I can verify it can just do plain low full bass. Can it do plain full bass, nothing extreme |
Answer: | That's tough to fully answer because no one can completely know how you really want the words "plain full bass" translated into noises for your ear. That said, this little beast can do whatever the hell you want--plain low full bass included. Buy it because it's stupid cheap for as amazing as it is, turn down every knob in the mixer section except "sub oscillator", select the sine wave, drop it down -2 octave and then feel your bowels quake with plain full bass. There are also some good presets that fit your description too. |

Korg Monotron Delay
Go Anywhere Analog: That was the theme behind the remarkable battery-powered and palm-sized analog synthesizer that Korg dubbed the monotron. Now the powerful and fun-to-play monotron is joined by two new siblings. Each is played from a ribbon controller keyboard with newly added features. The monotron’s simple operation and ease of use (5 knobs and 1 switch) is alive and well, inviting hours of enjoyment and musical exploration.
