User questions & answers
Question: | Do I have to plug It into speakers or does it have speakers built in (I've never bought one and I don't to get it and realize I need more equipment |
Answer: | The SamplePad Pro does not have on board speakers. You can use head phones or plug it directly into an amp or computer speakers. Of course to the quality of the speakers you use directly effects the quality of its sound output. |
Question: | will this work with Kat brand kick/bass triggers and hi hat pedal |
Answer: | Hi, Alesis support here! Our Sample Pad Pro features 1/4" TS inputs; suitable for connectivity with 3rd party kick and hi-hat pedals. Please note, the SWITCH|TRIGGER and SWITCH|VARIABLE switches located on the back panel should be adjusted to suit your requirements. For further support on this subject, please feel free to contact us directly - [email protected] |
Question: | Where can I find a stand for this |
Answer: | I had to use a Simmons drum pad stand, the one with a flat 3x4" (guessing) or so flat metal square surface/plate that's on the top of the stand, then put 2 big Velcro strips on that flat surface and 2 Velcro strips under the drum pad. That's the only option I found that I liked. |
Question: | What else do I need to buy in order to set it up on my acoustic drum kit |
Answer: | From Alesis: "It's just like adding another drum to your rig: mount the SamplePad on a standard snare drum stand or connect it to any stand or rack using the Alesis Module Mount (sold separately)." |

User questions & answers
Question: | How can I simultaneously use my click tracks via the spdOne wav pad while Im already running my tm2 triggers thru my in-ears |
Answer: | I use a small mixer, the Behringer Xenyx 502 to sum the audio into my in-ears. This also helps me playing on stage because i get a FOH mix direct from the board and I can mix it in to my in-ears. |
Question: | Does it come with the AC adapter? If not, exactly which adapter does it use |
Answer: | Comes with batteries. No Ac adapter. The adapter is the PSB-1U |
Question: | Where can you find sounds to put on it |
Answer: | The voices are built in. I’m not sure that you can midi in other voices. I only use it as a base drum and I just boxed it for a real drum kit. |
Question: | Is there "velocity" on this, or does it always play the chosen sound the same, no matter how hard you hit it |
Answer: | They are velocity sensitive. |

Your Own Samples, Backing Tracks, And Click Tracks—in The Palm Of Your Hand
The Roland SPD::ONE PERCUSSION is a new type of digital percussion pad, one that allows any musician to add authentic percussion sounds to their performances. It contains 22 realistic percussion sounds, including snares, hi-hats, cymbals, shakers, tambourines, and more, and you can even import your own original audio data into one of the 12 internal sound banks. Powered by batteries or AC, the portable SPD::ONE PERCUSSION can be used on the floor or a tabletop, or mounted to any rig or drum setup with the included adapter. Portable and Built for the Road
You can take the SPD::ONE PERCUSSION wherever you want, thanks to its compact size and battery operation. It’s lightweight enough to be dropped into a bag or instrument case, and robust enough to travel thanks to its metal-body construction. You can even play and produce your own sounds on the move via headphones, and include them in your set list that night. Thanks to its built-in USB-MIDI support, the SPD::ONE PERCUSSION can also be used as a compact digital pad controller for a computer DAW for recording in your home studio or on the go.
Take Instruments to the Gig That You Can’t Fit in Your Bag, from Shakers to Timpani
The SPD::ONE PERCUSSION features a total of 22 onboard sounds. Each is a faithful reproduction of an acoustic sound, so you can use instruments that you wouldn’t normally bring, including snares, gongs, and even timpani. While a shaker may be small and transportable, it still requires a microphone to be amplified on the stage; the SPD::ONE PERCUSSION can provide your shaker sound in one song, and a completely different instrument in the next song of the set. Adding great sounding accompaniments has never been this flexible, simple, or portable.
Easily Fits Into Any Instrument Setup
The SPD::ONE PERCUSSION is compact enough to fit into your existing instrument setup without needing to move your other gear. *Fits percussion stand rod diameters from 8.0-12.7 mm.
Easy Control Using Just Four Knobs
Operating the SPD::ONE PERCUSSION is very simple. There are no complex submenus or button sequences—just select your sounds by turning the bank selector to any of the 12 positions, and hit the pad to play. With just four main knobs on the front panel, everything you need is at hand, including the ability to customize sounds, adjust overall volume, and balance levels on the fly.

User questions & answers
Question: | What's the sound difference between the red wood and the classic |
Answer: | Nothing same wood just a different paint color. I returned mine. Go with a true redwood/hardwood for a few extra dollars |
Question: | Is this a toy or can it be used as a legitimate instrument |
Answer: | This is a real instrument and not a toy |
Question: | Where are they made |
Answer: | It doesn't indicate on the package, but Meinl is based out of Germany, so that's probably it. You can't get hardwood in places like China. As someone who owns many of their items, all have out-performed any competitor's products.Their hand drums are made in Africa, their Middle Eastern drums and cymbals are made in Turkey, etc. So all are authentic, unlike most companies. Not to sound rude , but where they're made is immaterial; it's what they sound like & how well they perform & hold up that's the real concern. |
Question: | How well does this product work underwater |
Answer: | Do YOU work underwater? |

User questions & answers
Question: | Has LP fixed the cable issue? (One review still reports the problem as of |
Answer: | I'm not sure if they have fixed it on new products but they have been very good about replacing mine each time it breaks. The last time they sent me two replacement cables. But also, I haven't had any breaks now in a few months. |
Question: | How do you do the setup of the beater to the base plate? I can't seem to adjust the mount so that it attaches to the plate |
Answer: | The baseplate should be installed on the cajon so there is a large "lip" jutting out from the front of the base. The tightening screw should be in the back of the cajon (where the hole is). The beater should be attached to that jutting out lip and the pedal placed where the player is comfortable. |
Question: | Will this pedal work on the lp angled surface cajon |
Answer: | Try a regular pedal. If that works, then the LP reverse pedal will work. That said, I wouldn't think it would be good for your cajon. |
Question: | Where can I purchase a replacement cable |
Answer: | Go to a bike shop and buy a brake cable. |

Feels like a kick pedal
The LP1500 Cajon Pedal is perfect for percussionists who need to hold down the groove while using a shaker, tambourine or any other LP percussion accessory. For traditional drum set players, the LP Cajon Pedal makes a cajon feel more like a drum kit. The 3 foot long cable allows for easy positioning and responds like a bass drum pedal thanks to adjustable tension.
Sounds like a cajon
Adapting a cajon into a pedal cajon doesn’t have to change the tone. By design, the softer beater on the LP1500 Cajon Pedal makes the bass tone sound like a traditional palm-hit and makes new grooves possible.
Plays well with others
The versatile design has a universal mount which fits most standard-sized cajons. The sound and feel of the LP1500 Cajon Pedal helps drummers and percussionists adapt quickly and use a cajon in more situations.

You wouldn't compromise on your musicianship
Sound isn't everything. Your instrument has to feel like it's a part of you—and that feeling of connection is often heightened by small batch, handcrafted construction.
We tapped Spanish cajon builder and woodworker, Jose Hernandez Diaz (known as "Pepote"), to work with us on building Meinl Artisan Edition Cajons. Pepote is an extraordinarily talented luthier whose craftsmanship elevates the cajon in ways you may not have known were possible.
Thinking hard about wood combinations, customizing the strings and shaping the body for a spectacular touch, we developed a series of cajons with Pepote that embody the spirit of artisan craftsmanship.
The Meinl Artisan Edition Tango Line Cajon
Resonating body
We used 7-ply (9mm) Baltic birch highlighted with inlays to construct the body of the cajon. Baltic birch is commonly found in high end drum sets for its focused sound with wide tonal range.
Playing surface
The beautiful limba frontplate features a textured surface for enhanced feel along with a superb response, from finger rolls and ghost notes to heavy back beats.
It's all about the feel
When there is no question about how it plays and you get MORE back in response than you put in, you have found a prized percussion masterpiece. It's a great feeling when you can sit down on this cajon and get a sense of its depth of sound and incredibly detailed craftsmanship with only a simple tap of your fingers on the playing surface.
Punchy bass with crisp snare slap tones
The foundation for sound development with this cajon lies in the wood combination—Baltic birch and limba.
Together, these wood species create naturally deep and focused bass with a highly sensitive response.
The limba frontplate also adds striking beauty with is heavily contrasted light and dark wood grain mixture.
Pre-tuned custom micro-coiled steel cajon strings
Hand-wound steel strings span against the length of the playing surface inside the cajon to give you a snare response with clarity, precision and sensitivity.
Each side of the playing surface has three pre-tuned strings that give every area of the cajon a crisp, dialed-in snare effect, along with strips of thin fabric to eliminate buzzing or rattling.
Contoured playing surface
The exquisite limba playing surface is rounded at the corners and sanded down to form thumb notches where your hands lay in their natural position. This gives you exceptional contact with the cajon along with more comfort.
Taking the touch of this cajon a step further, the playing surface is sanded and shaped together with the resonating body to form a perfectly flush, 1-to-1 match. Each resonating body has a playing surface made just for it.
